Chapter 26 Night Talk in the Ministry of Magic

Roman felt like a bucket of cold water was poured from his head to his feet.

"Come on, I'll take you out."

Uncle Pali Hoxha, who had just reported his home, had already begun to look for the marks left with the hunting knife when he arrived.

"I don't understand why you got lost here?"

"You guys?" Roman followed him carrying the box and holding the wand tightly in his other hand.

"Yes, I met a boy this morning, probably only a few years older than you; but unfortunately, we could barely communicate."

Pally looked back at Roman's robe and suitcase, "I sent him to town first."

"In town?" Roman was stunned.

Based on what he saw just now, he might not be able to see the end of this jungle even if he walked for three days.

"I can't take him into the forest." Pali Hoxha seemed to be amused. "One more thing, did you hear the explosion just now?"

"No." Roman shook his head and hid the wand inside.

Pally looked doubtfully towards the direction of the explosion, but finally decided to go back to the town first.

Following the marks, it took them more than two hours to reach a forest path trodden by humans.

But not long after walking along the path, a mini town appeared in front of them against the setting sun.

Xanadu.

Roman could only say these four words, but he also wondered why he could not get a full view of this place from above.

But Pali Hoxha didn't know Roman's doubts. He just introduced his paradise with a little pride.

In late 1989, an uneasy turmoil was brewing in Albania, which had broken away from most of the world.

As a young boy, Pali Hoxha was keenly aware that this would be a volcanic eruption. Already exhausted physically and mentally, he abandoned the bunkers all over the country and chose to live in this semi-secluded town.

"If the child hasn't been able to contact his family yet, I think you can help as a translator."

He said this to Roman on the way home.

"If he hasn't found the right path yet, I guess you can give him some 'trouble' along the way."

This is what Lucius Malfoy said to Fudge after get off work at the Ministry of Magic.

Fudge wiped the sweat from his forehead and tightened the collar of his pinstriped suit.

He felt that it was extremely hot in his office, and he might have to move to the minister's office in advance to feel better.

"We don't know where he went."

"Minister, the door key is recorded. He is in Greece." Umbridge's voice sounded from one side. She held the book and spoke in a sweet tone.

"I don't understand, who means this? Lucius, you know we just..."

"There are many people, but they can't be there." Lucius rubbed the handle of his cane.

"I have to remind you that your current status is very embarrassing, and the ministry still needs to keep reviewing you." Fudge's face was sweating more and more, and Umbridge handed over a pink handkerchief with perfume on it. He choked and burst into tears.

"I know the worries in your heart." Lucius Malfoy said in a low voice.

"But, you know...Dumbledore..." Fudge stammered. He was indeed greedy for wealth and power, but he also lacked the courage to bear the corresponding consequences.

"Dumbledore, he is just a has-been old man." Lucius's whisper rang in Fudge's ears like a devil.

"He was trapped by that school, by that group of students."

"Do you want to consult Dumbledore from time to time after becoming a minister?"

This sentence made Fudge's expression change again and again.

In the drawer on his right hand was a reply letter from Dumbledore.

The minister had already begun to delegate power to him, but Fudge did so cautiously, and from time to time he wanted to write to Dumbledore to ask.

In fact, he does not lack talents. Coming from a wizarding family, he always leaves people with the impression of generosity; but behind all this is his weakness and uncertainty.

Crouch and Dumbledore, the two originally hotly debated candidates, were eliminated one after another; the minister's throne seemed to suddenly fall from the sky and then be thrown to him by Dumbledore.

If he didn't go to Dumbledore, he wouldn't even know if his order was correct; but this also meant that the vast amount of work in the Ministry was no secret to Dumbledore.

Lucius did not continue to press him, but looked at Umbridge.

The woman understood and handed Fudge a cup of warm tea.

"Minister, you can't always live in Dumbledore's shadow."

"No, I'm not the minister yet." Fudge took the tea cup vaguely, "Dumbledore is very trustworthy."

"Maybe, it's just like this now." Lucius said in a flat voice, as if he was talking about what time dinner should start.

"Now, you all get out." Fudge felt like he was out of breath. "Get out, it's time to get off work."

"Okay, Mr. Minister." Lucius emphasized the word "minister" and then withdrew with Umbridge.

Instead of going their separate ways, they entered Umbridge's office.

For Umbridge, promotion was a given, and from then on, her aesthetic began to become more and more girlish: the office was full of gorgeous lace, and she liked anything decorated with cats. s things.

"I hate real cats, they're so hard to take care of."

Umbridge brought over two glasses of sherry and drank most of it herself.

Lucius looked at the cup with disgust, but reached out and took it anyway.

"My father was a prominent figure in the Wizengamot. He and I both agreed on one thing, that Muggles should be kept in cages." Umbridge laughed shrilly, causing Lucius frowned again.

He knew, of course, that Umbridge's father was the janitor who used to clean at the Ministry; but he also knew that something bad had happened to anyone who tried to point that fact out.

"That little bastard, I always thought he was pro-Muggle..."

Umbridge wanted to say something more, but Lucius interrupted her:

"So I think you should do something."

"Me?" Umbridge breathed out alcohol.

"Yes, there are many things." Lucius hinted, "Although the name is enough, there is still a lot of room for maneuver in terms of power."

"Let me think about it." Umbridge was a little excited. Her pathological pursuit of power was far better than Fudge. "I will convince the minister..."

"Tomorrow morning's Daily Prophet should have time to add an article at the end, and it's time for a new edition of "The Rise and Fall of Black Magic" to be released. And..."

Umbridge's eyes widened. She seemed to have thought of something, but she didn't dare to think about it carefully.

Roman, who was in the jungle, didn't know anything about it.

He followed Uncle Pali Hoxha home, just to get a map early, confirm the location, and then leave this dangerous jungle.

But Roman's plan was disrupted because the boy rescued that morning was still at Uncle Pali Hoxha's house.

He dressed like a normal boy on vacation, but when he opened his mouth he was bombshell.

"We're in big trouble."

He said looking at Roman who was wearing a wizard robe.
