#30 - Can't stand the anger

"Aaron, you've signed so few new artists. Look at the other agents; they can't wait to sign new people every week," Paula Wagner reminded him with a smile.

Aaron clinked glasses with her. "Didn't I just sign Jennifer Connelly? She had some fame before!"

At least, Jennifer Connelly is now the most popular artist Aaron has. Even director Steven Soderbergh can't compare, let alone Nicole Kidman from Australia.

Paula Wagner glanced subtly at Nicole Kidman in the distance. "Alright, as long as you can handle these relationships well. You did a great job with the agency for 'Sex, Lies, and Videotape,' 'Cinema Paradiso,' and 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.'"

"Are you going to continue looking for movie representation?"

"Both, I guess. After all, those who need representation are either newcomers in independent films or foreign films. It's not that easy to come across," Aaron said, not wanting to take on just any job.

"You didn't go to Venice. How about checking out the Toronto Film Festival next? There are only a few platforms for independent films these days, right?"

Aaron nodded. "I'll consider it. After Tony Scott finishes 'Days of Thunder,' will he develop the script for 'True Romance?'"

There was no other way; the script for 'True Romance' was written by Quentin Tarantino, who was under his management. Only when the script is adapted into a movie will it gain fame.

"Not so fast. Tony Scott directed Kevin Costner's action film 'Revenge' in the first half of the year and is currently filming 'Days of Thunder.'"

"The next project won't be decided until next year!"

Paula Wagner often went to the set of 'Days of Thunder' to discuss matters with Tom Cruise, so she knew more about director Tony Scott's situation.

Later, Aaron also spotted Kevin Costner, who joined CAA this year. Costner had founded a film production company called TIG, and Orion Pictures invested $15 million in his first directorial and starring work, 'Dances with Wolves.'

A grand Western film; $15 million certainly wouldn't be enough for him to spend.

"Alright," Aaron said, not wanting to wait that long for someone to develop it. However, Tony Scott's works seemed only to have 'Top Gun' as a good one.

'Revenge,' which had already been filmed, or 'Days of Thunder,' which was currently being filmed, were both mediocre!

A while later, Aaron, who was talking to Nicole Kidman and making her giggle, heard an untimely remark.

"Aaron, don't you feel any sense of crisis right now?"

"Hmm," Aaron turned around and saw it was his colleague Richard Lovett.

"I'll talk to you later," Aaron kissed Nicole on the cheek.

Then, Aaron and Richard Lovett went to the hotel balcony. Aaron lit a cigarette for himself. "Speak, what is it?"

Richard Lovett sighed. "Because of your arrogance, Warren Beatty and Dustin Hoffman are now targeting my people."

"You know, especially Dustin Hoffman's current status. Julia Roberts finally got a leading role, and 'Pretty Woman' is about to wrap up."

"Some of Julia's new projects have been affected!"

Aaron narrowed his eyes. "Are you out of your mind from sucking up to them every day? Now the male lead of 'Dick Tracy' is targeting the female lead of 'Pretty Woman.'"

"Instead of blaming those two old guys, you're blaming me, the hero who facilitated the development of the 'Pretty Woman' project?"

"Is this your first day in Hollywood? You're thinking of complaining at this time? What are you afraid of from an outdated old guy?"

"Won't it all be resolved when 'Pretty Woman' is released next year? What status does Julia Roberts have? What projects can she have?"

Richard Lovett's face instantly turned red from Aaron's scolding, looking incredulous. He pointed at Aaron. "Won't the people under you be targeted by others too?"

"Nonsense!"

Aaron threw away the cigarette butt. "The deals I've made in half a year have exceeded $10 million. An outdated actor plus a dwarf, targeting me?"

"What are they going to use to target me? After these two movies are released next year, these two wastes will have to call me Mr. Anderson!"

After speaking, Aaron directly left the balcony, leaving Richard Lovett alone in the wind, a mess.

What kind of person was Aaron? He couldn't stand being bullied!

In his previous life, he was a ruthless character who dared to pull a whole car of people to their deaths. Now, Richard Lovett, a small agent, what was he thinking?

After returning to the banquet hall, Aaron ran into the producer of 'Pretty Woman,' Steven Reuther, and the male lead, Al Pacino!

"What, don't you two have confidence in 'Pretty Woman?'"

Al Pacino smiled. "How can an actor not have confidence in their own work? During the filming of this movie, I felt that the story was not bad."

Steven Reuther also nodded. "Maybe there will be surprises next year!"

After all, 'When Harry Met Sally…,' which was recently released, gave many people surprises.

"By the way, Aaron, Coppola is preparing 'The Godfather Part III' with the gang, and there's a young girl's role in it, playing my daughter."

"Maybe I can recommend one of your actors to audition."

Al Pacino was repaying Aaron's favor from before.

"The daughter in 'The Godfather Part III?'"

Aaron nodded. "Thank you. I recently signed a young actress, Jennifer Connelly. I can let her try it out."

"She also filmed movies in Italy before!"

Aaron knew that Francis Ford Coppola and his crew were Italian immigrants. Actors such as Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in 'The Godfather' series were also of Italian descent.

However, Aaron remembered that the person who played the daughter in 'The Godfather Part III' was Francis Ford Coppola's daughter, Sofia Coppola, who even won a Golden Raspberry Award.

"I can only recommend her and get an audition opportunity. The person who can ultimately make the decision is still director Coppola!"

Al Pacino reminded him.

As 'The Godfather Part III' was in preparation, the producer and director were Francis Ford Coppola, and as the main character in the series, "Godfather" Al Pacino and Coppola were still discussing his salary.

"Understood. Having an opportunity is good enough. This is Coppola's 'Godfather' series! I don't know how many actors want to participate."

Having an audition opportunity was already satisfying for Aaron, at least to let Jennifer Connelly know that he was fighting for a role for her!

After Al Pacino left, Steven Reuther approached Aaron and whispered, "Dustin Hoffman and Mr. Michael Ovitz have met and discussed the misunderstanding between you and Warren Beatty."

"Dustin has a big reputation now, so you need to be careful in CAA."

Aaron just smiled and patted the other person's shoulder. "Don't worry, as long as we wait for 'Pretty Woman' to be released next year, the results will explain everything!"
