The Daily Life of a Hogwarts Warfare Professor

Chapter 5 Casual Conversation on the Farm

Victor's palms were a little sweaty ever since he saw Professor McGonagall squatting in front of his farm in the morning.

He had a premonition that the professor was coming to discuss the subject of war.

Although he had expressed his views many times in the past year through owl clock emails and even howling letters, Victor still seemed a little embarrassed when an interview came unexpectedly.

"Victor, you didn't show any special interest in power when you were at Hogwarts. It's only been four years. I want to know what made you fall into a kind of fanaticism for war?"

Professor McGonagall looked over with an expression of curiosity mixed with regret.

Victor knew that his failure to replace Trelawney as Professor of Divination had been a disappointment to Professor McGonagall. But he also has his own plans.

Hogwarts does not necessarily need an excellent diviner, but it does need a reasonable strategist.

"Professor, if someone wants to end a storm, all he has to do is learn the trajectory of the storm and how to make a boat, and then steer the ship when the waves come.

"I feel the same way about war."

"Do you regard Hogwarts as a base for training war experts?" Professor McGonagall put on a classic frowning serious expression.

"Mr. Eisner, I admit that if the future is really as you predicted, (in fact, everyone believes this prophecy by default, right, Flitwick has already started to review his dueling spells.)

"A group of wizards who are proficient in offensive magic will become the main combat force. But Hogwarts has never been a place to teach students dark magic."

"Even if the Dark Lord comes from this school, no professor wants to lead students into bad ways.

"Based on this, I think you lack the basic moral qualities of a professor."

Victor doesn't accept this criticism.

No one loves the little wizards at Hogwarts more than he does, especially the class that is about to enroll.

"I am by no means teaching dark magic. I can assure you and Mr. Dumbledore that the next generation of flowers at Hogwarts at eight or nine will never be destroyed in my hands.

"What I propose is just an education in how to master a duel."

Victor began to describe the blueprint of war science to Professor McGonagall opposite.

According to him, Hogwarts students must know what to do in a war, and they don't have to be the coldest dark wizards to survive.

With just a little training in tactics and game rules, a school student who only knows how to remove your weapons can also eat the king on the chessboard with the cooperation of knights and chariot legions. An old man like Filch can also defeat the fire dragon. A blitzkrieg on the back.

Maybe you can control an army of giant puppet fortresses in the war, who knows.

Victor thought silently in his heart.Or a team of Animagus spies led by kittens sounds good, giving a sense of déjà vu to Red Alert Yuri.

Then, Victor gave a speech alone.

The books on the semicircular bookshelf only require a snap of the fingers to smartly turn to the war cases that Victor wants to cite. Most of them are historical battles in the Muggle world, and some goblin wars in the magical world.

However, the latter was commented by Victor that "the goblin has its own set of logic and has no tactical significance."

Moreover, the magical era of individual heroism is over, and the future will be an era of total war with chaos, divided camps, and vast territories.

The ability of an individual soldier is not enough to determine the direction of a war.

The book was presented to Professor McGonagall page by page, as if to say, "See, these are all valuable experiences of previous Muggles, you stupid wizard."

Professor McGonagall tried to interrupt the young man in front of him several times, but Victor was too immersed in academic arguments and finally let her interrupt when the topic of Muggle "World War II" came up.

"Victor, there was once an outstanding or pretentious magician who predicted that Muggles would usher in another world war.

"After a while, this person seemed to be trapped in his own prophecy. He was such a fool and eventually started a war in the magical world."

"It's only been 40 years since the end of the war. I can tell you it's not as complicated as you think.

"In the end, it all boiled down to a confrontation between a few of the best wizards of the time."

She was talking about Grindelwald and Mr. Dumbledore.

Victor didn't know much about the stories other than the main story of Harry Potter, but he had heard about the greatness of these two people, as well as the bond between the two people... ahem, let's stop here.

"I think that kind of duel in the dark is not an example. Professor McGonagall, imagine that Grindelwald has a revolutionary army in Normandy?

"As soon as Grindelwald falls, receive the letter at the same time and raid the city and school in a blitz?"

Professor McGonagall was silent. She thought that even if the Revolutionary Army's ability was only one-tenth of Grindelwald's, as long as they were suppressed by numbers, the Ministry of Magic might not be able to deal with it.

She looked at Victor again, shook her head slightly and sighed.

"You were so certain that such a terrible war was going to break out, even though we haven't seen any signs of it until now."

Victor hesitated for a moment, then gently hooked his fingers on the Millennium Brick necklace.

He had no doubts about the prophecy of the Pharaoh card, but he could not guarantee whether his interpretation was completely correct until all the densely packed small-word annotations on the card were deciphered.

But no matter what the Pharaoh card said, Victor was also burdened with another definite prophecy, and that was his knowledge of the plot as a time traveler.

Even if the prophecy of the Pharaoh card is misinterpreted, and the extermination war is just a metaphor, the actual meaning of the card is that a species will become extinct from the earth due to the greenhouse effect in seven or eight years.

But there is also the battle between Voldemort and Hogwarts. This is bound to happen, the scale is a bit small, and a lot of people died.

I at least made the necessary preparations to deal with Voldemort's local war.Victor thought.

Just like the combat magic class given by the protagonist Harry in the Room of Requirement later.

Although that kind of training is no different from Boy Scout summer camp in Victor's eyes.

If he could, he hoped to change some of the characters' futures.

"I don't want to wait too late and see someone die in vain."

For some reason, Professor McGonagall felt that when Victor said these words, it was as if he was sure that someone at Hogwarts would die.

Did he see more sad things in the prophecies?

Seeing that the other party had no intention of elaborating, Professor McGonagall did not ask any further questions.

The two were silent for a few seconds before Professor McGonagall stood up and told Victor that it was time to go back.

Victor was a little surprised.

Isn’t this the end of the conversation?

Aren't you going to give me an interview? I was only halfway through my talk about modern human wars, and I immediately got to the exciting part of the European battlefield.

"Professor McGonagall, the result of our conversation today..."

"Result?" Professor McGonagall turned around, as if remembering this matter.

"Oh, you have been admitted by Dumbledore a long time ago. Visiting scholar and associate professor of war at Hogwarts. It is an honor to work with you, Mr. Victor 6?1 von 6?1 Eisner."

She glanced up at the owl clock mailbox on the wall.

"At five o'clock in the evening, the employment letter will be sent over. Remember that the new semester will start in one month. I think it will be enough for you to think about how to be a professor."

Victor graciously handed the robe and hat to Professor McGonagall as he left.

"I still don't understand. If Principal Dumbledore has hired me, isn't your visit today just for an interview? Why did the principal suddenly change his mind? I have sent hundreds of letters to Hogwarts without a response."

Professor McGonagall walked out of the cabin and said that this was just a visit out of curiosity and would not affect Victor's employment and admission results.

As she left, she thanked the Eisner family for their hospitality.Old Mr. Eisner on the side warmly asked her to come back next time.

"As for why Dumbledore suddenly made this decision."

Professor McGonagall gave Victor one last look.

"Just think that he likes the "History of the Peloponnesian War" you sent him."
