[HP Fred] I was the school belle at Hogwarts

Chapter 62: Suspension of a century-old game

Let's go back in time to a month ago.

Located in the small town of Whitby, North Yorkshire, on the east coast of England, this is a quiet small seaside city and the source of the River Esk.

The locals all know that there is a crazy one-eyed cripple in the town. He has no wife and children and lives alone in a dilapidated wooden house on the cliff. He fishes during the day to make a living and sleeps with the sea breeze and waves at night.

That man was Alastor Moody, the retired legendary Auror. Today he received a special visitor - Albus Dumbledore.

The two chatted in the simple wooden house for two hours. The old man, wearing a robe embroidered with many stars and moon patterns, finally disappeared with satisfaction.

But Moody was so excited that he could no longer hold the flagon. After more than ten years, he was really bored. Moody muttered, "Come on, little Barty, I can't wait!"

On September 9st, the Hogwarts Express finally sailed to Hogwarts again, and the new school year finally started.

The opening dinner is a fixed ceremony every year. The auditorium is still as magnificent as it used to be, decorated for the opening celebration. The golden plates and goblets are in the light of hundreds of candles floating in the air. It was shiny, and the four long, large tables were filled with students chatting and waiting for the freshmen to be sorted.

Although Sigrid had already gone through the sorting ceremony once and watched it twice, she still enjoyed watching a group of little wizards who were either excited or confused about the future nervously waiting to be sorted.

There are actually more students enrolled in Hogwarts this year than in previous years. It is obvious that the proportion of pure-blood wizards is getting smaller and smaller, while there are more Muggle wizards and half-blood wizards. However, it is estimated that no one in other schools except Slytherin cares about this at all.

"Sigrid, Flint has stepped down, and now no one can tell you what to do." Susie Nelson was sharing first-hand gossip with Sigrid.

Sigrid glanced at Flint, who was no longer respected in the front row after losing the aura of prefect, and felt a sense of joy in her heart. She really overestimated Marcus Flint. She thought she would never have to see that stupid guy again, but she didn't expect that he actually repeated the grade because of his poor grades...

"The new prefect appointed by the dean is Volint Lestrange, who is in the sixth grade. I heard that he is an admirer of yours. Last year, Flint was kicked out by Lestrange when he spoke ill of you in the fifth grade. Get out!" Susie's eyes signaled her to look forward.

Sigrid looked in the direction she said. Volint Lestrange, who was wearing the prefect badge, was looking over here. Sigrid curled her lips and raised the glass of water in front of her. Sora made a toast.

Seeing Volint Lestrange's blushing face, holding up the wine glass and responding with flattery, Sigrid withdrew her gaze and continued to focus on the sorting ceremony on the stage. But she was thinking that she would be very comfortable in Slytherin this year, and at least Volint Lestrange would be happy to lend her the prefects' bathroom. She had long wanted to try the luxurious private bathroom.

First-year students were assigned to their desks one after another. After all the little wizards were sorted, Slytherin received a total of 28 new students, which was nearly a quarter lower than the other three houses.

After the sorting, Principal Dumbledore announced two things, each causing a sensation.

The first is that this year's Quidditch match has been cancelled. This has no impact on Sigrid, but I don't think Fred will be happy about it. Even though Slytherin and Gryffindor were separated by a long house table, she could seem to hear the Weasley brothers' protests.

But the second thing soon attracted everyone's attention. This year, their school will serve as the host, jointly with Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, to host the "Triwizard Tournament" that is held every five years.

All the little wizards immediately forgot about the Quidditch game, and her boyfriend Fred directly and loudly questioned Principal Dumbledore, "Are you kidding me?"

Sigrid, who was sitting in the audience, just wanted to cover her face. All the students in the audience laughed, "I'm not kidding, Mr. Weasley!" Principal Dumbledore also laughed and talked to the students in the audience. Continuing to explain, the Triwizard Tournament began about seven hundred years ago, with each school selecting a contestant to participate. The competition was only suspended a century ago when too many people died.

After explaining the history of the "Triwizard Tournament" to the students, Principal Dumbledore continued, "The other two schools will arrive at our school in October, and the selection competition for the three contestants will be held on Halloween. The winner of the competition will Get 1000 gold galleons." As soon as he said this, the little wizard who was timid due to the high mortality rate was eager to try again.

Principal Dumbledore made a gesture to silence everyone. "While I know you all want to bring a trophy to Hogwarts, the Ministry of Magic and the Headmasters of our three schools have agreed that only those over 17 years old can participate in the competition."

The bonus alone is worth 1000 gold galleons, which is a lot of money for a student. But unfortunately, the mandatory requirement that only those over 17 years old can participate limits the scope of participation to seventh graders and some sixth graders. Sighs came and went for a while.

Sigrid didn't feel much. She cherished her life very much and would not participate in any activities that might be dangerous. However, she knew that the Weasley brothers must be very dissatisfied. She could already hear their protests from a distance.

The last person to be announced was their Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher this year. The belated old man sat in the professor's seat under everyone's attention. He was the famous legendary Auror Alastor Moody.

"Didn't you say he was crazy?"

"You actually asked him to teach us Defense Against the Dark Arts?"

"Half of the prisoners in Azkaban were sent there by him..."

