Hogwarts: The Book of Laws.
Chapter 14: News and Conversation
early morning.
In the Hufflepuff dormitory, Arthur slowly opened his eyes, feeling three faint blue lines in his mind, and released his meditative state.
Others in the dormitory are still sleeping.
They played too late last night, and Foer and Ramiro took turns fighting Negan.
Until late at night, Negan was finally defeated, but Arthur thought it was Negan who let it slip, otherwise he might not be able to sleep all night.
Arthur set the alarm clock and placed it next to Foer's bed. In 20 minutes, the alarm clock would sound to prevent them from oversleeping.
Then, he picked up the textbook and a letter he was going to use today, and quietly walked out of the dormitory.
As he passed the common room, Arthur subconsciously looked at the portrait above the fireplace.
Everything was fine, there was no ring on Hufflepuff's hand, and she was still smiling kindly.
But Arthur could never forget what happened last night. He really saw a ring on Helga Hufflepuff's finger!
But in a blink of an eye, he disappeared.
This made Arthur feel a chill on his back. He lay in bed and thought for a long time last night. Maybe this was an omen?
Ever since he knew the purpose of the ring, he had always subconsciously regarded it as a golden finger and an adventure, but he had never thought about the things behind the ring.
Is the Holy Knights Association really just for members to study the laws, as Toad said?
How many members are there in the Holy Knights?
How many owners has the ring had?
How on earth did they lose the ring?
These questions repeatedly appeared in Arthur's mind. He felt that this iceberg hidden under the water might be bigger than he imagined!
However, he had a vague guess, that is, Hufflepuff was also the owner of the ring!
Even the four founders of Hogwarts once owned rings!
If this is the case, then what this ring represents is likely to be a world hidden deep underground, like a towering tree with intricate roots!
Arthur walked out of the common room and looked back at the slowly closing passage. He did not dare to underestimate Hufflepuff this time.
What he can do now is to speed up the pace, master the spiritual laws as soon as possible, and... try to keep a low profile.I don't know why, but there was such a vigilance in his mind.
"call--"
Arthur climbed the stairs to the castle tower, opened the door, and came to the owl room.
He handed the letter he wrote last night to a brown gray owl. It pecked Arthur affectionately and flew into the sky.
It will fly to distant Bristol and bring Arthur's greetings to Brooke.
Watching it fly farther and farther until it turned into a small black dot, Arthur went downstairs to the restaurant to prepare for dinner.
I met Cedric in the restaurant and Nesta who had just walked in.
"Arthur, is your first period of Transfiguration class?" Nesta asked.
Arthur looked at the class schedule and said, "Yes, with Ravenclaw."
"Then we'll see you later."
Nesta said hello and sat down at the Ravenclaw table with her roommates.
"How did you sleep last night?" Cedric asked after Arthur sat down.
"Not bad." Arthur said, "By the way, Cedric, let me ask you something."
"what's up?"
"Have you ever noticed...Hufflepuff's portrait?" Arthur asked thoughtfully.
"Huh?" Cedric took a bite of the pumpkin pie and asked curiously, "Of course I noticed it, what's wrong?"
"It's nothing, it's just the first time I've seen it and I'm curious." Arthur forked an omelette and put it on the plate, pretending to be casual.
Cedric was about to say something when a "goo-goo-" sound came from above the restaurant.
With the sound of flapping wings, countless owls flew in, dropping large packages and the latest Daily Prophet.
Cedric also got a copy. He quickly caught it and said, "My dad forwarded this to me. Something new must have happened, otherwise he wouldn't have bothered to ask Harvey to come over and deliver the Daily Prophet."
Harvey is a snowy owl raised by Diggory's family. After delivering the food, he stood on the dining table and pecked at the crumbs.
Arthur poked his head curiously and saw the eye-catching headline on the newspaper at a glance - shocked! There was a massive riot at the Beauxbatons opening party last night!
