Head of Teaching at Hogwarts
Chapter 5 My Office
In the principal's office, Russell and Dumbledore exchanged seats and fell into silence again.
Dumbledore stared down at the table where he had worked for more than 40 years, as if he was recalling something.
After a long time, he raised his head and said awkwardly: "Then Principal Russell, is there anything else I can do?"
Russell showed a happy expression, "Principal Dumbledore, today is Friday, I think we can have a dinner together on Sunday night similar to the one we have every year at the beginning of school to inform all Hogwarts students of the news.
And now I want you to inform the four deans of the news, and then leave my office as quickly as possible, and I will handle the rest. "
Dumbledore was suddenly at a loss, especially when he heard Russell say "my office", he was obviously stunned.
There's something about "getting out of my office as quickly as possible" that always sounds weird.
Perhaps this was just a habit of speaking. Dumbledore shook his long silver beard and said, "Of course, I will do my final job just like every principal does when they leave office."
Then, Dumbledore waved his wand, and a burst of white smoke emerged from the end of the wand, quickly condensing into a silver-white phoenix.
Russell knew that this was Dumbledore using his Patronus to notify the deans of the four major colleges.
Dumbledore smiled and said: "Russell, thank you very much for your willingness to help take over an old man's task. I have accumulated a lot of things on my wish list over the years, almost as many as a whole piece of parchment. Now Finally got a chance to do something of my own. "
"You're welcome." Russell nodded in agreement, "It has always been my habit to respect the elderly, love the young, and be eager to help others."
Watching Dumbledore wave his hand, put all his personal belongings into a suitcase, and then grab Phoenix Fawkes' paw and disappear into his office.
Russell breathed a sigh of relief and solved Dumbledore's problem. After three years and four months, he finally returned to Hogwarts, the magical education center in the UK and even the world, as the principal.
At this position, I should be able to carry out my century-old education plan and improve my magic level.
After calming down, Russell snapped his fingers and summoned his house elf Illidan, instructing him to keep an eye on the area around the principal's office and report to him immediately if there were any special circumstances.
Now he is going to communicate with the portraits of past principals in the office.
Just as he was about to say hello to Sirius's great-great-grandfather, the elf Illidan appeared.
"Mr. Russell, Professor McGonagall is outside."
Then, Russell heard a "pile of cockroaches" and saw Professor McGonagall walking in hurriedly.
"Carl, where is Dumbledore?" Professor McGonagall asked, adjusting her glasses and looking around.
After thinking for a moment, Russell already understood what was going on. It was obvious that Dumbledore had just informed the four deans that he had replaced him.
Although the four deans were not notified to come to the principal's office, Professor McGonagall, the most impatient of the four deans, had already come to the door on his own.
He is worthy of being the reckless dean of the Normal University. After being a professor for so many years, although he usually tries his best to restrain himself, he still cannot hide his inner reckless nature.
Russell smiled and did not answer Professor McGonagall's question directly, but said: "Professor McGonagall, you don't even want to call me principal."
Mag snorted coldly. She had also taught Russell, and her heart was actually very complicated for this studious and enthusiastic student.
Professor McGonagall still liked Russell very much. He felt that he was smart and hard-working, and his attitude towards learning and knowledge was even better than that of his younger self.
And he also likes to help those students who are underachieving. This passion even goes beyond the academy.
But when he thought about the House Cup, which had been monopolized by Slytherin for nine consecutive years, Professor McGonagall felt awkward again.
Since Russell's second year, he has actively led his Slytherin classmates through tutoring classes to answer questions, and won six consecutive Academy Cups while in school.
And relying on Russell's legacy of seven years in Slytherin, three years after he left, Slytherin won the Academy Cup for three consecutive years.
Even last year, Harry Potter and his two companions accomplished such feats as subduing trolls and protecting wizards.
For this reason, Dumbledore even favored Gryffindor to the point where he, the Head of Gryffindor, could not stand it. Slytherin still relied on its usual accumulation to win the House Cup without any danger. .
......
"You don't even want to call me principal."
Professor McGonagall's recollection was interrupted and she pursed her lips, "Russell... Principal Russell, may I ask where Dumbledore is."
Russell nodded with satisfaction and did not answer Professor McGonagall's question directly. Instead, he said: "We will see him again next Monday. As the principal, what I care about most now is the students' performance."
"Students' scores?" McGonagall repeated in her mind.
Russell's words were completely unexpected to her. Shouldn't the principal of Hogwarts stay in the office with his bird all day long, eat candy, and fish?
Major matters such as admissions are automatically handled by the magic of Hogwarts, while other small matters such as teaching are left to the four deans and other professors.
Even Dumbledore's only admission invitation letter that required the principal to write had been written by her as the vice principal over the years.
Maybe his only job is to figure out how to find a new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor every year, or think about the speech at the opening dinner.
This is Dumbledore's normal state as headmaster.
On the first day he became the principal, Russell actually started to care about the academic performance of the little wizards, which was completely beyond Mag's expectation.
"What do you need?" Although it was a bit unexpected, Mag still asked businesslikely.
"Give me information about each student, including family background, student performance, number of students in each grade and college, and I need to do a performance analysis."
Professor McGonagall nodded, turned and left.
Five minutes later, a large pile of parchment flew in under the control of Professor McGonagall, and Russell casually turned a chair on the ground into a long table.
Professor McGonagall understood and put the parchment on it, "A very clever transfiguration technique."
"This is the result of my special self-study method." Russell said truthfully.
Professor McGonagall's face darkened. Russell was so good at talking that she thought he should be a Gryffindor.
Dumbledore stared down at the table where he had worked for more than 40 years, as if he was recalling something.
