#133 - Klein in Peace (Part 2)

After comforting Mila until she fell asleep, Klein left the hospital and returned to the Jay's.

"Welcome back, Mr. Klein."

"Thank you, Mr. Hanlander."

With the same politeness and calmness, Klein walked into the Jay's as if nothing had happened.

Then, he stood quietly in the central square of the Jay's castle, looking up at the high tower, as if his father, Esmond, was also watching him.

Klein knew that even if he didn't go to find Esmond, Esmond would come to find him.

Some members of the Jay's stopped when they saw Klein and whispered to each other.

Some well-informed people already knew about Lance's death.

What kind of place was the Jay's? Talent was just a ticket to enter. And Lance, in the eyes of most people, was the best of the geniuses.

If it were a normal battle, even Joe of the Ancient Ruins would be weaker than him.

No one could have imagined that Lance, the top genius of the Jay's, the Demon Warlock, would be killed by a new member even younger than him.

How was it done? That was the question on everyone's mind.

Although it was said that Klein was Esmond's son, this kind of strength was too shocking, and many people held a skeptical attitude.

Around the age of 18, the human body is considered fully developed, and strength can enter a state of rapid progress.

Before the age of 20, although there were also professionals, very few exceeded Tier 1, and those at Tier 1 were basically so-called geniuses.

It wasn't a lack of talent, but that in the absence of full development, battle aura and magic power were generated very slowly, and the rate of strength improvement was very small.

Klein had just turned 21, and by all accounts, he had been in the Royal Academy for a year, and he had killed Lance, who was two grades ahead of him and a top talent of the Jay's.

There were many things worth studying here.

What level of strength did Klein belong to now? There were already many different opinions.

Some people speculated that he was purely a lucky opportunist, as described in the Security Bureau's investigation report, but others speculated that Klein's true strength had already surpassed Lance.

Following the people from the Executive Department, they arrived at the highest tower of the Jay's.

Esmond was still wearing that gray robe and still smoking, but Klein felt that the so-called father in front of him was even more unfamiliar.

"You guys can leave."

"Yes."

The sound of the door closing sounded, and Esmond also turned around.

"Your birthday party turned out like this, it's really a pity. How is Mila?"

"She's fine. Although she broke a lot of bones, there are no permanent, irreparable injuries."

Klein's voice was very calm and normal, and there was no emotion in it.

"Lance's matter was my mistake. I didn't expect him to have such a spy identity.

I have already personally explained the situation to the Flore family, and they will no longer pursue any other responsibilities.

So Klein, next, you should take a good rest. I will have someone take care of Mila."

Esmond didn't mention Klein's strength at all, as if he had completely forgotten about it.

Klein didn't leave immediately, but suddenly opened his mouth.

"Father, I want to join the Jay's Executive Department. I should be qualified now, right?"

Esmond's eyes lit up slightly. Finally, he was still angry? Very good.

Esmond first took a puff of smoke, as if considering it for a while, before opening his mouth.

"Of course you are qualified to join the Executive Department now, but the Executive Department is very dangerous.

There are often external tasks, escorting, espionage, assassination, or border wars, and monster extermination.

If you join the Executive Department, you may not have so much time for magic research. You have to think carefully."

Klein nodded.

"Yes, my magic research has entered a bottleneck.

Now I need some new breakthroughs, so I want to experience some unknown things, which will also help my magic research."

Esmond tapped the ash off his cigarette and then took another puff.

"The Executive Department conducts missions in teams. Do you have suitable teammates now?"

"As for teammates, Father, please arrange them for me."

"Okay, you go back and rest for a while. The Jay's Executive Department is currently being reorganized.

After the reorganization is complete, I will arrange everything and then have someone notify you."

Klein nodded again and turned to leave Esmond's room.

Esmond returned to his seat and continued to smoke, muttering to himself.

"Rare, I thought you wouldn't have emotions like anger!"

Klein left the high tower, recalling Esmond's expression just now.

"Father, I have finally embarked on the path you arranged. So, next, what will you have me do?"

With a slight smile, Klein walked downstairs.

...

After returning to the potion area, Klein did not return to his room first, but returned to the potion lounge and sat down in front of Marian's counter.

Many people knew about him and Lance, so the atmosphere in the potion lounge was somewhat strange for a while.

Marian was wiping the table with magic power, as if she didn't see Klein in front of her.

Klein didn't order a drink, but just sat there quietly waiting for Marian to finish wiping the table.

Marian brought Klein a cup of coffee and said.

"Klein, the first time you came, you drank coffee, right?"

"Yes."

"How was the drink I made?"

"Very good."

"Did you kill Lance?"

Klein was silent for a moment before speaking.

"Yes."

He could only answer that way, he couldn't say, Lance is now in a small bottle, and hasn't been released yet, right?

Marian took a few deep breaths, revealing an expression that she didn't know whether to cry or laugh.

"I thought you would explain it to me, but what kind of relationship do I have with Lance? Even if he died, it seems I have no reason to seek revenge!"

"Lance betrayed the Jay's, and he seriously injured my sister, so, I'm sorry, I couldn't hold back."

"Lance would never betray the Jay's! And he won't die, and you are not welcome here."

Marian said with gritted teeth.

Looking at the sad Marian in front of him, Klein secretly muttered in his heart.

[Senior Lance, you really are amazing at being a simp, you simped until you had everything!]

Klein didn't drink the coffee and got up and left.

Although he felt a little sympathy for Marian, there were some things he couldn't explain. The more he said, the more flaws there would be.

Even if he wanted to explain, now was not the time.

Moreover, it would be better for Lance to explain it himself.

It will be on the shelves next Friday, with more updates at that time. The amount of updates will also increase after it is on the shelves. Now I need everyone's recommendation tickets and collections!
