Harry turned around and saw a scene that horrified him. A big dog with three heads, three pairs of vicious eyes, and three drooling mouths. The saliva was like sticky ropes, flowing from the yellowed dog teeth. The top hangs down.

Harry groped for the doorknob - between Filch and death, he would have chosen Filch, just as he was about to open the door.
