Hogwarts White Knight

Chapter 40 Ravenclaw’s Library

Gawain almost shuddered when his name was suddenly called out, and British swear words were about to blurt out.

"Senior Penello? Why are you here?"

Gawain asked with a surprised look on his face. He thought this side of the door would be a hidden place.

"I... just stayed a little late in the library. What's the business of coming to the Ravenclaw common room so late?"

A hint of blush appeared on Penello's cheeks, and she stiffly wanted to change the subject.

This is the Ravenclaw common room.

It seems that the senior sister just did something embarrassing.

The room just now seemed to have a story.

Three thoughts flashed through Gawain's mind instantly, making him feel that the amount of information at this moment was huge.

"Ok?"

He subconsciously touched the door knocker behind him, only to find that it had disappeared at some point.

"You are also here to visit the Ravenclaw library, right? There is no need to be embarrassed. Although it is a bit late now, the Ravenclaw library will always be open to all those who yearn for wisdom."

Penelo suddenly showed an expression of "I know", but did not guess what Gawain was thinking at all.

Her words reminded Gawain.

"Yeah, but I didn't find where it was?"

Gawain scratched his head.

After being honed by Elsa, this is probably his most skilled skill.

After all, who wants to punish an innocent, pitiful, and handsome boy?

"Actually, you've already seen it."

Penello chuckled and pointed to the niche behind the statue of Rowena Ravenclaw.

"You don't think it's like a library, full of bookshelves and tomes, right? It was just a small collection left by Ravenclaw himself at first, and it was later added to it by many students. The name of the library."

She explained patiently, and it was obvious that this was not her first time.

"In other words, are there any works left by Rowena Ravenclaw herself?" Gawain followed Penello's steps and walked to the alcove, carefully checking the books inside.

The Many Uses of the Moonglass and the Principles of Charms, by Poppetua Fancott; a discussion of the use of smoke on the wand, by Rocken McLean; and Gawain's most puzzling one, called The Prophecy Based on the Whereabouts of Egg Yolks Explore, no attribution.

If he remembered correctly, Popetua was the inventor of the telescope, and was even pictured on a chocolate frog picture because of his outstanding achievements; and Rocken McLean... was an eccentric...

Minister of Magic.

As for the egg yolk?

Who knows what the Ravenclaws are thinking!

"Of course, not everyone's research can be accepted into this library." Penello's eyebrows raised nicely.

"But like many other books, there is no signature left by Ravenclaw himself. So maybe you need a little luck, or better than luck, superior wisdom!"

"Who's the lucky boy?"

Gawain asked suddenly and abruptly.

"Percy and I are just...juniors!" But Penello quickly reacted, "It's not gentlemanly enough to pry into a lady's secrets like this!"

But enough had been said.

"Ahem, let me tell you a secret. Don't tell anyone else about this. Is it a deal?" She rolled her pretty eyes and glanced at the bookshelf in the alcove.

Gawain naturally nodded in agreement.

He's not that boring.

Besides, Percy is not a mean, twisted, cold guy like Professor Snape. It is not a novel thing for girls to like him.

Although Gawain also couldn't understand how Penelo could fall in love with that too serious guy.

"This is

I discovered it when I was in first grade. Ms. Rowena Ravenclaw had left a small book here... um... should I say a picture album?

It has a blue cover and is engraved with an eagle. But you may be a little disappointed because no one understands the content inside. "

Penello smiled slyly, seeming to have seen Gawain's disappointed look, "Then, little brother, just take your time and watch, remember to go back early."

"Good night, senior."

After bidding farewell to Gawain, Penello walked briskly up the stairs to the second floor.

"A Ravenclaw picture album?"

Gawain himself stood in front of the niche, rummaging through each book carefully, and it didn't take him long to find the picture album.

As Penello said, it is a small volume, very inconspicuous, with an eagle's head painted on the blue cover, which just looks a bit chilling.

His blue eyes were as sharp as knives.

"No matter what, I and my thoughts are always walking on their heads; even if I step on my own mistakes, I am still high on their heads."

On the title page, the original owner wrote an extremely arrogant words in dark green handwriting.

Although the album is not thick, it only took Gawain a minute or two to read it all. It's not that his wisdom has surpassed that of Ravenclaw himself, but that he doesn't understand it at all.

He finally understood why he was dragged to Gryffindor even though he said Ravenclaw during the sorting.

— but in an unpleasant way.

In the album, there are large groups of black lines, intertwined and scattered into patterns whose meanings are incomprehensible.

He was sure that the "Evans" notebook in his dragon skin pocket was definitely connected to it.

It wasn't until he turned to the last page of the album that Gawain saw something he could barely recognize.

In a word.

“Knowledge fills you with information, wisdom makes you lose yourself.” Rowena Ravenclaw wrote in Old English.

For some reason, Gawain felt uneasy.

After staying for a while, Gawain put the album back on the bookshelf, left the Ravenclaw common room, and walked quickly down the spiral staircase.

——All the portraits in the corridor have fallen into a deep sleep, even the usually surly Jenny with green teeth has her head hanging down.

Gawain carefully bypassed the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor's office, where a strange sobbing sound was coming from inside, and then used a secret passage to let Professor Flitwick walk back with a cup of coffee.

He wanted to avoid the right-hand corridor on the fourth floor.

According to Fred/George, they once sneaked into that corridor, and there seemed to be a huge beast sleeping in the innermost room, and its snoring alone could shake up the dust on the ground.

However, before they could fully explore, they bumped into a sullen-looking Snape, who drove him away and deducted Academy points.

He had already experienced too much today, and what he needed now was a solid natural awakening, rather than embarking on a great adventure again.

"Dragon scum."

It wasn't until half an hour later that Gawain finally returned to the warmth of the Gryffindor common room.

After changing into his pajamas, he buried his face into the pillow and gently touched the abyss that woke him up.

After taking the potion of living hell, Gawain falls into sleep.

ps1: American swear word sob, British swear word bh (bloody hell)

ps2: For the Ravenclaw common room, refer to its welcome speech, and for the information section of the library, refer to pm. The authors of the three works are all characters who appear in the introduction, among whom Rocken McLean has been confirmed to have been the Minister of Magic.

ps3: It is not mentioned in the book when Penelo and Percy started, but they were already in love in the second part. So I think there are already signs in the first part, such as study groups or clubs.

ps4: Jenny the Green Teeth is a witch in English folklore. She has green skin and sharp teeth. She likes to drag old people and children into the water. Some say she eats them.
