Hogwarts: I am the White Demon King

#82 - Chapter 82 Harry: The Sorting Hat Is Not Accurate at All

Harry stood in the queue, his face flushed red, watching the young wizards walk towards the Sorting Hat one by one.

Thinking about the commotion he had caused on the Black Lake, he wished he could find a crack in the ground to disappear into.

He glared resentfully at Sebastian, who was grinning, and muttered to himself.

Sebastian, you big liar!

He actually said he was going to duel a water monster.

And I was shouting for the other students not to be afraid.

How incredibly stupid!

Fortunately for Harry, as soon as they entered the Great Hall and the Sorting Ceremony began, the students' attention seemed to be magically diverted away from him.

Suddenly, he heard a murmur of complaint from nearby.

"How is it possible? Crabbe and Goyle actually got sorted into Hufflepuff?"

"The Sorting Hat's judgment is completely inaccurate; there must be something fishy going on!"

"Hmph, it's just as well they went to Hufflepuff. Those two blockheads would only embarrass Slytherin."

Hearing these harsh words, Harry glanced up and saw Malfoy, whom he had met in Diagon Alley.

He ignored him, simply lowering his head and waiting for Professor McGonagall to call his name.

"Harry Potter."

Harry took a deep breath and, amidst the murmurs of the crowd, slowly stepped forward and placed the Sorting Hat on his head.

"Hmm, difficult, very difficult. Where to put you?"

Hearing the voice in his ear, Harry thought firmly, "I want to go to Slytherin!"

In fact, even before coming to Hogwarts, Harry had already made Slytherin his first choice.

After all, for the past two months, he had been living with the Slytherin professors, building a deep connection with them.

Professor Snape's patience and erudition had filled him with interest in Potions, while Sebastian's elegance and power had inspired his admiration.

Both professors had left a deep and indelible impression on Harry's mind.

Now at Hogwarts, still feeling unfamiliar with everything, Harry naturally hoped to enter the house of these two mentors and continue to receive their guidance and care.

As if sensing the thoughts in Harry's mind, the Sorting Hat whispered in his ear.

"Want to go to Slytherin? Hmm, that house could indeed help you on your way to greatness."

"In that case, you shall go to… GRYFFINDOR!"

The Sorting Hat's loud announcement froze the smile on Harry's face; he almost thought he had misheard.

However, the cheers erupting from the Gryffindor table came in wave after wave, reminding him that it was not an illusion.

Wasn't Slytherin supposed to lead to greatness?

Why the sudden change of heart?!

Could it be true what Malfoy said?

That this Sorting Hat is too old and its judgment is completely inaccurate.

Somewhat annoyed, Harry put the Sorting Hat back on the stool and, as he turned to leave, couldn't help but look up at the teachers' table.

Professor Snape was expressionless, clapping slowly and deliberately, while Sebastian was watching him with a smile, his eyes full of blessing and encouragement.

Harry gave the two professors a slightly apologetic smile, then took a deep breath and walked towards the lively Gryffindor table.

The young boy's worries came and went quickly, and soon he was chatting happily with his Gryffindor companions.

Once everyone had eaten their fill, Dumbledore stood up and announced to everyone.

"This year, two new professors have joined Hogwarts."

"One is Professor Gilderoy Lockhart, who will be responsible for a newly introduced subject: Writing."

"First-year students will study with Professor Lockhart every Saturday morning for two months, learning how to write essays."

As Dumbledore introduced him, Lockhart stood up and waved enthusiastically to the students.

In an instant, the entire hall erupted.

"Why are only first-year students allowed to attend? That's not fair!"

"Can we audit, Professor Lockhart?"

"Professor, could you sign a few more autographs for me?"

The hall was in an uproar, and it took Dumbledore a great deal of effort to calm the youngsters down.

"The other is Professor Quirinus Quirrell, whom I believe many older students will still recognize…"

Before he could finish speaking, the quiet hall became noisy again.

"Ah? Professor Quirrell is back? Then where did Professor Swann go?"

"Merlin, I just entered my third year and was planning to sign up for Muggle Studies. What am I going to do now?!"

"Headmaster, you must be confused, right?"

Harry recognized this man as the one he had met at the Leaky Cauldron. His face was still so pale, but unlike before, he was wearing a thick purple turban around his head.

"Don't worry," Dumbledore used the Sonorus charm to suppress the noise in the hall. "Your Professor Swann will continue to teach Muggle Studies."

"Professor Quirrell will be responsible for Defense Against the Dark Arts. I believe you will get along very well."

After the students quieted down again, Dumbledore continued, "Now, I would like to announce a few important matters."

"This year, the school has launched a work-study program, and everyone has the opportunity to earn a considerable amount of Galleons. Please pay attention to the bulletin board for the specific procedures and standards."

"First-year students, please note that it is forbidden to enter the Forbidden Forest."

"I must warn everyone that if you do not want to encounter accidents, please be sure to stay away from the corridor on the right side of the fourth floor."

"Finally, Professor Swann has some important matters to announce, and we invite him to speak."

Harry was a little puzzled.

Wasn't Hogwarts supposed to be the safest place in the magical world?

Why would the corridor on the fourth floor be dangerous?

He wanted to ask Percy, the prefect next to him, but he noticed that everyone, including Percy, was staring intently at Sebastian on the teachers' table.

Sebastian stood up, smiling and returning everyone's gaze.

"The first thing is that the Quidditch team tryouts have been scheduled for Saturday morning at eight o'clock during the first week of school. Students interested in participating should not miss the tryout time."

"The second thing is that, as usual, the newly enrolled students will each receive a protective badge in the style of the school crest."

"In addition," Sebastian said with a mysterious smile, "this year, each student will also receive a mysterious gift."

As soon as he finished speaking, orbs of light, under Sebastian's control, accurately landed in the hands of each student.

"The Hogwarts Navigation Map. With it, the newly enrolled students won't have to worry about getting lost."

"It's easy to use; you can try it out when you return to your common rooms."

"Here, let us give a round of applause to Fred Weasley and George Weasley."

Amidst the enthusiastic applause, Ron looked at his brothers in surprise, shouting.

"This is impossible! They didn't say anything all summer."

"Nothing is impossible, little Ronnie," Fred patted Ron on the shoulder, then he and George bowed to the surrounding crowd.

After the banquet, Sebastian returned to Swann Manor.

As soon as he entered, he opened his arms and shouted to Mia on the sofa.

"Wife, now it's just the two of us left. Let's play a fun game."

Mia dodged Sebastian's embrace and giggled.

"Then you come and catch me~~"
