097 Christmas Vacation

On the first day of the Christmas holidays, Harry said goodbye to his two friends very sadly. He could not return to the Dursleys, which of course he was very grateful for.

Hermione and Ron promised to write to Harry, which made Harry feel less depressed.

"Are you going to study with Professor Rumple during the holidays?" Ron asked on the way to Hogsmeade.

"Well..." Hermione thought for a moment, "The teacher said he had something to do during the holidays, so he allowed me to go home for the holidays, but he gave me a lot of tasks."

"Yeah, yeah," Ron complained, "You've been planning your vacation these days, and we all know you're a busy man."

Hermione shrugged, indicating that she wasn't bored with this life, and moved on.

On the eighth floor of the castle, Edward was also saying goodbye to Dumbledore.

"Bye, Albus, I won't miss you," Edward said, holding a cup of steaming hot cocoa.

"Don't be so heartless, Edward." Dumbledore said with a smile, "Maybe I will go to Tulip Manor to find you. Nick's time is running out, and I don't want to miss this opportunity."

"You will never believe how much elixir a master alchemist can hide." Edward complained. Fortunately, he thought Nick and Perenal would die within a few months, but they were still alive and well. for two years.

After all, for their more than 600 years of life, one or two years is just a blink of an eye. If they left behind ten years' worth of elixir, Edward would not feel unusual at all.

"Say hello to me Nick, I can't leave the castle for the time being." Dumbledore said regretfully.

"I will convey it." Edward stood up and took out a black oil lamp from his pocket.

"Then, see you next year." Dumbledore waved with a smile.

Edward's figure disappeared from the room instantly. Dumbledore looked at the place where Edward disappeared for a while, until someone knocked on the door.

Professor McGonagall walked into the office holding a large pile of parchment, "Professor Dumbledore, about the students who are staying in school..."

The first time he arrived at Tulip Manor, an ugly-looking little guy appeared in front of Edward. Although it was wearing a gilded tea coaster to make it look less bad, there was still no denying that it was ugly. fact.

"Manglan, take me to find Nick." Edward said softly.

"Yes, distinguished Mr. Lumpo." Manglan is the house elf of Tulip Manor. In the past 600 years, her ancestors have been working here for generations. This is the greatest honor of their family.

I saw it stretched out a thin and slender finger and gently grabbed Edward's trousers.

Immediately, Edward disappeared. When the things in front of him became clear again, he had arrived at the foyer of the mansion.

"Prepare lunch for me as usual, Manlan." Edward said softly, gently pushing open the hall door.

"Hey, you're finally here." Nick stood up from the sofa shakily, and used the remote control to turn off the TV.

"When did you like watching Muggle TV programs?" Edward asked curiously after hugging Nick, "I don't know when you met Muggles."

"Don't underestimate me." Nick said with a smile, "It's my great-great-grandchildren. They were worried that we would be bored, so they asked the Ministry of Magic to install the TV for us."

"So the Ministry of Magic is quite useful?" Edward murmured thoughtfully.

"That's not the case," Nick said. "What better subordinates than the Ministry of Magic? Legal or illegal, they can help you do whatever you need."

Edward nodded heavily, as if he had made up his mind.

"Thank you, Nick."

"Well, don't say such strange things suddenly." Nick waved his hand, "You said in the letter that you need to conduct a magic research? About what, and also used the magic stone?"

"It's not some cutting-edge magic research." Edward helped Nick sit back on the sofa, "It's just...well...a human body refining ceremony."

"Oh, it's just the human body - made from the human body!!!" Nick's eyes widened, "This is a very evil research!"

"Can the Philosopher's Stone still be evil?" Edward asked.

Nick was stunned for a moment, then lowered his head indifferently, "I made a huge mistake back then."

"But the result is good, that's enough." Edward said quickly, "Why don't you let me see Perenal? I haven't seen her for a while."

"Well, she's sleeping. She's sleeping a lot now because she's starting to cut back on the elixir and it's making her body extra weak," Nick said.

"What happened? Not enough elixir?"

"No, she just wants to experience aging like a normal person," Nick said helplessly, "Of course, this is completely self-deception."

"It's undeniable." Edward nodded, and the two looked at each other and smiled.

In the next few days, Edward was not in a hurry to start the ritual of resurrecting Lily. He took Perenal to watch variety shows all day long and took Nick to the lake to fish.

This brought a rare burst of laughter to the dull Tulip Manor.

A little later, probably a few days before Christmas, the descendants of the Flamel family arrived at the manor. They wanted to spend this Christmas with Nick - this may very well be Nick's last Christmas. At least that's what they think.

"I told them to leave me alone, old man." Nick complained, "When they come, they always make a mess in the manor."

"Don't say that, they are your juniors after all." Edward comforted, "Look at me, I want to spend Christmas with my juniors but I can't find anyone."

"If you hadn't...well, it was all those many years ago, why would I mention it?" Nick looked at Edward and sighed heavily mid-sentence.

"Don't talk about the past." Edward said with a smile, seemingly unaffected.

"When are you going to start your experiment?" Nick asked softly.

Edward sat on the sofa with his arms crossed and said without looking back: "The Shawshank Redemption is so good to watch. It will definitely win many awards!"

"Edward, when will your experiment start?" Nick repeated helplessly.

Edward seemed to be immersed in the movie, and he and Perenal were fascinated by it.

"Huh? Test?" Edward said, "Let's wait until after Christmas. It won't take too long."

"But this is our first time to refine a human body. Is it really okay?" Nick said worriedly.

"It's okay. It doesn't matter if you fail."
