Chapter 8 Cleaning up the Goblins
"Quick cluck... cluck cluck... quack quack... quack quack..." The old hen and the big white goose in the yard kept crowing early in the morning, making Fred unable to sleep.
Fred looked out the window, his genius turning pale slightly.
Fred couldn't sleep anymore, so he picked up the History of Magic that he had placed on the bedside table before going to bed yesterday and started reading it again.
He learned from the book that in the Middle Ages, people without magic (generally called Muggles) were particularly afraid of magic, but lacked sufficient knowledge of magic.
Occasionally, they catch a real witch or wizard and burn the witch or wizard, but this is of no use at all. The wizard only needs to cast a most basic fire-condensing spell, pretend to scream in pain, and be beautiful at the same time. Enjoy the numbing sensation.
Among them was a weirdo named Wendelin who liked the feeling of being burned so much that she deliberately disguised herself in various disguises and had her caught 47 times.
Much later, after the International Statute of Secrecy was signed and came into effect in [-], the wizards completely went into hiding. They helped each other and formed their own communities.
There's Dingworth in Cornwall, Upper Flagley in Yorkshire, the village of Ottery St. Catchpole on England's south coast, and the most famous of them all is Godric's Hollow.
This is the birthplace of the great wizard Godric Gryffindor, and the place where the wizard goldsmith Bowman Wright created the first Golden Snitch. There are even many unknown legendary things that happened here.
Fred read "History of Magic" tirelessly, and the sky gradually became brighter. The dazzling sun illuminated the entire room. Molly's shouting came from downstairs on time, "Fred, George, Ron, Kim." Ni! Get up and eat!"
The difference from yesterday was that neither Fred nor George bothered to change clothes. They just wore pajamas and yawned and went downstairs. After all, they had to go out yesterday to get dressed. They would be at home all day today, so what clothes should they change.
After washing up, Fred sat at the dining table, picked up the hot black tea, and took a sip. The old hen and the big white goose outside the window were still squawking crazily, which was annoying.
Before Fred could speak, Molly brought the fried eggs to the table and said, "Fred, George, did you hear the noise in the yard? Those goblins are causing trouble again! After dinner, go clean it up. .”
"Yes, Mom." Fred and George replied weakly.
The family finished breakfast happily. Fred gave George a look, then ran upstairs, went straight to his room, and took the wand he just bought yesterday, "Come on, George, let's try to use the wand to clean up the goblins." !" In fact, Fred wanted to get familiar with the wand.
"What a great idea, Fred!" George became extremely excited instantly.
The two secretly ran downstairs with their wands, and ran out of the door at lightning speed without giving Molly a chance to take a closer look. Otherwise, their mother would definitely not let them use the new wands they just bought to clean up the goblins. .
Fred ran out of the door and almost kicked off the high-top leather boots beside the door.
The yard of the Burrow is actually quite large, with a half-person-high fence and many shrubs of various sizes growing in the corners.
There is also a large green pond on the left side of the yard, with several big white geese and frogs swimming in it.
The flowerbed on the right side of the yard is a bit messy, with weeds almost knee-high everywhere. A dirt road leads to the gate of the Burrow from the distance.
A few hens that were too fat to walk fast and had brown feathers were scratching the soil with their claws, constantly pecking at the bugs they picked out.
However, their eating was not going well. Fred only saw some little people about the size of a chicken's head climbing on the hen's neck. These little people pulled the hen's red comb and used small hands to The stick struck the hen on the head.
The fat hen cried out in pain, then spread its wings and flapped wildly, trying to shake off the little man on its head.
But those little people held on very tightly, and no matter how hard the hen struggled, they just couldn't get rid of them.
Fred and George quietly tiptoed, slowly trying to get the hen closer.
As he got closer, Fred could clearly see the gnome's appearance. It had a small body, its skin looked extremely rough, a bit like tree bark, and its head was bald, big and round, like a potato.
The hens were running around like this, but they couldn't catch the goblins. Fred covered one side of his mouth and said to George: "George, hold the hens, and I'll catch the goblins!"
George nodded knowingly, aimed at a hen, rushed up with a lunge, and then gave a big hug to the ground.
"Caught, caught, Fred, come on!" George spat out the chicken feathers in his mouth and shouted.
"Here it comes, here it comes!" Fred quickly ran over and grabbed the hen's neck with one hand to prevent it from moving. With his other hand, he quickly pinched the goblin's potato-like head.
"Ah!" Suddenly Fred felt a pain in his hand and let go of it.
The goblin fell to the ground and burst into laughter.
Fred was a little angry, stepped on the goblin, and then squatted down. This time Fred learned wisely and stopped scratching his head. He lifted one of the goblin's little feet and hung it upside down.
The goblin was hanging upside down, waving its little fists in the air, shouting, "Let me go! Let me go!"
"Hahaha!" This time it was Fred's turn to laugh, little boy, let's see what you can do!
Then Fred picked up the goblin's little foot, quickly spun it like a cowboy swinging a rope, and then threw it out with a "sudden ~" sound.
"Ah~" The goblin screamed from near to far, flying over the fence of the yard and falling outside the yard.
"Use the wand, use the wand, Fred!" George shouted impatiently.
Only then did Fred remember that he was here to try the wand, and once again he knocked down a hen and trampled a goblin under his feet.
Fred took out his wand, looked at George and asked, "Are you ready, George?"
George pursed his lips and said, "Ready!"
"Then I'm going to let go~1...2...3..." Fred raised his feet, and the goblin under his feet raised his two short legs and ran away. Unexpectedly, he was extremely fast!
"Don't run!" Fred waved his wand at the goblin, "Bang~"
A small pit exploded on the ground, but Fred's accuracy was a little off. This time it only caused the goblin to run away without affecting it at all.
"Bang~" George's attack also arrived, but it was just as missing.
"Don't run! Stay still! The Supreme Lord is as urgent as a law! For the sake of the tribe..." Fred has never learned spells at all. At least until now, he has not read "Standard Spells, Elementary", so he just Can yell.
George also learned quickly, "Death is like the wind, always with me!"
A crackling battle began in the yard, and Molly's face in the room became increasingly ugly~
