Hogwarts Mystery Sequence

Chapter 24 Lockhart

in the crowd.

Lockhart, who was enjoying the flash of the camera and the screams of the female fans, seemed to have seen something, and suddenly his eyes lit up.

He pushed aside the reporters and fans blocking his way and walked quickly in one direction.

Among the people he pushed away was a little witch with brown hair who looked like a squirrel, looking at him with aggrieved face.

But at this moment, Lockhart didn't notice his little fan at all, and instead let out an excited shout that was loud enough to cover the noise and screams at the scene:

"Isn't this Harry Potter!"

Lockhart grabbed Harry's shoulders as he was about to leave, and shouted in a coquettish voice:

"Holding a book signing for my first autobiography - "Magical Me" today is really a wise decision!"

"Because I actually discovered Harry Potter among my fans - the most famous person in the wizarding world after me!"

He showed a triumphant expression and took out a stack of books from somewhere. Regardless of Harry's pushing, he forcefully stuffed them into his arms.

"This is me, Gilderoy Lockhart, a recipient of the Order of Merlin, [-]rd degree, an honorary member of the Defense League against the Dark Arts, and a five-time winner of Wizarding Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award—but I don't talk about that. Come on, I don’t drive away all the female ghosts with my smile—the complete collection of autographs! It’s worth fifty gold galleons!”

Lockhart blinked at Harry, who was full of resistance, and said in a lower voice:

"Don't be embarrassed, because we will have many opportunities to communicate in the future. As a senior, I will teach you how to be a celebrity!"

Then he faced the crowd, waved one hand and declared loudly:

"I, Gilderoy Lockhart, a recipient of the Order of Merlin, Third Class, an honorary member of the Defense League against the Dark Arts, a five-time winner of the Wizarding Weekly's Most Charming Smile Award, have accepted the invitation from the Headmaster of Hogwarts School, Abe Dumbledore’s invitation to take up the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor this year!”

There were exclamations in the crowd. Lockhart nodded with satisfaction. His other hand held the struggling Harry in place like an iron clamp, and he said to himself:

"Come on, Harry! Let's take a picture!"

Lockhart forced the reluctant Harry to face the same direction as him, and reminded him in a low and self-righteous voice:

"Smile pretty, Harry, and we can both be on the first page!"

……

When Harry finally liberated himself from Lockhart and squeezed out of the crowd, he had a look of despair on his face.

But Amon, who was standing outside the crowd, smiled happily when he saw this scene. After laughing for a while, he raised his hand to adjust the monocle he wore on his right eye, and then turned his attention to Lockhart again. .

At this time, Lockhart was looking very proud, surrounded by a group of witches, wizards and reporters. He trumpeted that he was about to take up the post of professor at Hogwarts and teach the "savior" Harry Potter, and said that he was going to publish a new book to record it. His life on campus at Hogwarts.

Seeing this, Amon smiled inexplicably, then turned and walked towards Harry.

At this time, Harry and Hermione had already met, and Hermione was chattering excitedly, not knowing what she was talking about;

Harry stood next to her with a pile of books and an impatient look on his face, staring at the trash can on the roadside, as if he was ready to throw the books in his hand into it along with his dissatisfaction with Lockhart.

"Mr. 'Savior', if you don't want it, you can give it to me."

Suddenly a gentle and elegant voice came, making Harry tremble subconsciously and get goosebumps all over his body.

Hermione suddenly stared at Amon who seemed to appear out of nowhere, and couldn't help but retort:

"What did you say? That was given to Harry by Mr. Lockhart himself. How could he give it to you?! Such words are too rude!"

"But I think Mr. 'Savior' will be very happy, isn't he?" Amon replied unhurriedly.

Hermione's eyes widened, and she was about to continue to refute Amon, but she saw Harry handing the book to Amon before her, as if he was avoiding it.

Hermione's eyes suddenly widened, like bells, and she said to Harry in disbelief:

"Harry? How could you give someone else the book Mr. Lockhart gave you?!"

"Hermione! I guess not everyone likes Lockhart!"

Harry couldn't bear it any longer and spoke in a more serious tone.

The little witch was speechless now. She pursed her lips and turned her head to the side in a depressed manner.

Amon took the book and chuckled upon seeing it:

"As a thank you I thought I could help you out with a problem."

Harry didn't understand.

Amon motioned for him to look in one direction.

Hermione also happened to be looking in that direction, and saw two groups of people seemingly confronting each other on the street not far away. People on one side had conspicuous red hair.

"Ron?!" Harry and Hermione looked at each other and instantly put the unpleasantness behind them and ran towards there.

Amon first put the book into the pocket of his magic robe, and then leisurely walked behind the two of them. When he arrived, both parties seemed to be gearing up and ready to take action.

"Theodore!" Amon first called out Theodore who was standing in the Malfoy camp.

At this time, Lucius and Arthur were both in a dilemma.

Lucius had achieved his goal, and he didn't want to fight with the group of "red-haired baboons" on the opposite side.

