I'm a monster in Demon King's Castle
#120 - Bloody Corridor
The paper showed a map of the library. Although rudimentary, one could easily discern the three-story structure and the specific layout of each floor's small reading rooms.
The most conspicuous parts of the map were undoubtedly the two large corridors on the lower and middle levels of the library. In Lulu and Feifei's design, these corridors resembled two square, bloody maws. The ceilings, floors, and walls were entirely covered with demon wolf fangs, and with the tension of the binding threads and simple physical mechanisms, they could be completely sealed horizontally or vertically.
In other words, they designed the two corridors as death traps. As long as the mechanism was triggered, the enemy would be crushed into powder by sheer force and wolf fangs!
Even someone as thick-skinned as Bosh or Finley would find it difficult to resist the bleeding effect of the demon wolf fangs.
Mini and Mini truly weren't planning on leaving anyone alive.
At the same time, the edges of the design were adorned with three other types of traps: ground spikes, chandeliers, and binding nets.
Binding nets differed from barbed nets in that they didn't have bone spurs or demon wolf fangs at the connection points. They were purely for capturing and restricting the enemy's movement. Ground spikes, on the other hand, were bone spurs and demon wolf fangs standing upright under the floor. Once triggered, they would pop up due to the elasticity of the binding threads, inflicting fatal damage to enemies on the ground.

The "chandeliers" were similar—at the base of the library's original iron chandeliers, Lulu and Feifei planned to install some binding threads and attach sharp objects like bone spurs to the lamps, capable of smashing the enemy's brains out.
As Li Yue sensed the lines and descriptions on the design, the more he looked, the more he felt that the library itself had been designed by Lulu and Feifei into a monster, a huge, man-eating monster.
Even the walls were covered with demon wolf fangs? Wasn't this a bit indiscriminate?
It could only be said that Lulu and Feifei had taken skeleton aesthetics to the extreme and had made the most of all the materials Li Yue currently possessed. It even seemed to complement the unknown Thirteenth Reading Room?
All bones, sharp thorns, and bared fangs.
Li Yue didn't know what to say for a moment and didn't dare to criticize the two little ones. He could only communicate with them slowly: "Your idea is good… but have you ever thought… if it's made like this, someone could accidentally be bled to death?"
Li Yue had no problem with the design of the ground spikes, chandeliers, and binding nets, but he was particularly afraid of the demon wolf fangs all over the corridors on the middle and lower levels. He could imagine how many accidental injuries there would be in the library if it were really done this way… happening during Mini and Mini or the brain spirits' playing.
And the slave scholars… they would be scared to death if they saw it, right?
"Uh…" Lulu and Feifei looked at each other and scratched their heads.
But then again, Li Yue didn't expect Lulu and Feifei to come up with such a lethal plan in such a short time. They were indeed Mini and Mini, who were keen on "work"—the idea was good, but there was still room for improvement.
"But it's not impossible to solve…" Li Yue began to help them improve the plan.
"The general design and the design of the two corridors… can all be retained, but a layer of loose soil can be laid on top, pressed a little tighter, so as to avoid accidental injuries, at least so that people won't get their brains scratched when passing by…"
"Also, design a few safe areas for controlling the mechanisms… escape routes…" Li Yue began to write and scribble on Lulu and Feifei's design drawings, drawing a few secret passages that could only accommodate one person.
The library had been blown to pieces by two "Infernal Hearts," but it was also a good opportunity to re-plan the route. Everything could be overturned and restarted.
"Don't touch the Sixth Reading Room. Leave it for the slave scholars, at least until the next full moon…" Li Yue didn't think Tom was capable of keeping a secret in front of so many humans, and since he needed help, he would eventually let more slave scholars know about this secret passage. Perhaps he could give them a way out during the Demon Market.
As Li Yue drew, he quickly planned the defense works area and the monsters' living area, and tried to concentrate the Mini and Minis in the middle level of the library—there were three possible ways to enter and exit the library, of which the entrance and the Sixth Reading Room were on the lower level, and the upper level was blocked by the "door." On the contrary, the middle level was the least likely area to be disturbed.
As long as the closed-door training ended, the monsters might be able to live and work in peace and contentment on the middle level for 12 years.
As for the upper level of the library, Li Yue hadn't figured out how to use it yet—if the two sets of mechanisms on the middle and lower levels couldn't stop the enemy, the same mechanisms wouldn't necessarily work on the upper level. Moreover, there were still many uncertainties in the upper level area, such as the Soul Altar, such as the "cloak…"
It would be better to leave the upper level as an area to be developed and plan it in the future.
After making adjustments, the plan became more and more perfect, and Li Yue finally vaguely imagined a "safe" future, albeit temporarily.
The best thing was that the materials for arming the library… were mostly based on self-healing bones, which almost put Li Yue in a position of "absolute control."
Although he hadn't yet obtained the "authority" of the library, Li Yue was already the de facto emperor of the library.
"You did a great job," Li Yue praised Lulu and Feifei again. "These two corridors… are your ideas, so you can name them, how about that?"
Hearing that they could name the new library, Lulu and Feifei looked at each other and hugged excitedly.
"Lulu Corridor!" "Feifei Corridor!" "Brother Corridor!" "Meatball Corridor!"
Obviously, Mini and Mini were terrible at naming things. The two little ones called out for a long time and started fighting on the ground.
Seeing that Lulu was about to draw her sword, Li Yue hurriedly stopped her: "Forget it, let's just call it the Bloody Corridor…"
Li Yue thought the two little ones would be angry, but he didn't expect their little eyes to light up. They both thought the name was cool, as if they could already smell the bloody scent from the future echoing.
"Next… I have a question…" Li Yue's chuckle was a little weak.
"How many demon wolf fangs, how many binding threads, how many bones are you planning to use…?" Li Yue roughly estimated that such a huge project couldn't be done without 200,000 malice.
Right now, he only had a pitiful 5,000 or so. It seemed he had to take the time to collect another wave?
After killing Budi Boge, Bosh, and Finley, and subduing the brain spirits and slave scholars… Li Yue's source of malice had decreased too much.
Thinking of this, Li Yue suddenly realized a problem—why hadn't he seen those three types of "abhorrent," "remarkable," and "rebellious" for so long?
Clearly "extraction" and "completion" were still there…
"And how long will it take to finish?" Li Yue continued to ask new questions—if the workload was too large, so large that it would take a few years, it would be useless.
"Ten days!" Lulu and Feifei pointed to the earth and stones all over the ground and gave Li Yue material requirements.
Ten days to make two bloody corridors?
Li Yue was once again shocked by the Mini and Minis' hands-on ability, and he was skeptical: "Really?"
"Brother, don't you believe me?" Lulu and Feifei were instantly teary-eyed.
"Of course I believe you, but don't work too hard…" Li Yue was afraid that the Mini and Minis would forget to eat and sleep and kill a few more of themselves, which would outweigh the gains.
"Yes!" Lulu and Feifei saluted Li Yue, a human etiquette they had once read about.
"Then let's start! Call the brain spirits together to help you carry things and install the mechanisms." Li Yue also found some helpers for them—although the Mini and Minis' arms could be extended, the brain spirits' telekinesis was more effective in some construction processes.
Li Yue ran to the iron gate of the library and kept releasing self-healing bones, binding threads, and demon wolf fangs. Lulu and Feifei ran around to tell each other, gathered all the Mini and Minis, and started construction in full swing.
The situation in the library was heading towards unbridled.
