Hogwarts executioner

Chapter 18 It’s not easy these days

The childish talk of four children under ten years old made several adults laugh.

When it was dinner in the evening, the four children were sitting at the table, and Annie was still asking William about various things about the wizarding world, and William told half-truths and half-truths.

Catherine helped in the kitchen, Daniel chatted with his great-aunt and uncle, and Angus and Alan played chess.

After a while, Serena stood in the corridor on the second floor and shouted to the downstairs: "Angus, come up quickly, Mr. Blair's phone number."

Tony Blair, the second-largest figure in the British Labor Party, second only to John Smith, is the most likely heavyweight politician to compete for prime minister in the future.

The British Labor Party has been suppressed by the Conservative Party, but it has begun to recover in recent years, and its seats in the House of Commons have gradually increased.

The Labor Party is the biggest competitor of the ruling Conservative Party, and Blair can also be said to be one of the political opponents of the female prime minister. It is normal for him and Angus to come together.

But the relationship between the Blair family and Catherine is somewhat complicated. Catherine rejected Blair's nephew back then.

After half an hour on the phone, Angus came down with a face of embarrassment and hesitated for a long time.

"Uh... um... uh..."

What's that? The whole room looked at Angus with wide eyes, wondering what he wanted to say.

"Mom, dad is mute!"

Anne watched Angus hold back his words for a long time, his smile disappearing little by little, and then he sat next to William and howled.

"Ah, daddy is speechless!"

Serena glared at her husband, walked over quickly and picked up her daughter. Looking at her thoughtful sister and her family, she could only speak on her behalf: "Ellen, sister, I'm sorry about something. Tony is coming. He will discuss some important matters with Angus later, so I need you to stay away for the time being."

Angus said awkwardly: "How about, Serena, you take everyone to watch a movie."

Annie's crying stopped suddenly and she stared at Angus.

Serena categorically objected: "I must be at home, and the children must be there. On a festive occasion like today, Tony gathers in private, and we must show due etiquette and sincerity."

William originally thought that Catherine would stand up and take the whole family away, but he didn't expect Daniel to say first: "Well, I am very happy to have dinner with you today, and I think we should go back."

The expressions of the three old people were all ugly, especially the uncle. He kicked out the invited relatives from the house, which really made the old people unhappy. But in front of Daniel, the children, etc., he couldn't reprimand him directly, so he could only sit down angrily.

"Well, everyone, see you next time." Daniel took the overwhelmed Ellen, and Catherine took William's hand, got into the car and left together.

Angus led his family to the door with an embarrassed expression on his face.

"They're a little too much," Allen said dissatisfied.

"Calm down and drive well, it's not too much at all." Catherine said calmly, "I don't think there is anything wrong with their approach. Politics is about doing one thing in front of your face and another behind your back."

Daniel said calmly: "Everyone has their own difficulties. It can be seen that he is also very difficult."

The whole group stopped talking, only the sound of cars running on the way home.

Soon after returning home, the family ate a simple light meal and sat by the fireplace watching TV.

William is not very interested in TV dramas, so he writes letters to Furong lying on the coffee table.

Catherine held an economics book to read. This kind of thing has a very good hypnotic effect. When Alan couldn't sleep, he liked to borrow it and read it to improve the quality of his sleep.

Near 10 o'clock in the evening, when the four of them were about to break up and rest, the phone rang.

William, who was sitting by the coffee table, picked up the phone, "Hi, hello, this is Smith's house in Woking Town."

"Hello, William, I'm Serena, can you let your mother answer the phone?" Serena's voice sounded.

"Mom, aunt's phone number." William looked at Catherine and said.

Catherine stood up and took the phone and said, "Selena, why are you calling so late?"

"Sister, I'm really sorry tonight, but you know that Blair is very important to Angus. Are you and Alan coming to London in a few days? I want to invite you to dinner. I'm so sorry." Serene Na said on the other end of the phone.

"Okay, I'll ask their opinions." Catherine replied: "Selina would like to invite everyone to dinner in London as an apology. Do you want to participate?"

After Catherine explained, William shook his head.

"Sorry, mom, I need to study alchemy at home recently."

"I think we should accept Serena's apology. After all, she didn't mean it, and she is your aunt." Allen changed his position again and tried to persuade William very enthusiastically.

Daniel frowned and said, "I'm not angry about what happened tonight, but I don't want to go to dinner."

In a private luxury manor in London, an elderly man is lying on the bed, and the infusion tube next to the bed slowly sends transparent medicinal liquid into the old man's vein.

Under the soft light, Nuo Da's room was illuminated, except for an adult woman who didn't know whether it was a doctor or a nurse, there was only a blonde witch standing beside the bed talking.

The sound of hurried footsteps sounded in the corridor outside the room, causing the witch to stop talking.

Without waiting for a knock on the door, the door was pushed open.

The same blond-haired old gentleman leaned on a cane and stood at the door, looking at his father indifferently.

"What's the matter? My son." The sick old man asked with a smile.

An old gentleman named Paul Cavendish, Catherine's father, William's grandfather, looked at his father who had to deal with drugs every day, and asked in a deep voice, "Father, why did you do that?"

The old Duke was puzzled: "What are you talking about? What did I do?"

Paul said angrily: "You sent someone to follow Catherine, and you deliberately let Angus and Blair approach, and arranged that farce tonight."

The old Duke asked: "Do you think it is a farce?"

Seeing that his father was getting old and sick, Paul suppressed his resentment. He immediately pulled his face down after hearing his rhetorical question, and said in a stinging tone, "Apart from humiliating Catherine and the others, and satisfying your stubborn family glory, what purpose do you have?"

The old Duke said calmly, "I'm very optimistic about Black."

"Be optimistic about Black, what does it have to do with tonight's incident?" Paul said violently, completely different from his calmness in the parliament in the past.

The old Duke smiled and said: "Have you forgotten Catherine's humiliation to Blake? Now Blake needs our support, forget or don't care about that thing, but it is a thorn after all."

Paul snorted coldly: "If Black only has this ability, he will never even think about becoming the prime minister."

The old Duke said: "No matter how powerful he is, we need to remove this thorn and prove our sincerity, which can make our cooperation more stable."

"So just for this ridiculous reason, let my youngest daughter humiliate my eldest daughter?"

"Paul, Catherine is no longer the princess of the Cavendish family. She has insulted this noble surname. She enjoys the resources, honor and power of the family, but refuses to fulfill her obligations."

Paul raised his crutch and tapped it hard on the ground, "She is my daughter."

The old duke said: "You are not only my son, but also the Duke of Cavendish."

Paul looked at his father and said sadly: "Father, don't force me, I will take action next time."

The old Duke said: "For the sake of the family, you must learn to give up."

The current Duke of Cavendish turned and left, followed by an obvious shadow in the light.

The old Duke said disappointedly: "Emily, now, my son doesn't even want to call him father."
