Hogwarts White Knight
Chapter 37 Weasley Brothers and Filch
It was already late at night when Gawain walked out of Snape's office.
"I'm not going to eat any damn figs for at least three months."
Gawain crossed his fingers and crawled out along the underground passage of the castle.
He had expected Snape to show him the many wonders of potions, but ended up spending the entire evening handling baskets of shrunken Abyssinian fig shells.
——It is a dry fruit with a hard and difficult-to-peel shell, but it is a very good potion ingredient and can alleviate reactions.
Of course, he didn't gain anything.
When Snape was grading homework for senior students, he would occasionally use him as an answering machine to judge the mastery of those fools he called "empty heads that could even fill the Great Hall." And when he failed to answer or made a mistake, Snape would correct him mercilessly and ask him to copy everything into his notebook.
"If even first-year students can answer the questions correctly, then if I judge idiots who can't answer the questions, I'm already looking down on them," Snape said matter-of-factly.
Although Snape's venomous tongue remained the same as before, Gawain discovered that many of the contents he taught were different or even completely different from what was recorded in the textbooks.
As for the afternoon trip to the library, it was difficult for him to say whether it was a success or a failure.
The coup in Albania undoubtedly took place very secretly. Even if he borrowed the Daily Prophet from the library administrator Mrs. Pince for three years, he could only find a few specious records in the international edition.
"According to the executive member of the International Federation, there are traces of black magic rituals used in the coup. But unfortunately, it can no longer be traced back to the source."
In addition, he saw an interesting story in a travel brochure published by the Albanian Ministry of Magic.
"There is a mysterious evil beast hidden in the forest. Legend has it that it lives in the caves in the deep forest and will devour every life it sees. No living person has ever witnessed it, but people do enter the forest from time to time. Tourists disappeared mysteriously and even their luggage was left behind in the hotel.”
Although Gawain couldn't understand at all why there was a Ministry of Magic in such a pitiful place with a small wizarding population. But the story, and a summary of its appendices, stuck in his mind.
"Maybe we need to explore some more information channels?"
Gawain thought.
Although it seems that Professor Quirrell is at most just relaying a story that does not belong to his experience, Gawain always feels that there is something wrong with that person.
It’s not just smelly garlic and turbans.
As for the "flaming" spell, it does not appear in any of the standard spellbooks.
Although Hermione guessed that there might be records in the Forbidden Zone, Gawain could not think of a way to enter the Forbidden Zone and how to find this spell in the vast sea of books in the Forbidden Zone.
"Perhaps I should ask Professor Flitwick?"
Gawain jumped over a flight of steps and came to the passage on the third floor. He turned around the corner and walked along a long corridor towards Gryffindor Tower.
A rush of footsteps sounded, causing Gawain to stop.
The wall next to him split apart, revealing a hole as high as a man. From that hole, two boys ran out panting.
One has red hair and the other also has red hair.
"Hey, are the first graders taking a walk?"
One of them greeted him with a smile.
"I tell you, this is not a good time, that old dog Filch."
The other tapped the first on the shoulder.
"Always have a very sharp nose."
they said in unison.
"Are you...Fred and George?"
Gawain quickly remembered their names.
The Weasley twins.
There is probably no one in the entire Hogwarts who doesn't know them, but no one can recognize them either.
"I'm Fred."
"I'm George."
&n
bsp; They stretched out their hands to Gawain, and Gawain shook hands with them one by one.
"My name is Gawain, Gawain White. What are you doing at this late hour, are you taking any risks?"
Gawain asked curiously.
"Ha, Filch confiscated some of our gadgets because of our recent 'reckless behavior.'"
"But life can't be without fun, and we want him to understand that fun."
"So we just passed by his office."
"It also added a little bit to his collection."
"But he seemed a little too happy."
"Want to join our ranks."
The two of them spoke one sentence each, but in Gawain's opinion, it could be summed up in a simple sentence.
——"They took revenge on Filch and are being hunted."
At this moment, footsteps sounded from the corridor behind them. One is high, the other is low, and there is a "bang in the frame" along the way.
That was undoubtedly Filch.
"So, Junior Gawain, it was a pleasure talking to you."
"But we still have..."
Before George could finish speaking, he froze there, and Fred looked over.
At the other end of the passage, a dark gray cat was lying on the ground. It was skinny and had its mouth half open.
"Mrs. Norris..."
Like a desperate sound coming from the belly, a pleading appeared on the twins' faces.
But it makes no sense.
"Meow!"
The cat howled loudly, like fingernails scratching on a blackboard.
To make matters worse, the hidden passage they came from is a one-way door...
"Gawain, remember to take their ashes with us."
"Together with the wand, give it to our mother."
The twins said sadly, while taking out many strange things from their pockets, along with a piece of tattered parchment, trying to stuff it to Gawain.
But Gawain refused and pushed back the messy "thief's loot".
"Maybe there's something I can do to help you?"
He scratched his head and took out his wand from his pocket.
When Filch, the castle manager, appeared from around the corner a few seconds later, he saw a scene he couldn't understand.
——Mrs. Norris, who was usually not close to anyone except him, was lying on her back on the ground, catching a ball of light in the air with her two front paws, and opened her belly to let a boy "play" with it.
"Who are you?! Why are you still wandering around the castle so late at night!"
Filch almost trotted to Gawain and picked up Lady Norris.
"Mr. Filch, this is Gawain White. I just came out of Professor Snape's office. This is his note."
Gawain took out a piece of paper from his arms, which contained his special permission to return on Friday night. Filch snatched it away and carefully examined the writing on it, trying to find any suspicion of forgery.
"I accidentally noticed that your cat seems to be malnourished?" Gawain put away his wand, took out a canned cat and opened it.
Mrs. Norris's eyes lit up almost instantly, and she struggled hard in Filch's arms.
"How is that possible! I feed her the best cat food you can buy in Hogsmeade every day!"
Filch's face swelled up as if he was seriously offended.
But his words instantly made Gawain understand.
Filch doesn't understand anything at all!
"You... idiot! Cat food is indeed made for cats, but cats can't just eat cat food! Especially the stupid recipe in Hogsmeade that may have been used for dozens or hundreds of years!"
Gawain put the cat can in front of Mrs. Lorris, and she almost couldn't wait to get close to it.
"Listen, you're not the one raising cats!"
