Seeing who had barged in, Oogie Boogie immediately retracted his flies, pretending nothing had happened.

The Grand Pillar with the crown hummed softly, taking no further action, but neither did he lower his head before the stalwart red figure.

Demon Commander, Bosh's father, the Lord of the Abyss Maw, Memphistos, had arrived in the Throne Room.

Bao'er floated over like a gust of wind but could no longer advance three zhang away from him.

"You're as fiery as ever ~" Bao'er giggled.

The tall, pure-blooded demon from the Abyss Maw slightly lowered his head, glanced at Bao'er, his teeth seemingly chewing on something; then he surveyed the long table in the Throne Room, his gaze sweeping over the red-robed Old Goat, the crowned human, and Oogie Boogie in his golden thread sack, finally settling on the empty throne, and then he sat down opposite it.

The heat radiating from Memphistos made Oogie Boogie itch all over, but out of pride, he refused to change seats, feeling utterly tormented, much like the meeting about to begin—Memphistos was undoubtedly the most steadfast Grand Pillar in advocating for a new expedition, and had been for centuries.

Only, under the pressure of the previous City Lord, this Demon Commander had never found powerful supporters, thus unable to shake the Demon King City's policies; but this time, the new City Lord's attitude was ambiguous, perhaps this was the closest Memphistos would get to the authority of a Commander.

From Oogie Boogie's perspective, of course, he didn't want the demon expedition to happen—if a decision to start a new expedition was made, not only would the coliseum's business be affected, but even the gladiators would be conscripted, greatly weakening the power of the King of the Coliseum.

Oogie Boogie's expectation was to maintain the status quo, preferably provoking the Abyss Maw to challenge the new Demon King, or even cause internal strife within Demon King City.

That way… Oogie Boogie could take the opportunity to annex authorities like the Library and the Casino, further expanding his power.

In Oogie Boogie's estimation, the Coliseum, Pleasure Spire, Casino, and Grand Altar among the Eight Grand Pillars should all be unwilling to launch a demon expedition, after all, these areas' "business" all had human involvement to some extent, and participating in the war would be more harmful than beneficial.

Fentus of the Forbidden Forest might be a madman, but as an important source of soldiers for the demon expedition, Oogie Boogie didn't think the Wolf King would support the war.

The "Treasury's" attitude was more ambiguous; Oogie Boogie couldn't understand the thoughts of the demon scribe Damon Kirk, nor could he guess.

The remaining "human" Grand Pillar was the crowned newcomer, which was why Oogie Boogie had been probing him just now—who was this guy, never seen before, and why could he sit at this long table?

Memphistos took his seat, and a faint scent of gunpowder began to permeate the Throne Room.

The Demon Commander leaned back in his chair, staring intently at the throne, as if the other pillars were unimportant; this was a negotiation limited to him and the City Lord.

Not long after Memphistos arrived, two more Lords of Authority came through the broken doorway together—one was the demon scribe dragging chains across the ground, Damon Kirk, Damon Benben's father, and the other was a bald die, rolling in.

The die rolled in and landed directly next to Oogie Boogie, seemingly quite close to this Gambling Demon.

"Hey, old fly, want me to calculate your luck for tonight? See if you can roll a 'snake eyes'?" The die showed a number, two snake eyes, a two.

"Calculate your ass, don't make trouble, whether your casino can continue to operate depends on tonight's results…" Oogie Boogie wanted to drum up support before the meeting started.

"What's not to operate? Wanna bet?" The die tapped the long table, "Bet whether the City Lord will launch a demon expedition, bet your life, starting from a thousand, you choose first."

"I won't give you a chance to confiscate my luck." Oogie Boogie shook his head, needing it very much tonight.

"You can't defeat fate, giving you more luck is useless, hehehe." The die jumped up and down, but when Memphistos frowned slightly, it immediately didn't dare to make noise and quietly placed itself on the chair.

Damon Kirk, upon entering the Throne Room, did not take a seat, but quietly stood next to the throne, waving the feather pen and parchment in his hand, beginning the meeting minutes.

"Grand Pillars… arrived in the Throne Room at the red hour of the fourth full moon in the Kayleigh year 299…" As Damon Kirk put down his last stroke, a giant wolf suddenly appeared to the left of the throne, about the same size as Memphistos, occupying a large area of the Throne Room.

At this point, the eight Grand Pillars of the Forbidden Forest, Pleasure Spire, Coliseum, Grand Altar, Human, Casino, Abyss Maw, and Treasury were all present.

"Hmm…" The Wolf King Fentus seemed to sense something was wrong, looked at Damon Kirk next to the throne, didn't delve into it, but turned his gaze to Bao'er opposite him.

"Is the Closed Combat Training over? I'm looking for a skeleton." The reason Fentus was the last to arrive in the Throne Room was because he had been delayed by questioning the little wolf.

Originally, the little wolf should have killed Boodibooge tonight, so that the Wolf King could enter the Library and avenge his son Finley; but the little wolf had failed the Wolf King's expectations and let the Lord of the Brainlings escape, and Fentus could only talk to the City Lord face to face at this meeting.

At this moment, the little wolf was bloody and hung by Fentus on the highest treetop in the Forbidden Forest, basking in his favorite moonlight.

"Oh, Skollgrek?" Bao'er covered her mouth and smiled, "I heard he's a very troublesome Demon Son… I really want to see him, but he seems to be avoiding me…"

"He killed my son, I want to kill him myself." Fentus tapped the long table lightly with his huge wolf paw.

"Hmm~ Not just your child, the number of Demon Sons doesn't add up, there are four missing~ This year's students… are very lively." Bao'er glanced at Memphistos meaningfully, while the Wolf King frowned slightly, seemingly understanding Bao'er's subtext.

Memphistos was still staring straight at the throne, only annoyed by their noise.

When Oogie Boogie heard Fentus and Bao'er's conversation, he subconsciously thought of the bones on Boodibooge, and then… suddenly felt that his grand plan to annex the Library seemed to have been preempted by the Skeleton Clan?

Skollgrek cooperated with the Lord of the Brainlings, each taking what they needed?

One Lord of the Brainlings guaranteed to reach the end in the Slaughter Cup, and another Demon Son eliminated the enemies in the Closed Combat Training?

This skeleton is so evil…

Li Read certainly didn't expect his existence to be mentioned on such an occasion, and was still waiting for Boodibooge's return in the Library, waiting for possible enemies to arrive.

"Shut up, stop arguing…" Hearing the buzzing at the long table, Memphistos slowly moved his lips, revealing a mouthful of fangs, ending the conversation at the long table.

"Hey, your son also died, don't you have anything to say?" The Wolf King seemed to be… the one among the Grand Pillars who feared Memphistos the least.

"Died? Oh…" Memphistos seemed to finally recall a "request" from his 977th son, but his eyes still didn't leave the throne, "He was too weak, he should have died."

There were many sons, Memphistos didn't care about this one at all—he only cared about when the Demon King would appear.

"A Demon King City that is too weak… should also die." Memphistos added.

Fentus gritted his teeth, feeling the Demon Commander's firm stance.

Just as Memphistos finished saying this, the City Lord's figure suddenly appeared in front of the throne—his face was pale, but he had changed into a gorgeous robe, walking up the steps step by step with his back turned.

"I have decided to dispatch a demon expedition." The City Lord announced his decision as soon as he sat on the throne.

The Demon King's decision.
