Marvelous Marvel Journey
Chapter 164 Obligation?
A meeting for command of the Avengers.
Li Wei couldn't understand whether anyone could really get the command. This was not a military organization, and there was no strict superior-subordinate relationship. It's just a bunch of ruthless alliance organizations.
Whether it's the Pentagon or the Security Council, why do they think people like them will follow their orders?
The strangest thing is that the representatives of SHIELD have remained silent. Levi turned to look at Victoria Hand. This woman with her hair styled very fashionably has been silent, and the expression on her face has not changed.
It was as if she didn't care who was in charge of the Avengers.
SHIELD is a legitimate manager, but judging from their behavior, they should have given up this right.
Victoria Hand's assistant Lisa asked in a low voice: "Director, why don't we talk?"
"It's not necessary. Tony Stark made a wrong decision, but he will correct it soon. We are just here to witness, there is no need to participate." Hand said calmly.
As Hand said, Tony Stark asked General Ross a question.
"Who funds the Avengers?"
Ross glanced at Tony Stark strangely, "Isn't it sponsored by Mr. Stark?"
This was really a stupid answer, and Tony Stark despised General Ross in his heart.
"No, no, no, what I sponsor is a private alliance organization, not a government agency. It is better for government agencies to spend government money, otherwise it will not be a good thing to be targeted by the Ministry of Justice."
The scene suddenly became a little cold.
The Avengers, led by Steve Rogers and Tony Stark, is not an official organization. It is just a voluntary group of superheroes. Legally speaking, as long as this group abides by relevant laws, no one can interfere with them.
The meaning of Stark's words is very clear. If you want to control us, you have to support us first.
Ross thought for a moment. It wouldn't be a problem if the military paid for it. He didn't believe that the Avengers could spend more than an army division.
"The military deliberately provides funding."
The people from the Security Council took a look at the people from SHIELD and then suppressed what they wanted to say. They had to study the reason why SHIELD had been silent.
"The military is really generous, let's talk about the treatment."
Tony Stark continued.
"The Avengers is a loose organization with no rules. It just does research and fights aliens. So, when something happens, and whoever is free and willing to go on a mission, the Alliance will give it to them. After all, providing certain subsidies in addition to task costs cannot allow people to work for free.”
Everyone listened to Tony Stark very carefully.
Only Captain Steve Rogers frowned, he didn't quite agree with Tony's words. This is an organization that maintains world peace and blocks external threats. This is not a mercenary organization. How could it be like this?
Levi was not sleepy at all now, and listened to the quarrel with great interest. He had never seen this kind of drama in his previous life.
"Then, Mr. Stark, please tell me how to position the treatment of the Avengers." Ross had a bad feeling in his heart. Who are the Avengers? Billionaire Tony Stark, Asgard's Crown Prince Thor Thor Odinson, the Great Demon of Fear Levi Dimon and the others are not that big of a deal. How should the treatment of these three be determined?
Tony Stark didn't play any tricks this time, but said happily:
"Since you are willing to participate, you should know the special nature of the Avengers' identities. It is difficult to quantify a suitable reward. So I have an idea, which is a task platform with rewards attached. Anyone who has time to do it can take it. Come down. What do you think?”
Levi laughed directly. Tony is also in great loss, who would do such a thankless thing for money.
General Ross opened his mouth, but he had not yet thought of what to say.
Captain Steve Rogers stood up.
"That's enough, Stark."
This sentence was strong enough, and Tony frowned at him.
"We are Avengers, not clown-like mercenary soldiers who must obey orders."
"Oh, I'm not a soldier, I'm a civilian."
Captain Rogers paused. He really ignored this. Among these powerful guys, he was the only soldier. The others only had two SHIELD agents, one of whom was still disobedient.
Tony Stark was already mentally scolding Steve Rogers. Since you love to follow orders so much, why should you strive for the initiative?
Levi has similar thoughts. Captain America is a very contradictory person. He believes that soldiers should obey orders. On the other hand, he believes that no one can order him because those people are politicians. He wants to order himself. Others use morality to kidnap others, but Captain America uses morality to kidnap himself. What he thinks must be done must be done even if everyone is alienated from him. He does not need others to agree with him, he only needs to agree with himself.
Levi was curious what Captain Rogers would say.
"The Avengers are an army," Rogers said.
This argument probably doesn't support him among the Avengers. He was interrupted before he finished speaking.
"Captain may have misunderstood something." Tony Stark said expressionlessly: "Avengers is a plan, and look at the members of the Avengers. Me, Thor, Levi Dimon. We are the rich, princes and Demon King. He has nothing to do with soldiers."
Tony Stark didn't give anyone a chance to interrupt, and continued: "Bruce Banner, the mighty Hulk, has many conflicts with the army. Who else is there, Clint Barton, Dustiny Brooks, They're all agents, SHIELD. Only you, Cap. Only you are a veteran."
Levi felt that the word "retired" was the key point.
"The Avengers have such power." Steve Rogers did not agree with Tony's statement at all. He believed that since he joined this organization, he must obey the creed of this organization.
"Captain, you can't force us to join the army just because we have such power."
Tony felt very aggrieved. I was fighting for the freedom of the Avengers. I had nothing but good things to say. How could Steve Rogers be against me?
Although the excitement seemed interesting, Levi felt that there was no point in the two of them arguing.
"I think this meeting can be concluded."
Levi's words made everyone turn their heads and look at him.
He was not timid in the face of so many eyes. He stood up slowly, looked around and said calmly:
"We rallied to fight against the Chitauri when they invaded. Perhaps this has made you misunderstand something. What I am saying is that those things are not our obligations."
