Hogwarts: Wizards of Eternity

#171 - Can observe the future, but not fail.

“Grindelwald, is this what you wanted me to see?” Voldemort said expressionlessly, his fingertips tracing the slightly worn but strangely unsettling diary.

With a new and powerful collaborator, many things became much easier for him. The current Voldemort no longer needed to frequently change the skin he possessed, but instead had a more stable temporary body.

However, this collaborator also had aspects that gave Voldemort a headache.

If he trusted him, he could easily fall into his trap.

If he didn't trust him, perhaps that was also a trap.

Reliance and vigilance could both become tools for the seer to manipulate others' futures.

Voldemort also knew that there were loopholes in his contract with him, but there was no choice. He had to choose the lesser of two evils.

“You could say that.” Inside a department director's office at the Ministry of Magic, Grindelwald didn't look at the questioning Voldemort, but instead gazed at himself in the mirror, adjusting his temples.

“Showing me the methods I arranged being easily broken by that little seer, what's the point of that? Are you trying to pass my information to Dumbledore and them?” Voldemort questioned.

Faced with the Dark Lord's interrogation, Grindelwald simply chuckled: “Letting you slightly confirm the opponent's general strength can prevent you from doing some rash things, isn't it?”

“Don't think that you're the only one improving.”

“Dumbledore, Roger, and even the boy who lived—many wizards are advancing at extremely high speeds.”

“Just like ancient magic is being superseded by modern magic, a new era of magic is emerging. Think carefully about the methods Roger used in the Ministry of Magic.”

“...What exactly are you trying to say?” Voldemort had no interest in beating around the bush with the seer and directly asked.

“Time Gu, it is indeed a very powerful method, but if you completely rely on it, the gap between you and Roger will only widen.”

“If you don't want to give up your ideals, then it's time for you to embark on a new path as well.”

As he spoke, Grindelwald's gaze deepened.

His gaze, focused on the future, met Roger's, who was beside Hagrid.

Although there hadn't been much face-to-face communication, he and Roger did have some understanding between seers.

However, beyond that understanding, Grindelwald did have some of his own thoughts.

Anyone who can see the future always likes to leave themselves some backup plans.

Grindelwald was the same, especially after experiencing a defeat.

He couldn't lock onto Roger's future, but Grindelwald had seen many possibilities for Roger's future.

Death!

In those endless possibilities, he had witnessed Roger's various "deaths." He had seen hundreds of different ways he could die.

Grindelwald wasn't constantly paying attention to the future, so what he saw was just a drop in the ocean compared to 'reality'.

A normal person's fate could never be like this.

In Grindelwald's view, Roger would crash sooner or later. The only difference was whether it would be a few years or hundreds or thousands of years later.

If Roger had a problem, it would definitely cause terrifying consequences.

Although Grindelwald's ideals seemed incomprehensible to many and brought a lot of disasters, what he wanted was essentially a "new order," not destruction!

To avoid the worst consequences, Grindelwald wanted to prepare a "fuse."

“A new path? You should know—”

Voldemort was interrupted by Grindelwald before he could finish speaking.

“I understand what you mean.”

Everyone's magical talent and energy are limited.

Voldemort had already poured everything into his Time Gu.

And the fact that he couldn't defeat Dumbledore head-on in the past also showed the boundaries of his magical abilities.

The so-called new path sounds nice, but Voldemort simply didn't have the ability to put it into practice.

“That's why I brought you here.” As he spoke, Grindelwald looked towards the door.

Click.

The office door was opened, and a paper airplane flew in.

Inside the Ministry of Magic, paper airplanes were generally used to transmit internal information.

Muggle phones were more convenient, but there were too many magic-related things inside the Ministry of Magic, and sometimes fluctuations in power could cause signal interference, so they still used magical means of communication like this.

“Take a look.” Grindelwald handed the paper airplane to Voldemort.

Voldemort unfolded it and scanned it a few times.

“Isn't this just the follow-up to that previous matter?” Voldemort didn't find anything noteworthy.

The content on the paper was simple. It was just that Roger's Virtual Reality Technology Management Office had issued a document stating that they would be launching new pilot operations of virtual reality throughout the British wizarding world, hoping that the departments involved would cooperate.

Simply put, the internal testing was almost done, and they were about to start the public beta.

“Yes, but not entirely.”

Seeing Voldemort's unfriendly gaze, Grindelwald didn't continue to beat around the bush.

Although he didn't think he was beating around the bush. Many things inherently have two sides, especially from a seer's perspective.

“The new path I'm talking about lies within the virtual world that Roger is about to release.”

“In Roger's public beta version of the virtual world, there is something very interesting called 'Mana Element.' The essence of that thing is a special creature.”

“It can move according to a person's will, but it doesn't have its own will.”

“As magical creatures, they have magical power, and this power is not singular. They can do many things.”

“...So what?” Voldemort felt somewhat bewildered.

It sounded like a degraded version of magic, which seemed meaningless to him.

“Roger wants to create it in the real world and spread it all over the world.”

“In this process, you can completely hitch a ride.”

“The power to travel through time is so powerful. It would be a pity to only use it to have Horcruxes kill each other.” Grindelwald said meaningfully.

“Why don't you try creating a more powerful Horcrux!”

Then Grindelwald began to explain how to use Roger's virtual reality and Mana Element to accomplish this.
