Hogwarts: I will not become the Dark Lord
#308 - Beauxbatons and Durmstrang 3
“Sister, did you find him?” Fleur's sister, Gabrielle Delacour, held her hand tightly, asking with expectant eyes.
“I found him!” Fleur smiled happily at Gabrielle, then waved excitedly at Jerry, who was standing in the Slytherin ranks, and shouted loudly, “Jerry, long time no see! How are you?”
“I didn’t realize you were so charming that even Veela witches are so enthusiastic about you!” Snape turned his head, looked at Jerry standing in the fourth row with some surprise, and said sarcastically.
Jerry was surrounded by the sound of heartbroken students and waved awkwardly at Fleur.
Am I to blame for being charming? It's better than someone who doesn't have a wife and has to take care of his rival's children! Right, Professor Snape!
“Jerry, do you know Fleur Delacour?” Malfoy asked incredulously, thinking, 'Come on, man, leave some scraps for your brothers! You already have Ferres!'
“Mind your own business!” Jerry was too lazy to explain to Malfoy, “You know her, so why can’t I?”
You dog渣man, this is simply too much! I have never seen such a shameless person!
Malfoy was furious... just for a moment. I know Fleur Delacour, but she doesn't know me! Is that the same?
Alas... Slytherin has suffered Jerry Green for too long!
… …
“Have Karkaroff and them arrived?” Madam Maxime asked, looking around.
“He should be here momentarily,” Dumbledore replied gently, “Would you prefer to wait here for his arrival, or go inside and enjoy some warmth?”
“My students are almost frozen, let's go in and warm up first.” Madam Maxime responded with a smile, but then frowned slightly, “It's just those steeds…”
“Rest assured, our Professor of Care of Magical Creatures will take good care of them,” Dumbledore didn't see Hagrid's figure, “He is currently dealing with some trivial matters, but will return soon. It's about… well, a little trouble with other magical creatures he is responsible for.”
“My steeds, they require particularly strong hands to care for them,” Madam Maxime's tone carried a hint of imperceptible worry, seemingly reserving some judgment about Hogwarts' ability to care for them, “Their temperament is quite unruly.”
“I assure you, Mr. Hagrid is perfectly capable of handling this task,” Dumbledore said with a smile, his tone full of confidence, “He has unparalleled patience and skill in dealing with magical creatures.”
“If that's the case, then that's for the best.” Madam Maxime nodded slightly, then bowed slightly to Dumbledore, “Also, please be sure to tell Mr. Hagrid that these steeds only prefer pure malt whiskey as a drink.”
“I will personally remind him.” Dumbledore returned the bow and made a promise.
“Then, let's go in.” Madam Maxime turned around and said to her students in her characteristic majestic tone, leading them into the warm castle.
“Jerry, we'll wait for you in the Great Hall!” Fleur and Gabrielle waved goodbye to Jerry, then followed Madam Maxime's footsteps and stepped into the warm castle.
The students of Hogwarts still stood guard at the entrance, waiting for the arrival of Durmstrang. In the cold wind, many students were already trembling involuntarily.
Their eyes turned to the night sky, trying to capture the figure that had not yet arrived. The only sound that broke the silence was the occasional snort and hoofbeat from Madam Maxime's giant horses.
Just as this silence was gradually lengthening, a strange and low sound quietly approached from the darkness. It was a strange melody mixed with a rumbling roar and a sucking sound, like a huge vacuum cleaner moving slowly under the dark riverbed.
“Look at the lake! It's in the lake!” Lee Jordan's exclamation broke the silence, his finger pointing directly at the lake surface, and everyone looked in the direction of his voice.
Their position was just right to overlook the entire field. The lake surface, which was originally as calm as a mirror and pitch black, now seemed to be awakened by some mysterious force. The water surface began to fluctuate violently, and huge waves rolled, beating against the wet shore.
Then, a huge vortex appeared in the center of the lake, as if an invisible giant hand suddenly pulled out a huge plug from the bottom of the lake, and the lake water spun frantically, forming a deep black hole.
Before long, a heavy “thump” broke the surrounding silence. It was the sound of the anchor falling into the shallow water, and then, with a soft “snap”, a wooden plank was firmly placed on the shore.
The people on the ship began to disembark. Their figures were elongated in the dim light from the portholes, and their outlines were rough. At first glance, their figures were similar to Crabbe and Goyle, giving people a sense of stoutness.
However, as they approached step by step and stepped into the warm light pouring out from the entrance hall, everyone realized that it was the heavy fur cloaks on their bodies that gave them this illusion of stoutness. The hair on the cloaks was fluffy and messy, adding a bit of primitive and wild atmosphere.
Among this group of people, the leading man was particularly eye-catching. The fur he wore was different from the others, silver and white interspersed, with a soft and smooth luster, complementing his silver hair.
“Dumbledore!” The man stepped onto the slope and called out enthusiastically, “Old friend, it's been a long time!”
“It's very nice to see you, Karkaroff.” Dumbledore responded with gentle elegance.
Karkaroff's voice had a round and slightly sweet texture. When he stepped into the warm light cast by the castle gate, everyone could clearly see that he, like Dumbledore, was slender and tall. However, Karkaroff's white hair was cut very short, and although his goatee was slightly curly, it failed to completely conceal his well-defined chin, revealing a shrewd and capable aura.
The two met, and Karkaroff generously stretched out his hands and shook Dumbledore's hand tightly.
Then, Karkaroff's gaze turned to the magnificent castle, and a smile appeared on the corner of his mouth, revealing a mouthful of yellow teeth.
Although Karkaroff's face was beaming with a smile, the smile seemed to only stay on the surface. His eyes did not reveal any warmth, but instead maintained an unspeakable coldness and sharpness.
“That's great! Viktor, come over and let the warmth here dispel your chill. Dumbledore, you wouldn't mind, would you? Viktor seems to have caught a cold.”
After saying that, Karkaroff gently motioned for a student behind him to come forward. The boy's steps were steady and confident. Without any introduction, everyone recognized the figure.
