Hogwarts: I will not become the Dark Lord

#281 - Letters covered with stamps

Sunlight streamed into the room through the gaps in the curtains, leaving dappled shadows on the floor. The room was filled with a faint scent of lavender.

Jerry loved this scent; it made him feel safe and peaceful.

This room was next to Hermione's, and the one he always stayed in whenever he visited the Grangers. Mrs. Granger always kept it for him.

Everything was filled with a warm and familiar feeling, as if he had never left.

Jerry had been warmly invited by Mrs. Granger, and he had been staying at Hermione's house for a week.

Mr. Granger, on the other hand, always wore a serious expression. Jerry thought he must have some prejudice against the magical world... probably... yes, that must be it!

During this week, Jerry enjoyed a rare tranquility and leisure. Every day he would read books or go shopping with Hermione. The summer sun filled the streets, and the air was filled with a lazy and relaxed atmosphere.

"Here," Hermione said softly, stepping forward and gently placing a bottle of iced drink she had just bought from the counter next to Jerry's video game table, where he was intensely battling. Then, she leaned against him from behind, watching his contest with the game with great interest.

"I never thought you'd be interested in these things, Jerry," Hermione said with a smile, leaning against the back of Jerry's chair, appearing particularly close.

"Why would you think that? You forget, I grew up in the Muggle world just like you!" Jerry said, finishing the game and picking up the drink on the table to take a big gulp.

"Then, Jerry, would you like to buy a set of these video game devices to take back with you?" Hermione asked with concern, then added, "If you don't have enough pounds, I have some savings here. My dad gave me the pocket money, and I've hardly touched it. I've been saving it!"

"No need, Hermione," Jerry said, standing up and gently putting his arm around her shoulders, his eyes full of smiles. "You know Hogwarts doesn't have these things. Buying them would only collect dust."

Even if Jerry wanted to buy them, he wouldn't spend Hermione's money. What did she take him for? Someone who lives off a woman?

Most importantly, if Mr. Granger knew that his precious daughter was using all the pocket money he gave her to buy these things for Jerry...

"Impossible. Who would send such a strange letter, covered in stamps? You've been staying here recently; it must be for you, kid!" Mr. Granger said with certainty.

Faced with Mr. Granger's insistence, Jerry felt helpless but had no choice but to tear open the envelope in front of everyone and pull out the letter inside.

"Who sent it?" Hermione asked curiously, sitting close to Jerry, her eyes following his movements.

"It's from Mrs. Weasley," Jerry said, unfolding the letter and reading softly, "And it's addressed to your parents."

Arthur Weasley, that is, Ron's father, through his friend in the Department of Magical Games and Sports, managed to get a few tickets to the Quidditch World Cup match. The match date is on Monday night. The tickets were hard to come by, and they hope the Grangers will allow Hermione and Jerry to go together.

"That's great! Mr. Weasley really got the tickets!" Hermione said excitedly. "Jerry, let's go to the match together!"

"Wait," Mr. Granger interrupted Hermione's cheers gently but with a hint of caution. "What is Quidditch?"

"It's a wizarding sport, like playing ball on broomsticks!"

"What kind of strange sport is that?" Mr. Granger frowned, then looked at Jerry. "Could it be dangerous?"

"Ministry of Magic officials and Aurors will be on site!" Jerry said, shaking his head gently.

Hermione, seeing this, quickly added, "That's right, and with Jerry there, there won't be any danger. He'll protect me, Dad, so don't worry!" She said, gently shaking Mr. Granger's arm, hoping he would agree.

"Your mother and I will discuss it tonight!" Mr. Granger hesitated, glancing at Jerry secretly. No danger? I think this kid is the biggest danger!

...

Sunday afternoon, the sun gently shone on Godric's Hollow. Inside Dumbledore's old house, Jerry and Hermione packed their belongings and waited for Mr. Weasley to arrive in front of the living room fireplace. After Hermione's persistent pleading, the Grangers finally agreed to let her and Jerry go to the Quidditch match.

The Grangers' house is a Muggle house. According to the Ministry of Magic's laws, it is actually not allowed to connect to the Floo Network. Last time, connecting it to the fireplace in Dumbledore's old house was already a violation of the Ministry of Magic's laws! If it weren't for Dumbledore's request, Mr. Weasley would never have done it!

So this time, only the fireplace in Dumbledore's old house can be fully connected to the Floo Network. Jerry and Hermione can only wait here.

Before long, a flash of green light appeared in the fireplace, as if ripples of time and space gently rippled, and Mr. Arthur Weasley's figure appeared in Dumbledore's old house.

"Long time no see, Mr. Weasley!" Hermione and Jerry greeted him almost simultaneously, enthusiastically.

"Long time no see, Jerry, Hermione!" Arthur responded, but his gaze was involuntarily drawn to some of the Muggle items in the old house.

Godric's Hollow, this semi-wizarding settlement, always inadvertently reveals its unique inclusiveness—the harmonious coexistence of Muggles and magic. Hermione and Jerry's modern electric toothbrushes, and the electric lights in the room shining with a soft light, all became interesting sights in Arthur's eyes.

Just as Arthur was immersed in this novelty, the fireplace made a slight noise again. Then, the Weasley twins—George and Fred—like two energetic twin stars, arrived at the old house.

"This place is amazing!" After the two walked around the house, George took Fred's hand and looked around with shining eyes. "When I graduate from Hogwarts, I'm going to move out and live alone, and enjoy this free and easy life!"

"Come on, George, you know Mom wouldn't agree," Fred poured cold water on him, not taking it seriously. "And you don't have money!"
