Hogwarts: I am the White Demon King

#470 - Chapter 470: The New Professor Who Walks Like a Penguin (Additional chapter for "I am a

Madam Pomfrey's medical skills were not to be trifled with. She quickly concocted a potion in the hospital wing, and Umbridge's nosebleed stopped as soon as she smelled it.

After tidying herself up, Umbridge returned to the professors' table, this time with extra caution.

First, she waved her wand, clearing away the meat pies and wine from her plate and glass. Then, with a forced smile, she surreptitiously glanced at Dumbledore.

"No more touching food or drinks," Umbridge warned herself.

After the initial panic in the hospital wing, she slowly calmed down and began to re-examine everything that had happened at the feast.

The more she thought about it, the more she felt something was wrong.

Nonsense about a curse!

Nonsense about bad luck!

Someone had clearly tampered with her food or wine, with the intention of making her look foolish and then blaming it on the Dark Lord.

From this perspective, the mastermind was almost obvious—only one person had both the motive and the ability to do such a thing, and that was Dumbledore!

Umbridge gritted her teeth, a flash of resentment in her eyes.

Clearly, Dumbledore wanted to use this farce to weaken her authority, even to instill fear in her so that she would voluntarily flee back to the Ministry of Magic.

If she were frightened by this and left in such a disheveled state, it would not only completely collapse the Ministry's plan at Hogwarts, but she would also become a symbol of incompetence in Fudge's eyes.

She turned her gaze away from Dumbledore, scanning the students below as she secretly vowed in her heart.

You want me to leave? I won't give you the satisfaction. The days ahead are long; we'll see!

The feast gradually approached its end. The young wizards were full and sleepy, even their conversations laced with a hint of laziness.

"While everyone is digesting this delicious meal, I need everyone to be quiet for a moment to hear some important reminders for the new term."

The Great Hall quieted down, and the young wizards turned their attention to Dumbledore.

"This year, there are two changes to our teaching staff. First, Professor Scamander will be responsible for all Care of Magical Creatures classes for years three through seven."

"Second, let us welcome Professor Umbridge, who will be our new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor for the coming year."

A smattering of applause echoed through the hall, sounding rather cold. Harry and his friends didn't even raise their hands, clearly not intending to show her any respect.

"Ahem..." Umbridge cleared her throat and stepped forward to the head table, interrupting Dumbledore's next words. "Thank you, Headmaster. However, I think I would prefer to introduce myself!"

Dumbledore nodded and smiled as he sat back down, his gaze fixed on Umbridge as if anticipating her speech.

The other professors were not as tolerant of Umbridge's attitude. Professor Sprout's eyebrows rose high, her face full of surprise. Professor McGonagall's lips were pressed into a straight line, her expression as cold as ice, extremely displeased with Umbridge's interruption of Dumbledore.

However, Umbridge didn't feel embarrassed in the slightest. She ignored the professors' gazes, speaking in her sickeningly sweet voice.

"Oh, I must say, it is such a delight to return to Hogwarts! The moment I stepped in here, I couldn't help but recall the wonderful times I had studying here."

She began to speak eloquently, reminiscing about her student days, trying to use this to connect with the young wizards present.

After talking about her student days, she changed the subject and began to express the Ministry of Magic's interference in Hogwarts.

"...The practice of progressing for the sake of progress should be abandoned. We should restore tradition, because traditional things have been tested and refined over time. Some clumsy modifications will only lead us astray from the right path."

The atmosphere below the stage grew colder and colder. Almost no one listened to her speech seriously. Some were secretly chatting, some were dozing off, and some were flipping through magazines. Only a few prefects with badges were still staring at Umbridge with wide eyes, but their gazes were dull and lifeless, their minds long gone.

Hermione, however, did not lose focus at all. Although Umbridge's speech was boring, it clearly illustrated the Ministry of Magic's specific attitude.

Gurgle—

A strange sound suddenly rang out in the hall, interrupting Umbridge's long-winded speech. The young wizards came back to their senses and began to search for the source of the sound.

What was that sound? Why did it sound so much like a toad?

"Here it comes," Fred said, his eyes wide, his voice filled with suppressed excitement. "I thought the second ingredient had failed."

"It did take a while," George nodded, quietly agreeing. "If Umbridge hadn't been talking so much nonsense, we'd be back in the dormitory by now. We wouldn't have seen this scene. It seems the recipe needs to be improved."

Hearing the twins' words, Harry and his friends instantly lost all sleepiness. They stared intently at Umbridge, waiting to see what effect the second ingredient would have.

"We should closely follow the footsteps of the Ministry of Magic, under the leadership of Minister Fudge..."

Gurgle gurgle—

The sound rang out again. This time, all the young wizards clearly heard the source of the sound. Everyone looked at Umbridge, wanting to figure out what was going on.

"Everyone, pay attention," Fred lowered his voice. "The show is about to begin."

George said with a grin, "I bet this opening feast will be recorded in the history of shit."

Recorded in the history of shit?

Harry and his friends looked at each other, a hint of disbelief in their eyes.

Could it really be what they were thinking?

If that really happened, would Umbridge still have the face to stay at Hogwarts?

The gurgling sound grew louder and louder, as if a Sonorus charm had been cast on it, echoing clearly in the Great Hall.

Umbridge initially tried to maintain her composure, trying to continue her speech, but her voice was gradually drowned out by the embarrassing sound.

"Hehe—"

Finally, a young wizard couldn't help but snicker. Seeing someone take the lead, more students joined in the laughter, which rose and fell, impossible to suppress.

These malicious taunts almost broke Umbridge's forced smile. She endured the humiliation and stubbornly maintained that stiff smile, trying to finish her speech.

Suddenly, her face froze, her words stopped abruptly, and she hurriedly left the head table, pretending to be calm as she walked out of the hall.

However, some sharp-eyed students noticed that her movements were becoming more and more awkward, her steps carrying an undisguised embarrassment.

"Why is she walking like a penguin?"

"If you were her, you'd walk like a penguin too."

"Keep your voice down. She must be suffering a lot."

Watching Umbridge's awkward gait, Sebastian didn't hesitate to cast Bubble-Head Charms on himself and Mia.

Sure enough, before she had taken two steps, Umbridge emitted an exceptionally long sound.