When Cedric saw the explosive headline, he quickly laid the newspaper on the table and started reading it with Arthur.
"It is reported that Beauxbatons, one of the three most famous magic schools in Europe, had a large-scale riot last night. There were a lot of traces of spellcasting on the scene! It was suspected of being attacked! Principal Olim Maxim said it was just a one-time attack The accident did not cause any damage!”
Arthur and Cedric looked at each other.
"What's going on? Are there still people so bold? Dare to attack Beauxbatons?"
Cedric shouted in surprise.
Arthur stared intently at the photos in the newspaper - a restaurant that was comparable to the Great Hall of Hogwarts was in a mess, with countless freshmen screaming and running around!
"This looks really...not good!"

Office of the Headmaster of Hogwarts.
Dumbledore was adding sugar to a cup of coffee. After adding almost half a jar of granulated sugar, he finally stopped.
"Albus, I just can't understand why you love sweets so much!"
On the table, an old voice came from the smooth mirror.
Dumbledore smiled and said: "Sweet things are good for thinking. I like to have a little when troublesome things happen. Do you want it, Nico?"
"I'll forget it, my current body doesn't allow it." The old man in the mirror said tactfully, "What do you think? What happened in Beauxbatons last night?"
"Obviously, some people are eager to take action." Dumbledore replied, stirring the coffee.
The old man in the mirror seemed to be thinking. For a moment, he asked: "How are you doing there? Is the owner of the ring in Hogwarts?"
"I can't give you an answer now," said Dumbledore. "As of now, no one has any signs of it."
"Okay then. You have to be careful, they will definitely go to your place." The old man in the mirror reminded.
Dumbledore picked up the cup and took a sip, and said strangely: "Actually, I don't understand why you are so sure that the owner of the ring is a new student in the magic school? Is it just because of... the owl?"
"It's also because he doesn't understand ancient magic texts, Albus." The old man in the mirror smiled, "No one who was present or not present at the time would ignore this detail!"
"Okay." Dumbledore said expressionlessly.
"Although it's not 100% certain, they will not let go of any possibility. I guess their next step will be the Ministry of Magic to store registration files for Animagus transformations."
"So, wizards whose Animagus form is owls will suffer?" Dumbledore shrugged.
"That's right, Albus." The old man in the mirror said helplessly, "Maybe it also includes the people who train and sell owls!"
The two were silent for a while, and Dumbledore picked up a piece of cake and tasted it in small bites. After a long time, he seemed to be distressed and said: "I remember you hinted at him in a subtle way the first time."
"But obviously, he didn't understand what I meant," said the old man in the mirror. "Maybe he really thought I had some evil intentions and wanted to scare him."
"Then did he contact you? You almost revealed your identity, and you were warned by others. He didn't write to you or anything?" Dumbledore asked.
"No. Not everyone is as confident as you and dares to directly challenge the unknown." The old man in the mirror smiled, "That's why I decided that he might really be a child. He hasn't realized that he is in the 'other world' yet." There was a riot."
Dumbledore sighed softly and asked, "What happened to the people who invaded Beauxbatons last night? What did they find?"
"They found all the information about the new students, but they couldn't take it away. Olim has already solved it. But after all, they are just small players, and the person who instigated them has not yet taken action."
"Okay, Nico. You must pay attention in the near future. Those people will be extremely crazy in order to 'sublimate'."
"Haha, don't worry! When I was playing hide-and-seek in the black forest of Albania, their ancestors were still eating grass!" the old man in the mirror laughed.
"I will investigate as soon as possible here, but the action will not be too big. I don't want to disturb my students."
"I understand, Albus, feel free to contact me. I won't interrupt your breakfast. Goodbye."
As the words fell, the mirror became dim and the old man inside left.
Dumbledore added two more pieces of sugar to the cup, picked up the spoon and continued to stir.
The thumb of his right hand gently rubbed his index finger, as if there once was a ring in that place, or...a ring!
