The sequence number uses a base-32 system, arranged in anchoring order, and does not reflect positional relationships.

For example, the solar system's number is: 1-1-1-1.

The first 1 represents the Milky Way Galaxy, the second 1 represents the Centaurus Arm, the third 1 represents the Orion Spur, and the fourth 1 represents the first star system anchored on the Orion Spur.

For another example, the number of a star system is 4A-3-2-2MS46.

The first field, 4A, indicates the 4Ath galaxy group anchored.

The second field, 3, indicates the 3rd main arm anchored in that galaxy group.

The third field, 2, indicates the second spur anchored on that main arm.

The fourth field, 2MS46, indicates the 2MS46th star system anchored on that spur.

The reason for naming according to the order of anchoring, instead of using positional relationships, is because all galaxy groups and galaxies are constantly moving.

For the large-scale universe, constantly adjusting the positional relationships of galaxy groups and star numbers would consume a great deal of computing power. Moreover, after a galaxy is anchored, wormhole technology can be used for space jumps, so the distance between galaxy groups and galaxies is not a concern.

In this case, the positional relationship between galaxy groups and galaxies is not that important.

The mission of the Asian Federation Discovery Fleet this time is to colonize the 1-1-0-1 star system and, starting from there, begin anchoring the Centaurus Arm.
