Hogwarts: I will not become the Dark Lord

#332 - Unpredictable scumbag!

Jerry vigorously kicked his webbed feet, each stroke accompanied by sharp pains from both sides of his neck. The lake water, once cool and pleasant, turned increasingly icy, all reminding Jerry that the magic of the Gillyweed was fading and he needed to hurry.

Just as the Gillyweed's effect was waning, Jerry burst out of the water, greeted by the long-missed, fresh, and cool air, which gently caressed his water-soaked face.

Jerry inhaled greedily, as if this was the first real breath of his life, each inhale accompanied by a deep gasp. At the same time, he held Hermione and Gabrielle on either side, swimming towards the shore with all his might.

Upon reaching the shore, Hermione and Gabrielle coughed out the lake water and slowly awoke, blinking their hazy eyes in the dazzling light. After safely entrusting them to Madam Pomfrey, Jerry quickly cast a Bubble-Head Charm on himself and, without a moment's pause, hurried back into the Black Lake.

"Jerry?!" Fleur, also using a Bubble-Head Charm to stay underwater, saw Jerry and a hint of surprise and hope flashed in her eyes.

"Stay where you are, grab the aquatic plants, and don't move! Leave these Grindylows to me!" Jerry calmly instructed Fleur. To prevent his spells from accidentally hitting Fleur, Jerry drew his yew wand.

"Thunderstorm!"

On the shore, after the safely returned group handed the hostages rescued from the lake bottom to Madam Pomfrey, they suddenly noticed waves rising in the Black Lake, with bursts of waves in the center of the lake. But today was a windless, clear day!

The students in the stands were also stunned, having just clearly witnessed a dazzling red light flashing across the bottom of the lake.

Fleur tightly gripped the sturdy aquatic plants at the bottom of the lake. The surrounding lake water suddenly turned violent, and a streak of bright red lightning, like dancing flames, spread wildly in the water, dyeing Fleur's figure and the aquatic plants with a fiery red. The thunderstorm raged through the Grindylows, its speed exceeding the limits of what the naked eye could capture.

The lightning intertwined, quickly weaving into an intricate web of lightning. The surrounding Grindylows had no chance to struggle; their existence vanished as quickly as morning mist, turning to ashes, ultimately leaving not a trace, not even a corpse.

Fleur couldn't help but swallow. She quietly looked up at Jerry in the thunderous domain above her, and an indescribable feeling surged in her heart. Jerry's figure at this moment made her feel so unfamiliar yet familiar, as if she had traveled back to the moment when they first met in France.

"Fleur, are you alright?" Jerry's voice interrupted her thoughts. He swam to Fleur's side and, seeing her still in a daze, couldn't help but ask softly.

"I, I'm fine! It's just that there are too many of these damn Grindylows!" Fleur stared at Jerry's face and quickly came to her senses. "There's no time left. We need to save Gabrielle!"

"It's all my fault. If I hadn't been showing off before the competition and had listened to you about using Gillyweed, these things might not have happened. If anything happens to Gabrielle, I'll never forgive myself!" Fleur said anxiously, her words full of regret and self-blame.

Before the competition, when Jerry asked Dobby to 'borrow' Gillyweed, he had also prepared a portion for Fleur, but unexpectedly, she had refused!

"Don't worry, don't worry, Gabrielle is fine," Jerry said quickly, comforting her. "When I went to save people, I noticed that you hadn't arrived yet, so I rescued that little girl and brought her ashore! She's fine now!"

"Really?" Fleur looked at Jerry, breathed a sigh of relief, and the heavy stone in her heart finally fell to the ground. "That's great! Thank you, thank you, Jerry!"

Fleur hugged Jerry's neck tightly, and the bubbles created by the Bubble-Head Charms on their heads merged into one.

"My dear, you saved me and my sister!" Fleur's hands gently caressed Jerry's face, and her lips lightly touched Jerry's lips. The two hugged tightly at the bottom of the lake.

Ten minutes later, when the crowd waiting by the lake began to seem a little anxious, Jerry finally appeared in the shallows, supporting a Fleur with slightly flushed cheeks, and walked towards the shore.

The crowd in the stands immediately erupted, with cheers and shouts intermingling.

Dumbledore, who was squatting by the water, talking to the mermaid chieftain Murcus, frowned and stood up. When Jerry's figure came into view, Murcus's emotions instantly became agitated. She pointed at Jerry and emitted a series of sharp and rapid mermaid words on the surface of the water.

Dumbledore smiled awkwardly. As a wizard who understood Mermish, he immediately responded in the same sharp but comforting Mermish. Then he summoned Professor Snape, briefly instructed him, and strode towards the judging panel.

Hermione and Gabrielle had been waiting for a long time. Wrapped in thick blankets, they rushed forward as soon as they saw Jerry and Fleur.

Hermione completely disregarded the wetness of Jerry's body and threw herself into his arms, tears and smiles intertwined on her face: "Jerry, it's so good that you're okay! I was so worried!"

"Don't worry, I'm fine!" Jerry took the dry blanket handed over by someone next to him, but he didn't put it on himself. Instead, he gently and carefully wiped Hermione's hair that had been soaked by the lake water, and said considerately: "Be careful, don't catch a cold!"

Fleur, who was holding Gabrielle next to him, glanced at Jerry, secretly cursing in her heart, what a scumbag who is impossible to figure out!

However, Fleur's interest in the competition now was far less than the surprise Jerry had given her. She was increasingly looking forward to what Jerry had promised her after the Triwizard Tournament. She was also becoming more and more curious about Jerry's true self, hidden beneath his calm and gentle exterior. What kind of person was the real Jerry Green?
