Chapter 206 Prelude to Sirius’ Release from Prison
Time, 1: in the morning.
However, no one in the principal's office was sleepy at this time, nor would they be.
Neither McGonagall nor the others thought that Snape cared so much about Sirius' innocence and was so crazy.
"What about Peter Pettigrew! The bastard who killed Lily!"
"Don't tell me he's dead."
"If it's true - it's really ridiculous. A traitor's finger was treasured for this, and he was awarded the Order of Merlin, First Class?"
"You know what I live for! When Voldemort dies, I will be ready to rush to Azkaban and kill Sirius Black!"
"Now if Peter is the betrayer, who should I kill?" Snape said in a calm tone.
Professor McGonagall couldn't help but take a few steps back. Professor Flitwick wanted to comfort but was speechless. Professor Sprout wanted to get closer, but Snape nimbly dodged him.
"Severus, don't live out of hatred, think about Harry."
"Peter should be dead, so Sirius is lifeless and blames himself for killing Harry's parents."
"He kept repeating those words no matter who asked him," said Dumbledore.
"So, Peter Pettigrew is the secret keeper? That mad dog also played a role in it. He thought being in Azkaban would make him feel better!" Snape suddenly showed a scary smile.
He thought of a way to truly torture Sirius Black, something he knew very well.
"Atonement? Don't think about it. I want him to be rehabilitated and released from prison. He will be regarded as an unjust hero by others and be haunted by pain!" Snape said with a distorted face.
The other professors were silent, and Snape now made it impossible for them to get a word in.
In fact, they all wanted to ask how to deal with Sirius's case and how to reverse the case when he was unwilling to be released from prison.
But luckily, a certain principal in the frame spoke to me.
"Am I to understand," said Phineas Nigellus, opening his eyes, "that my great-great-grandson—the last of the Blacks—is innocent?"
"Yes, Phineas." Dumbledore nodded, "But now the question is, how to make him-"
"No need! Be it Veritaserum or Legilimency, be prepared!"
"Want to atone for your sins? Stop thinking about it!" Snape said calmly.
"Well, he is worthy of being born in Slytherin!" Phineas Nigellus smiled and nodded.
Snape also smiled and nodded, but the calmer his expression was now, the more panicked others felt, and they even began to doubt whether letting Sirius out of prison was a good decision.
Maybe it would be better to leave him alone in Azkaban? Except for Dumbledore, all the other professors thought the same way.
"By the way, we can say that we have found traces of Peter Pettigrew!"
"Sirius's case was handled by Old Crouch. Wasn't he arrested before school started, but Fudge didn't get much benefit from this matter. Old Crouch's subordinates were not implicated because of him. Fudge would be very happy to have the mad dog case reopened."
"This is a knife that he can use to cut flesh from the Department of Magical Law Enforcement... We just need to push one..." Snape suddenly became excited.
Phineas Nigellus in the frame on the wall had the same excited expression as Snape.
He had long despaired of the Black family's inheritance. His only great-great-grandson was in Azkaban, which was no different from having an extinct heir, but now there was hope!
"Okay, Severus."
"It's a good plan. How about we continue to look at the image in the stone, and the rest -" Dumbledore suggested, but before he could finish speaking, Snape left resolutely.
Before leaving, he said, "I understand, I will control everything!"
"I'm writing, and I'm writing now!"
"I'll show it to you before I send it out..." By the time Snape finished his last words, he had already disappeared from the room.
"As expected of Sly——"
"Shut up Phineas!" Dumbledore couldn't help but rub his eyes.
"Just be jealous. The excellence of our college is beyond your reach." Phineas Nigellus quickly disappeared into the frame, and the frame became blank.
"Who is he?" Professor Flitwick couldn't help but ask.
"He also has another portrait, just like Doris has a portrait in St. Mungo's and can visit her," Dumbledore said.
"I'm not—" Flitwick retorted eagerly, but was stopped by Dumbledore.
"He probably wants to find some people he can talk to about Sirius' release from prison." Dumbledore finally explained.
Professor Flitwick nodded, indicating that this was the question he wanted to ask, and breathed a sigh of relief.
"Then are we the same as Professor Snape, or are we?" Professor McGonagall began to ask the important point.
"Let's continue watching." Dumbledore nodded helplessly.
What follows is a private conversation between him and Harry, and there is even his "confession" to Harry.
Although he didn't say it directly, these old guys could definitely see something on his face.
To be honest, he didn't want to continue.
But McGonagall was keenly aware of Dumbledore's reluctance.
Sometimes, the more you seem to care about your secret, the more others want to see it.
The mid-air scene continued to play, and soon came the scene where Dumbledore appeared, Quirrell was self-destructed, and Voldemort turned into black smoke and escaped.
Even though they all knew that Quirrell was dead, they still couldn't help but blush.
"He was still begging his master in the end!" Professor Flitwick sadly fell off his chair and said with hatred.
"This kid Quirrell is obviously with the mysterious man! Why did the mysterious man-" Professor Sprout, the gentlest of all professors, said half doubtfully and half painfully.
"Voldemort could have escaped without sacrificing Quirrell!" Professor McGonagall's feelings for Quirrell were the shallowest among the three, which made her discover the details.
Dumbledore on the side nodded in approval.
He didn't realize this at the time, but when he reviewed it later, he found that Tom may have more Horcruxes than he imagined, and his magic was not enough to control Tom.
Harry's magic in Quirrell's body is nothing but a rootless source, unless Harry holds Quirrell all the time, and Lily's blood relatives Dudley and Petunia are present to restrain him.
"That's disgusting!" Professor McGonagall finally yelled, not knowing whether she was talking about Voldemort or Quirrell.
McGonagall gradually calmed down, and she even felt a little guilty. Could it be that Dumbledore didn't want them to watch anymore because of this scene.
Dumbledore didn't have any dark secrets, she was just overly concerned.
Nothing about the next scene surprised McGonagall and others, they all knew what Harry and Dumbledore had discussed.
McGonagall quickly became calm, as did Professor Sprout. Only Flitwick was still immersed in the emotion of the death of a child in his own academy.
Soon, however, there was a long period of calm between Harry and Dumbledore.
"I'm not mistaken, Albus, you are blushing!" McGonagall said with an incredulous tone.
"Are you going to confess your love?" This was Professor Sprout. She had also been in love, and she saw this expression.
