Hogwarts: I will not become the Dark Lord

#346 - I have been following your instructions!

The next morning, in the Hogwarts infirmary, Harry was curled up in bed, his head buried deep in the soft bedding. The injuries on his body had already healed, but he felt down and depressed. It wasn't entirely because of Voldemort...

Inside the infirmary, it was warm and cozy. Students from Gryffindor and other houses came to visit in a steady stream, including a fully recovered Cedric, with Cho Chang on his arm.

Harry reluctantly lifted a corner of the blanket, revealing a pair of eyes, and looked enviously at Jerry across the room. Hermione, Fleur Delacour, and a girl he didn't recognize, Katherine, were constantly around Jerry's bed.

Fortunately, Cedric's injuries weren't serious, and he had recovered and been discharged from the hospital last night. If only he and Cho Chang were like Jerry and those girls…

He had spent the whole night watching Cho Chang stay by Cedric's bedside, unable to avoid overhearing their whispers even though he didn't want to. Forget about Dreamless Sleep Potion, even if Madam Pomfrey had given him a powerful sleeping draught like the Draught of Living Death last night, he still wouldn't have been able to sleep!

Dumbledore also came to the infirmary early in the morning. He first glanced at Moody, who was still unconscious in the corner of the room, then went to Jerry and Harry, greeting them with a smile.

"Jerry, I've just confirmed with Poppy. She says you're free to leave the hospital at any time!" Dumbledore said gently. "Hermione, Miss Delacour, and Miss Feres, why don't you three go down to the Great Hall for breakfast."

"I'm fine now. You three go back first. I'll go to the Great Hall to find you after I'm discharged!" When Jerry heard Dumbledore's words, he immediately understood that he wanted to talk to him alone. They tacitly moved to the balcony outside the infirmary.

"Jerry, you're being a little too greedy!" Dumbledore said with earnest sincerity.

"Greedy? But I've always been acting according to your teachings."

"Me?" Dumbledore looked at Jerry, pondering to himself. Don't spout nonsense. He had indeed made many mistakes in his life, but he had never made a mistake when it came to matters of the heart. He had always been very faithful.

"Isn't it you who constantly tells me that love transcends magic and is the greatest power?" Jerry smiled nonchalantly. "What I'm going to face in the future isn't just Voldemort. So, according to your theory, if I can have more love, won't my power be even greater? I don't see any problem with that."

Dumbledore was momentarily speechless. Sometimes, he really thought that Harry's innocent appearance was quite good!

"Let's talk about Voldemort. What are you planning to do?" Jerry saw that Dumbledore remained silent for a long time and chose to break the silence.

"I've already sent Sirius out to notify the old friends of the Order of the Phoenix. Mr. Arthur Weasley, the father of the Weasley twins, has also decided to join us. However, Karkaroff has escaped, but Madam Maxime is wise. She has chosen to support us. Maxime is actually a half-giant, like Hagrid. She has agreed to my request and will go with Hagrid to persuade the giants during the summer, trying to convince them not to join Voldemort's ranks."

"It's just Fudge…" Dumbledore shook his head helplessly and sighed softly. "I didn't expect him to be so stubborn. After being Minister for Magic for thirteen years, Fudge is too greedy for the power in his hands now."

"I think you should be prepared," Jerry leaned on the railing, the cold wind blowing across his face, bringing a hint of chill. "Since Fudge has already parted ways with you, he will soon become the biggest obstacle to you stopping Voldemort from accumulating strength and announcing his return to everyone. Believe it or not, tomorrow's newspaper will portray you as a rambling, senile old man!"

"I know…" Dumbledore slowly turned around, his gaze penetrating the heavy shadows of the trees, reaching towards the distant, dark Forbidden Forest. His voice was full of heavy sighs. "Voldemort really did return within a year, just like you said last year, even though I took full precautions!"

"What's meant to come will always come. Since the things that have happened can no longer be changed, then we can only accept them!"

"Mr. Ludo Bagman, you seem to be avoiding me." After Jerry was discharged from the hospital, he ran into Bagman in the corridor.

"Mr. Green, I heard you were injured?" Ludo Bagman was cornered by Jerry. He squeezed a smile on his chubby face that looked more like crying. "I didn't expect you to recover so quickly. I was planning to visit you in the hospital wing later!"

"You should have made a lot of money from this competition, right?"

"Of course," Ludo Bagman nodded quickly, his plump body trembling slightly with nervousness. "I made a lot of Galleons this time. You get the lion's share!"

"Wait a minute, Mr. Green," Bagman hurriedly wiped the sweat from his forehead, took out a palm-sized notebook, flipped through it for a long time, and then stuttered, "Let me see, ah, found it. We won a total of eight thousand Galleons this time. According to the previous agreement, you should be given…"

"Eight thousand? I worked so hard, sweating and bleeding, and I only get eight thousand? Could it be that some damned, black-hearted mongrel embezzled it? I'll find someone to investigate it later. Don't worry, Mr. Bagman. Once I find out, I'll definitely skin him alive!" Jerry stood in place, his tone unkind, and his face gloomy as he looked at Bagman.

"Wait, Mr. Green, wait," Ludo Bagman quickly stopped Jerry, saying awkwardly, "I'm sorry, I just misread it. Mr. Green, it's not eight thousand, it's sixty-eight thousand Galleons!"

"Sixty-eight thousand?" Jerry frowned, his face still looking unpleasant. "Alas, it's not even a hundred thousand. It's really disappointing. Mr. Bagman, I hate gambling the most. This little bit of money makes my conscience very uneasy!"

As Jerry spoke, he shook his head in anguish.

"Ahem! Mr. Green," Bagman coughed lightly twice. Seeing Jerry's threatening gaze becoming increasingly unkind, he swallowed hard and said awkwardly, "I was too happy last night and didn't get enough rest. I was a little dizzy and didn't see clearly just now because something was blocking it. Now I can see it clearly. It's one million and sixty-eight thousand Galleons!"

"You don't need to deposit my share of the Galleons into Gringotts. After you get the Galleons, just send them over in a small bag with an Undetectable Extension Charm!" The gloom on Jerry's face vanished, and he looked at Bagman with satisfaction.

"Understood, understood." Bagman nodded repeatedly, his face full of obsequious smiles. "Mr. Green, you can rest assured that I'll handle things!"

"I'm reminding you, don't mix goblin coins into my Galleons." Jerry warned. Ludo Bagman had a previous record of using goblin coins, which disappeared at any time, to pay off gambling debts.