Now that Amon was here again, Lucius didn't want to do anything unseemly that might damage the reputation of the Malfoy family;

And Arthur wanted Lucius to take action first, so that they would not be on the wrong side.

But now Lucius is standing still, which makes him feel in a dilemma and feels that it is not good to take action first.

As for not fighting - Arthur never thought about not fighting. They were outnumbered, so why not fight?

If he couldn't swallow his breath without beating him today, he wouldn't be Weasley!

He must put his size eight shoes on Malfoy's stinky face!

At this time, Theodore had silently stood behind Amon. When Amon saw Arthur's fist hardening, he smiled and said:

"Mr. Weasley, I'm sorry that my brother has caused you a lot of trouble."

"For this reason, I am willing to buy Miss Weasley a brand new set of school supplies."

"At the same time, this is also my first-term gift to Miss Weasley. The wonderful school life of the little wizard should not be disturbed by these trivial matters, right?"

Ginny, who was hiding behind Arthur, had her little eyes widened and looked up at Arthur expectantly.

Arthur hesitated.

Amon turned to Ron and said:

"Ron, I forgot to prepare a gift for you last Christmas. I want to give you a brand new wand to make up for it. Will you forgive me?"

Ron's heart was moved, but thinking that the other person was Nott, he turned his head pretending to be disdainful, but the uncontrollable look in his eyes still revealed his inner struggle.

Arthur hesitated even more, and his fists gradually relaxed.

Seeing this, Amon turned his attention to the two most excited people present and found that they were also looking at him expectantly.

Amon was about to speak, but was interrupted by Arthur's sigh.

"I think Ginny and Ron will both appreciate your generosity, Mr. Nott."

Arthur knew that Amon was trying to break up the fight, but he had to say that he was really moved by Amon's sincerity.

The Weasley twins looked at each other dejectedly and sighed at the same time.

"George (Fred), you are indeed an unloved child!"

The two "held each other's arms and cried".

Amon ignored the twins who were playing tricks and turned to look at Lucius on the other side who had regained his elegance and looked like a gentleman.

Lucius stared back and said calmly:

"The Knott family has an excellent heir."

Amon adjusted his monocle and said with a smile:

"You're not the first person to say something like that, Mr. Malfoy."

Lucius nodded, glanced at Arthur from the corner of his eye, then turned around and left with Draco without saying a word.

The departure of the contradictory party will naturally mark the end of this smokeless war.

Then Amon took Ron and his group to Ollivander's Wand Shop to choose a new wand for Ron;

By the time they came out, the crowd in front of Flourish and Blotts Bookstore had almost dispersed, but there were still some people who had not left, including Mrs. Weasley.

Amon kept the secrets for the Weasleys very enthusiastically and gained the friendship of the twins.

They secretly invited Amon to join their night team for adventures in Hogwarts after school started. Unfortunately, he was caught by the sharp-eared Mrs. Weasley and was taken aside to receive a slap in the face.

Finally, Amon exchanged the second-hand goods in Ginny's hands with brand-new school supplies, and said goodbye to Weasley and his friends.

Whether Mrs. Weasley would have any doubts about this was not something he wanted to resolve.

……

Amon pressed the second knuckle of his right index finger against the lower edge of his monocle, looked at the backs of Ginny and Ron, who kept showing off his new wand, and smiled silently.

Then he put down his hand and looked to the side. Theodore was standing there like a sculpture with his head bowed in thought.

"I think you have your own judgment about today's events, don't you, Theodore?"

Theodore nodded silently, then returned to his "telephone pole" appearance.

Amon straightened his crystal monocle and let out a silent "tsk".

"You should go back first. I have some things to deal with. You don't need to wait for me for dinner."

Hearing this, Theodore bent slightly towards Amon and left quickly.

Amon, who was standing there, saw this and whispered to himself thoughtfully:

"I'm that scary?"

But then this problem was forgotten by him. He took out a book signed by Lockhart from his pocket and raised the corners of his mouth with unknown meaning.

……

The Leaky Cauldron.

Go up a beautiful wooden staircase to the guest rooms upstairs. Each room has a brass number on the door for guests to identify.

Entering the room, the large bed that takes up the most space is the first thing that comes into view. It looks very comfortable. The several pieces of oak furniture next to it are also shiny. The overall clean and comfortable atmosphere is in sharp contrast to the dark and simple bar downstairs.

Because school will start soon, Lockhart is temporarily living here.

He took off his colorful cloak and hung it on the clothes rack at the door. He hummed an unknown tune softly and walked into the room with fast steps.

Suddenly, Lockhart's steps froze, his humming stopped abruptly, the smile on his face froze, and he froze in place.

In his dull sight, there was a figure sitting on the chair by the window in the room. He seemed to be a young wizard, wearing a classic black magic robe and a pointed soft hat of the same color. He was reading a book leisurely. .

When the figure saw Lockhart come in, he raised his head, looked into Lockhart's dull eyes, closed the book in his hand, and chuckled:

"Don't sign your real name randomly, you will be traced."

The cover of the book in his hand was printed with five large gilt characters: "Magic I", and the author's signature underneath was none other than Lockhart!
