Hogwarts: Wizards of Eternity

#66 - A turning point in world history

It was noon, and Roger, after busying himself all morning with revisions, finally finished writing.

Seeing that it was time for lunch, Roger headed to the school cafeteria with his notebook, which was as thick as a dictionary.

Because many teachers and students had gone home, the cafeteria was somewhat empty today.

The students who came to eat generally didn't eat much either.

Tonight, there was a Christmas banquet, and the various delicacies would be incredibly tempting, so most people chose to save their appetites for it.

But Roger didn't have that concern and ate as usual.

He no longer needed to rely on conventional eating to sustain his life, but when necessary, his digestive abilities could operate at a level capable of digesting metal, stone, radioactive materials, poisons, and more.

As long as he wanted, consuming over ten kilograms of food would be easy, so there was no need to go hungry for the sake of delicious food.

Just as Roger was finishing his lunch and preparing to leave, a large group of people swarmed into the cafeteria.

Leading the way was Harry.

Looking at his face, which was red from the cold, the unmelted snow in his collar, and the Gryffindors behind him with the same appearance.

Roger knew they had probably just returned from a snowball fight.

"Did you win?" Roger, who had finished eating, walked up to them.

"Of course, we won! We beat Slytherin to a pulp!" Ron, who was next to Harry, was even more excited than Harry himself.

Seeing his best friend display such power, he naturally felt honored.

"It was alright, it's just that Slytherin was a bit of a sore loser." Harry smiled as he recalled what had just happened.

After Roger's optimization of Harry's nervous system, his athletic abilities could be described as a rare talent of this era. Not only was he good at being a Seeker, but he was also good at snowball fights.

He could be called a 'heartless shooting machine'.

Before long, the Slytherin students' defenses were broken.

They began to draw their wands and cast spells.

They wanted to use a collective Levitation Charm to bombard them with snowballs.

But then, at a critical moment, Hermione shouted, 'Roger is here!'

The magic was interrupted by the conditioned response, and the levitating snowballs hit their own feet.

They were still lying in the snowdrifts now.

It was estimated that it would take them more than ten minutes to come over.

By that time, the cafeteria would have stopped serving food.

When that happened, Slytherin's Malfoy and others would either have to shamelessly ask the kitchen for food or not eat anything and be hungry until the evening banquet began.

"Ah, Roger, it's such a pity you didn't go." Hermione, who had also had a lot of fun, said with emotion.

Roger didn't say anything in response, just smiled and shook his head.

They could only have fun if he didn't go. If he went, many people would feel uncomfortable.

It was like a children's game; if the head of the teaching staff had to join in, it would only spoil the game.

Turning his gaze to Harry's face, looking at his smile, Roger felt relieved.

In the battle against Voldemort last night, Harry had gone with the determination to risk his life.

But in the end, when the battle ended, he learned that he could not get rid of his enemy in a short time, no matter what.

The psychological gap must have been significant.

Roger thought he would need to do some psychological counseling for Harry.

But now, it seemed unnecessary.

Today's Harry had grown into a brave man who dared to face hardships and would not be discouraged.

After chatting for a while, Roger said goodbye to his classmates and continued forward.

He left the cafeteria and walked towards the headmaster's office.

"So thick?" Dumbledore was taken aback as he looked at the notebook that Roger had just finished writing.

"Most of it is about my speculations on how to specifically operate it."

"The real core theoretical content is only this much." As he spoke, Roger made a vague gesture at one-tenth of the dictionary-thick notebook.

"I call this theory the 'Three-Dimensional Theory'."

"However, before I introduce it, I would like to ask you for a Christmas gift."

Dumbledore's eyes showed a hint of curiosity: "What do you want?"

This was the first time the little Seer had主动 asked him for something, which made him curious.

"I just want to do a simple little thing, but this little thing must have your permission."

"I want to temporarily leave Hogwarts and go to the Muggle world, and come back a few hours later."

At Hogwarts, even going home for Christmas requires unified registration. The registered students leave together, and return together by Hogwarts Express at the beginning of the semester. They cannot leave casually.

"A major event is about to happen, and I want to witness it," Roger said seriously.

Dumbledore widened his eyes slightly: "A major event?"

If an ordinary person had said this, he might not have taken it to heart.

But Roger was a Seer, and a Seer who had experienced the trials of war!

If he considered it a major event, what kind of event would it be?

"Where are you going?"

"Any place with a television will do," Roger replied.

"If you're interested, you can also come and witness it… Perhaps the Middle East International Secrecy Act issue that has been bothering you can find a solution from it."

"As for what exactly it is…"

"You will know soon," Roger said, rarely not giving the answer directly.

Boom!

This was the first time Roger had experienced a wizard's spatial movement magic, Apparition.

To be honest, it felt very bad, like Tom the cat from Tom and Jerry being stuffed into a two-centimeter small pipe and then restored.

This magic was not difficult for Roger, but Roger had never mastered it.

Because Hogwarts had magic that prohibited the use of Apparition, he simply had no way to practice.

Throughout Hogwarts, only Headmaster Dumbledore could Apparate and teleport, which was his privilege.

On Christmas Day, the streets of England were very lively, and the shops on both sides of the street were decorated with colorful lights.

From time to time, a Santa Claus in red clothes and a fake beard passed by. One of them, when passing by Roger, stuffed him with a small gift box.

Roger could sense that there were two pieces of chocolate under the wrapping paper.

Roger and Dumbledore bypassed the cheering children pulling their parents' hands, the embracing couples, and the playful young people gathered together.

Roger and Dumbledore ignored the hustle and bustle and went straight to a high-end hotel with satellite television.

Roger glanced at the hotel clock. It was almost 1 p.m.

One of the two poles of the world where a huge change would take place tonight was about 6 hours behind the UK.

Now, it was almost 7 p.m. there.

The television screen lit up.

A slightly balding, suited man with a map-like patch on the top of his head appeared on the television screen.

Appearing before Roger and Dumbledore.

"Dear compatriots, in view of the situation after the establishment of the Commonwealth of Independent States, I will terminate my…"