The young wizards from other colleges around were whispering to each other, and Slytherin among them seemed even quieter. Many Slytherin family members sitting below may have dealt with this Professor Moody. Of course, it was not pleasant. meet.

"Do you think he will be prejudiced against the students of our college?" Susie had no good impression of this ferocious-looking old man who looked like a crazy drunkard.

"It's very possible!" Sigrid could see that the old man didn't seem to have a good temper.

This is also true, Draco Malfoy became the first Slytherin to be targeted.

The new semester officially started on September 9nd.

Sigrid and Susie, who were having dinner in the cafeteria in the evening, were once again glad that they had made a wise decision to abandon the Care of Magical Creatures class last year and switch to arithmetic and divination.

In the cafeteria, Draco Malfoy was describing to them with a disgusted face what he thought was the ugliest thing ever, the new species bred by Hagrid - the Blast-Ended Skrewt.

"They are like big lobsters with their shells removed. They look slimy and have no heads. They only have a lot of legs sticking out in a mess. They look very disgusting."

"Draco, can you skip this part? Do we still want to have a good meal?" Daphne frowned to stop him from describing any more.

"That stupid guy actually asked us to raise it in future classes. Its tail can also spit fire. Poor Dean Thomas unfortunately got his hands burned." Draco shook his head and sighed.

Many witches around put down their chopsticks in surprise. This year, no Slytherin girl chose Care of Magical Creatures, except Pansy Parkinson who was willing to take risks for love and accompanied Draco Malfoy to class.

Draco continued, "They are capable of more than just breathing fire. The female has suckers on her belly that can suck blood, and the male has thorns on his body that can sting..."

The surrounding witches began to lose interest, and Sigrid was even more stingy about looking at Malfoy. Draco finally ended the topic boringly and turned his attention to the Potter trio who entered the cafeteria.

Draco picked up the Daily Prophet on the table and went to the opposite side with his two followers to find trouble for Potter.

Listening to the back-and-forth verbal exchanges from the distance, Sigrid was really convinced by Draco. How could she childishly provoke Potter even though she was already in fourth grade?

When she heard Draco starting to sarcastic about Mrs. Weasley, Sigrid couldn't help but put down the tableware and wanted to stop it, or at least pull Draco back.

She clearly heard it but was indifferent. When the trio looks back in the future, they will definitely think that she looks down on the Weasley family. God knows, she just doesn't want to pay attention to childish boy's games.

When Sigrid approached, Ron was trembling with anger, and the little wizards around him were staring at him.

"Shut up, Malfoy." Harry stopped in front of Ron.

"Oh, by the way, you are living with their family this summer, right, Potter?" Malfoy said sarcastically: "Then tell me, is his mother really that fat, or does it just look like this in this photo?" fat?"

Seeing that Ron was about to break away from Harry and Hermione like an angry lion, Sigrid, who hadn't figured out how to stop the farce, had to go up with her scalp on her head.

"Okay, Draco, come back with me!" Sigrid grabbed Draco's arm and pulled him back. It's a pity that the girl doesn't have the advantage in terms of power. Her joining not only failed to calm the dispute, but actually made it more serious.

Draco shook her hand away unceremoniously, and Sigrid was pushed back two or three steps before she stopped. "What's the matter, Sigrid? I said just two words about Potter and it made you feel bad? You have really bad taste. What did you see in him?"

Draco glanced at Potter with disgust and then fixed his eyes on Sigrid, as if he had seen their adultery.

Sigrid, who was innocently shot and humiliated in public, was so stunned that she forgot to retort. Hermione wanted to step forward but was afraid that Sigrid would be caught in the middle and cause more trouble.

"Shut your stinky mouth, Malfoy!" Harry couldn't help but prepare to take out his wand and give this guy a lesson.

But before Harry could cast the spell, a white light grazed his face and shot in the direction of Malfoy. The originally living person disappeared and was replaced by a tiny ferret.

Professor Moody limped towards the crowd with a wand in his hand, and the students consciously cleared a path.

He came to the little stoat, which was spinning helplessly, and grabbed it in his hand. Ignoring its screams and struggles, he playfully threw it high into the air with his wand and then let it fall down hard.

The little wizards around them all retreated unconsciously. Sigrid looked at the helpless little ferret and said to stop him, "Professor Moody, you are violating the teaching regulations. He is already injured!"

"He deserves a lesson on how to respect others!" Moody said to the serious-looking girl, and then threw the ferret ten feet high.

Sigrid couldn't help but want to run away. This professor was too dangerous.

"Professor Moody, what are you doing?" It was Professor McGonagall's voice. Immediately afterwards, she rushed in and looked at the ferret being teased. "This-is this a student?" Her heart tightened.

You must know that transfiguration is very dangerous. Once you turn into an animal, your body will be as fragile as an animal. The pain cannot be expressed. You cannot call for help when in danger. There is a risk of death at any time.

Professor McGonagall solemnly took out her wand to undo the spell. After the poor Draco Malfoy recovered, he was still huddled in a ball on the floor and shivering, his already pale face even more ugly.

Sigrid quickly went up to help him. Draco couldn't help but retreat out of habit after being touched. Sigrid couldn't help him up by herself. She could only look up and saw Crabbe and Goyle still standing. He was so scared that he was in a daze on the spot. She hated Tie Bu Cheng Gang's reminder, "Stop being in a daze, take him to the infirmary quickly!"
