The Mightiest Badger at Hogwarts

Chapter 207 The Dementor’s Bow

This scene shocked everyone. Everyone stared blankly at Hogwarts in the distance, and a feeling of uneasiness suddenly lingered in everyone's heart.

Slowly, Hogwarts Castle grew larger and larger, and the carriages slowly slowed down and finally formed a long queue in front of two extraordinary wrought iron gates.

There is a Dementor floating on each side of the gate. Whenever a carriage passes in front of them, they will fly over quickly, sniff around the carriage, and make bursts of "clucking" sounds from their mouths. He seemed to be checking the items in the carriage, looking very serious.

Link saw all this, but from his perspective, the dementors were not checking at all, but secretly absorbing the happiness of the students in the carriage.

Each of their carriages only takes a small sip. Although the amount is small, it cannot hold up many carriages!

Through the super-sensory spell, Link can clearly sense the joy and greed in their hearts. It seems that Link can even 'see' their mouths hidden by their hoods laughing silently.

This made Link very uncomfortable, and he used the power of the curse to form a protective shield to protect Emily and John without any hesitation.

Previous experiments have proven that although the power of the curse cannot cause much damage to Dementors, it can still stop one or two Dementors.

He couldn't control what happened to others, but he would never allow the dementors to suck any more happiness out of Emily and John.

But when the carriage they were riding in actually passed through the gate, something strange happened.

Instead of coming up to steal the happiness as before, the two Dementors stood there and bowed deeply to Link.

This made Link's brow twitch violently again. He lowered his head and saw that Emily and John were shrinking into a ball and dared not look directly outside, so he was relieved.

When the carriage arrived at its destination, everyone got out of the car and entered the auditorium to take their seats.

As in previous years, thousands of burning candles floated above the Great Hall at Hogwarts.

The firelight they radiate warms every student present.

It's a pity that the students below are not as excited and noisy as in previous years.

This is not surprising. First, the dementors forced the train to stop and search (loot) it, and then it was sucked by two dementors at the door. Not to mention that there are still a bunch of dementors floating around. Above the auditorium, through the magic ceiling, everyone can clearly see that they are greedily watching the students inside, as if they will rush down at any time to have a feast.

This made all the students look sad and uninterested at all.

Everyone spent the entire sorting ceremony without saying a word, without even a hint of applause. The depressing atmosphere at the scene made this year's freshmen dare not even speak out.

After the sorting was over, Dumbledore slowly walked onto the podium.

Looking at the gloomy students all over the world, Dumbledore frowned, and then raised his wand.

"Call God Guard!"

Bang!

A large wave of milky white light rippled in the auditorium with Dumbledore's wand as the center.

The dementors that were originally gathered in the sky above the auditorium were swayed by this light and were instantly driven back. The students bathing in it felt a warmth rising from their hearts, nourishing their blood. Heart.

"Welcome everyone back to Hogwarts!" Seeing that the students in the audience relaxed a lot, Dumbledore said, "I have a few very important things to inform you. The first is that our school is currently welcoming We have a few Dementors from Azkaban who were sent by the Ministry of Magic on official duties, as you all must know, because they searched the Hogwarts Express."

As soon as he said this, there was a commotion in the audience.

Many students cried in grievance, and some with some backgrounds in their families clamored to complain to the Ministry of Magic.

This is easy to understand.

Everyone was happily riding the train singing songs, but suddenly they were robbed by dementors halfway!

Is there any reason for this?

Is there still a king's law? !

Dumbledore didn't stop him when he saw this. After everyone calmed down, he said:

"They will be stationed at every entrance to the school. I must make it clear that no one is allowed to leave the school without permission when they are there. No tricks, tricks or disguises can fool the dementors! Even invisibility cloaks and certain Some magic potions that can make people invisible.”

Dumbledore stared in the direction of Link and Harry before continuing:

"It is not in the nature of Dementors to understand excuses and begging for mercy. Therefore, I remind everyone here not to give them a reason to harm you."

"Okay, let's change to a more pleasant topic." Dumbledore said, "I'm very happy that we have two new professors this year. The first is the Care of Magical Creatures class. Since Professor Kettleburn has retired, we Hagrid was chosen to take his place.”

After Dumbledore finished speaking, a burst of loud applause came from the direction of Gryffindor.

Hearing this, Hagrid stood up from the staff seat and waved to Harry and the others with cold eyes, very excited.

The other three major colleges remained silent.

Those raging "Book of Monsters" really make it hard to believe that Hagrid would be a good professor.

"Next up is Professor Lupin, who will fill the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor vacancy."

The applause was fainter this time.

Basically only some kind-hearted students and students who had seen Lu Ping's true abilities on the train were applauding in the entire auditorium.

Of course, Link is not included.

In fact, Link originally wanted to support Lu Ping, which was his duty as a friend.

It was a pity that Snape, who was sitting on the staff seat, was looking around the auditorium with a murderous look, as if he wanted to record the faces of every applauding student.

After meeting Snape's eyes, Link decisively lowered his raised hand.

He had a hunch that if he applauded, the consequences might be serious.

Under Snape's glare, the already sparse applause instantly became even more deserted.

Everyone is actually used to this. Snape has wanted to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor for more than a day or two. He basically has to do this every year when a new professor joins the job.

"Okay! Then let's have a banquet!"

Following Dumbledore's order, the gold plates and goblets in front of everyone were finally filled with food and drinks.

The appearance of food finally improved everyone's depressed mood, and everyone started to enjoy the meal.

After the dinner, Link did not run to Snape's office as in previous years. Instead, he returned to the dormitory and took out the parchment and quill.

What happened to him today was so weird that he felt the need to find someone to ask.

With this in mind, Link raised his quill and wrote:

'Mother, I have arrived at Hogwarts. Although there have been some hiccups on the way, everything is fine.

Also, do you know if there are some elders in our family who have unique tastes who have a soft spot for dementors and have had some exchanges with them that go beyond friendship...'
