Hogwarts: The Book of Laws.
Chapter 64: 3 Brothers and the God of Death
At eight o'clock in the evening, Hogwarts was quiet.
After what happened in the Black Forest last night, Professor McGonagall announced an early curfew.
So after dinner, the students all returned to the common room honestly.
Arthur was lying on the hospital bed in the school hospital, reading a storybook under the moonlight outside the window.
After Cedric left this afternoon, the Weasley brothers and Professor Sprout came to visit him respectively.
He also brought him a lot of things to relieve his boredom, including this "The Tales of Beedle the Poet".
This book is truly famous!
In the wizarding world, it is a bedtime reading for countless little wizards, and it contains fables with a fairy tale color.
But Arthur knew that there was a huge secret hidden in this so-called fairy tale book!
Deathly Hallows!
He gently turned the page to the chapter on three brothers.
Once upon a time there were three brothers traveling along a lonely winding road.
At dawn, they reached a river in time.
It was a river so deep and fast that it was impossible to wade or swim across it.
However, this obviously cannot trouble the three magic brothers!
With just a wave of their wands, they built a bridge across the river.
However, when they were halfway there, a hooded man appeared and blocked their way.
This man is the God of Death!
Death spoke to them, angry that he had been fooled by the three new victims, for travelers usually drowned in this river.
But Death was cunning, and he pretended to praise the three brothers for their magic, and for cleverly avoiding him, each of them would win a prize.
The eldest of the three brothers, a warlike man, demands a wand more powerful than any in existence: a wand that always helps its owner win duels, a wand that a wizard who has conquered death deserves. Magic wand! (The God of Death must want to shoot him to death at this time~)
So Death cut off a branch from an elder tree on the river bank, made it into a wand, and handed it to the boss.
The second of three brothers, an arrogant man.He wanted to embarrass the God of Death even more, so he asked for the power to summon others back from the God of Death.
So the God of Death picked up a stone from the river bank and gave it to Lao Er, telling him that this stone had the power to resurrect the dead.
Death asked the youngest what he wanted.
The third child was the humblest and smartest. He did not intend to trust the God of Death, so he asked the God of Death to give him something that would enable him to go to places beyond the jurisdiction of the God of Death.
Death reluctantly gave him his invisibility cloak.
Death then stopped interfering, allowing the three brothers to continue talking about their adventures and Death's gifts.
Later, the three brothers separated for their own purposes.
After traveling for more than a week, the eldest brother arrived in a remote village in search of a wizard with whom he had a quarrel. (You are so small-minded!)
Naturally, with the Elder Wand as a weapon, there is no way he would lose any subsequent duel! His enemy fell to the ground without any surprise!
The eldest brother continued on and arrived at an inn, where he loudly showed off the powerful wand he had received from Death and how it made him invincible.
However, that night, when the eldest brother lay down, another wizard sneaked into his room quietly, soaked his bed with wine, and the thief stole the wand. (How stupid!)
To be on the safe side, he slit his eldest brother's throat.
So Death got the big brother's life.
Meanwhile, the second brother returned to his own home where he lived alone.
There he took out the stone from which the dead were summoned, and turned it three times in his hand.
To his surprise and joy, the girl he once wanted to marry but unfortunately died immediately appeared in front of him!
Yet she was sad and cold, and separated herself from him with a veil. (I seriously suspect that she is the agent of the God of Death~)
Even though she is back in the world, she doesn't really belong there, she suffers there.
In the end, the second brother went crazy in endless despair, and committed suicide in order to truly integrate into her world. (The advent of what love is...)
So the god of death got the second brother's life again.
However, the God of Death has been looking for him for many years, but he still can't find his third brother.
It wasn't until he was too old that he took off his invisibility cloak and left the clothes to his son.
He greeted Death like an old friend, and happily followed Death, and they both passed away in the same way.
...
Arthur roughly finished reading the story while complaining.
If you look at it from the perspective of fairy tales and fables, then the meaning it wants to express is easy to understand.
The invincible elder wand symbolizes the belligerence and arrogance of the boss who wantonly shows off his force.
The resurrection stone that brings the dead back to life symbolizes Lao Er's paranoia in trying to fight against death and violate the laws of nature.
The cloak, which is merely invisible, symbolizes Lao San's humility and his ability to make choices.
In the end, the eldest and second child died unexpectedly, while the third child got a good death.
That's the ostensible moral of this adaptation of the legend.
But Arthur knew this was more than just a legend!
The three brothers in the story once really existed!
That is, the three brothers of the Peverell family!
They are also the real makers of the Deathly Hallows!
The eldest Antiochus made the Elder Wand!
Cadmus, the second oldest, made the Resurrection Stone!
The third child, Ignotus, made the invisibility cloak!
Although these three brothers have been dead for many years, their sacred artifacts have been passed down.
The Elder Wand was once taken away by Grindelwald for study and is currently in the hands of Dumbledore.
The Resurrection Stone was set into a ring in the Gaunt family, and was later taken away by Voldemort as a Horcrux to hold his own soul.
The Invisibility Cloak has been stored in the Potter family. After James Potter's death, it was kept by Dumbledore and will be returned to Harry when he enters school next year.
Thinking of this, Arthur frowned slightly, and the mental spell in his mind flashed slightly.
If before, he thought that the Deathly Hallows were just more powerful items with magical power.
So now, he had to think deeply about whether the Deathly Hallows was related to the Law.
Otherwise, how could ordinary magic items attract people like Grindelwald, Dumbledore and Voldemort?
In this way, the three Peverell brothers may also control the law!
Then there is another way to interpret this story!
People who pursue the law basically do it to gain greater power and desire for eternal life!
This just corresponds to the boss and the second child!
And the third child's invisibility cloak...
Arthur thought of what Barebone said, the dark jungle!
The invisibility cloak can help Laosan better hide himself from hunters!
Arthur gently rubbed the cover of the book. If this is the case, then this book may not be as simple as it seems.
And the author of this book, the poet Beedle, may not just be a writer of fairy tales!
Now it seems more like he is borrowing this book to imply something.
Three Brothers...
Deathly Hallows...
Arthur's eyes suddenly condensed!
Since the three brothers and the Deathly Hallows appearing in this story are real, what about the God of Death? !
Could Death... also be real? !
