Hogwarts: I will not become the Dark Lord
#359 - Jerry's deposit
As Fudge announced that the charges against Jerry and Harry were dropped, Dumbledore immediately stood up and hurried out of the courtroom. The members of the Wizengamot also stood up, discussing what had just happened while tidying up the documents in their hands.
The courtroom was noisy, and some even thought that the Ministry of Magic might be about to change.
Shacklebolt also stood up, respectfully removed his hat, and bowed slightly to Jerry, who was in the center of the room, before also leaving in a hurry.
"Jerry, why did Dumbledore leave so quickly? Did he have any instructions for us?" Harry's tone was full of surprise at Dumbledore's abrupt departure.
"He has too many things to do, he can't spare a moment!" Jerry explained, "Let's go tell Mr. Weasley the good news, he's waiting anxiously for us outside!"
"Can we really leave?" Harry took a tentative step towards the door, and when he saw that no one was stopping him, he quickened his pace, almost jogging.
"Mr. Weasley, all charges have been dropped." Harry announced with relief, "Jerry and I don't have to be expelled from Hogwarts!"
"That's great!" Mr. Weasley grabbed Harry's shoulders excitedly and said happily, "I knew you two would be alright!"
At this moment, the door of the courtroom opened again, and the members of the Wizengamot walked out one after another.
"Good morning, Arthur." Madam Bones stopped and walked slowly towards Jerry and the others.
"I've heard your name, Mr. Green," she said.
"Susan Bones?"
"That's right, she's my niece." Madam Bones nodded slightly, "She told me that you are the best student at Hogwarts, but today, in my opinion, you seem very different from what she described."
"I am indeed very good!" Jerry showed his confidence and pride without any concealment, "I think she must have described me as a Gryffindor, not a Slytherin."
Madam Bones stared at Jerry's slightly arrogant expression, and a strange sense of familiarity welled up in her heart. If she didn't know that Jerry was Dumbledore's grandson and didn't have blond hair, she would almost have confused him with someone else.
Fudge and Umbridge were the last two to leave the courtroom. Fudge held his back straight, his nostrils turned to the sky, and he swept past them expressionlessly, completely unwilling to pay attention to Jerry and the others.
Umbridge also restrained her false, sweet smile and glanced at Jerry and Harry with cold eyes, before following Fudge's footsteps and leaving.
"Hey, look at that toad-like witch…" Harry joked softly with Jerry, now free of the anxiety he felt when he first arrived.
"I have to hurry to Bessner Green, there was a prank against Muggles there, and I can also take you back…" Mr. Weasley said to Jerry and Harry as he went upstairs, but he suddenly stopped before he finished speaking.
They had just reached the corridor on the ninth floor when they saw Cornelius Fudge standing not far away, talking in a low voice with a tall man. The man had greasy blond hair, a sharp face, and a complexion as pale as paper.
Their footsteps startled the two men in conversation. The tall man turned around, narrowed his cold eyes, and stared fixedly at Harry's face.
"It's Lucius Malfoy!" The joy in Harry's heart vanished instantly. Under the gaze of Lucius's cold gray eyes, he felt a suffocating pressure.
The last time he saw these eyes and heard this voice was in the gloomy graveyard, when Lucius was wearing a Death Eater's hood and laughing mockingly.
Harry couldn't believe that Lucius Malfoy would dare to appear openly in the Ministry of Magic and talk and laugh with Fudge.
"Gentlemen, long time no see!" Lucius said with a false smile, "Oh, and Mr. Arthur Weasley."
Mr. Weasley held Harry's shoulder tightly, his eyes full of warning, signaling him to remain calm.
"Mr. Green," Lucius turned to Jerry, his tone with a hint of meaning, "An old friend asked me to greet you, I wonder if you have received his letter? He eagerly awaits your reply, and of course, even more hopes to meet with you."
"I don't have time. Minister Fudge just dropped the charges against me, and I was almost expelled from Hogwarts!" Jerry smiled.
"Presumably it was a temporary oversight by the colleagues of the Ministry of Magic, after all, Mr. Green, you are not this Harry Potter." Lucius glanced at Harry deliberately, full of sarcasm.
"Of course, if you have any needs, the Malfoy family is willing to do its best."
"How dare you show up in the Ministry of Magic?" Harry finally couldn't help but question.
"Potter, this is a private matter between me, a law-abiding citizen, and the Minister, it seems to have nothing to do with you." Lucius lightly brushed the front of his robe. His pockets seemed to be full of Galleons, making a slight jingling sound, "Mr. Fudge, I think we should go to the Minister's office to discuss in detail?"
"Of course," Fudge turned and said, "This way, Lucius."
They strode away, walking and whispering.
"I clearly warned Fudge that Lucius Malfoy is a Death Eater! Why doesn't he let the Aurors arrest Lucius?" Harry said indignantly, "Also, Jerry, what kind of… friend do you have with Lucius Malfoy?"
"That's not my friend," Jerry shook his head, "Dumbledore and he are bosom buddies!"
Since Voldemort's resurrection, his existence has only been worth as a pawn. If Jerry hadn't stopped it, this chive that had been planted for so many years would have been uprooted by the apostles long ago.
Jerry currently needs Voldemort as a stepping stone, and needs him to make waves in Britain and even Europe.
The Pure-Blood Party needs a young and powerful leader, so Jerry wants to step on this stepping stone to prove to those restless members within the Pure-Blood Party.
"We have to go back as soon as possible," Mr. Weasley looked around vigilantly, making sure no one was eavesdropping, "I have to tell others about Lucius coming to see Fudge openly today."
The group quickened their pace and walked towards the gate of the Ministry of Magic. Passing the fountain, Harry suddenly stopped.
"Wait a minute!"
"When I passed here this morning, I thought about it, if I wasn't expelled from Hogwarts today, I would throw all the Galleons in my pocket into this fountain!" Harry said, turning his money bag upside down, and about ten Galleons fell into the pool with a clatter.
Seeing this, Jerry also took out a few coins from his pocket, and after picking and choosing, threw a bronze Knut into the fountain.
Let's just say it's a deposit paid in advance. Next time I come to the Department of Mysteries of your Ministry of Magic, I won't be polite!
