Hogwarts White Knight
Chapter 52 Little Candy
The Defense Against the Dark Arts offices are not far from the classroom. Gawain and Professor Quirrell arrived at his office without taking a few steps further.
Pushing open the wooden door bounded by thick black leather, Professor Quirrell walked in first and turned around to wait for Gawain.
"This is my office, please, please sit down. Tea? Or some coffee?"
Professor Quirrell stammered, falling back to the table.
"Tea, Professor, thank you."
Gawain sat down on the chair opposite.
He originally thought that Professor Quirrell's office would be dark-colored, with weird drawings of magic circles on the walls, or figures of struggling figures affected by black magic, or even various bottles. Jars, filled with many colorful organs.
But here it actually looks...
Very...warm?
This office is in a typical old country style, with rounded-cornered wooden coffee tables, khaki carpets, and coffee-colored wicker chairs dotted around it, making it look stylish and refined.
Even during the day.
The fireplace is also burning brightly.
On the shelf in the corner, there are several exquisite hand-knitted scarves hanging. Some very fine specimens of wild flowers hang on the walls.
"You, you seem a little surprised? Gao Gaowen, can I call you this? Sugar? Milk?"
Professor Quirrell took the teapot off the fire, poured it into small cups, and picked up the teaspoon from the milk jug.
"Of course. One spoonful of sugar, two spoons... um. No milk. Thank you, Professor."
Gawain took the teacup, held it in his hand, and took a sip.
The tea is very fragrant, with an almond flavor, but also very bitter.
Not his taste.
"No, you're welcome. More than ten years ago, I was a student at Hogwarts just like you. La Ravenclaw, ha. Look how fast time flies."
Professor Quirrell poured himself a cup of tea. He did not add sugar or milk, but poured a little brown transparent liquid from a small jar.
He drank it all in one gulp and stretched his face comfortably.
But what he said was indeed correct. Gawain secretly looked at the picture frame on the table.
——It was the young Professor Quirrell holding the wand and smiling brightly.
Back then, he had a hairline.
"When I first entered Hogwarts, I was curious about everything and wanted to try everything. Of course, I am different from you. I am not as brave as you, and I don't have any talents worth bragging about."
After drinking the tea, Professor Quirrell seemed to be in much better condition, and even his stuttering was significantly improved.
"After graduation, I mean before Dumbledore invited me back to Hogwarts, I went traveling and discovered many secrets. I could see it in your eyes that you were a lot like me and wanted to have power , take control of your own destiny.”
Professor Quirrell flicked his wand on the table, and a lot of parchment flew out of his drawer.
They are stacked on the table.
"Most of them are old and worn. They seem to have been soaked in some kind of liquid. Is it related to black magic?"
Gawain secretly guessed, but did not reach out.
“If you’re interested, take a look at them.
That's real power.
Powerful enough to make you stand above everyone, even the principal. "
Professor Quirrell's wand drew arcs in mid-air, forming gray and black symbols one after another.
"Spells, rituals, transformations, curses, alchemy. Think how great you will become?!
All it takes is a tiny price to pay, and you don’t even have to pay that! "
His voice didn't sound stuttering at all, he put his fingers on his cheeks and spoke in a high-pitched voice.
&n
bsp;His voice sounded extremely seductive, like the poisonous snake in the Garden of Eden.
"But professor, why don't you teach them in class?"
Gawain pretended to be curious and asked, his right hand quietly reaching towards his waist.
This is no ordinary tea party.
Absolutely not.
"You know, these contents are not suitable for everyone. Only brave people like you can try it. They, like me, are too mediocre and can only look up to the light of the strong.
If you look here, no one will know. "
Professor Quirrell lowered his head sadly and pushed the stack of parchment toward Gawain with both hands.
"Yes, how can ordinary people like them understand how much pressure you are under?"
"It's just a small price to pay. You already have too much on your shoulders. It's time to let others help."
"Just looking at it doesn't mean you will use it, does it?"
It was like someone was whispering in Gawain's mind.
But Gawain resisted with all his strength.
He does want power, he will practice and strive for it, but he will never do it in this way.
From the top piece of parchment alone, he saw a man with a miserable face lying on the black magic circle, and a wizard in robes used a short knife to carve out his heart.
——When a person dares to do evil to satisfy his base desires, he has lost his nature and is no longer himself.
But Gawain soon discovered that even his full resistance seemed to be of no avail.
The sounds were getting louder and louder, like a sledgehammer hitting directly on the heart. Even though he was trying his best to stay awake, only Gawain knew clearly that his left hand was trembling!
"There's something in the tea!"
Gawain suddenly thought of the extremely bitter tea.
There was definitely something wrong with Professor Quirrell.
Fortunately he thought of touching the wand before.
"Reparo!"
Gawain wriggled his lips with difficulty, shouted out a spell, and a fog-colored spiritual light was nailed to his leg.
The pain cleared his mind.
The jade stone on his chest and the wand also conveyed warmth in time, allowing Gawain to gradually fight against the weird feeling.
Taking this opportunity, Gawain leaned back violently and sat down on the ground with a "clang".
"Sorry to bother you, Professor. I suddenly remembered...my cat hasn't been fed yet, so I have to take my leave!"
Gawain held the wand tightly in his right hand and slowly backed away. Time had been accelerated to 1.3 times.
He didn't know how Quirrell would react if he was thwarted.
Are you angry?
Or will you stop him and finish what you just unfinished?
All he knew was that Quirrell's already pale face turned even paler, and he clutched the wand tightly in his right hand, the joints protruding.
Time passed little by little.
Quirrell suddenly closed his eyes.
When he opened it again, his whole body suddenly seemed to be deflated and collapsed.
"Of course, feel free, Mr. White. We were just having tea, weren't we? There's nothing worth telling anyone. I'm sure you're a smart boy and you'll understand that?"
Professor Quirrell waved his magic wand, and the old parchment on the table suddenly burned out of thin air, turning into a layer of black ash, which was then swept into the fireplace behind him.
His wand is very short, only about 8 or 9 inches.
Very tough.
"Goodbye, Professor."
Gawain backed up a little doubtfully, until he touched the door, then jumped out suddenly and disappeared from Quirrell's sight.
