Hogwarts Survival Sim
Chapter 10 Lihen Bookstore
After struggling through the crowd, Ethan and the others saw a long queue from the back of the bookstore to the door.
They found a random Lockhart book and sneaked over to where the Weasleys and Grangers were queuing up.
The team moved forward slowly, and gradually, Lockhart appeared in front of them.
He sat behind the desk, surrounded by large photos of himself, the faces in the photos all winking at the crowd, flashing dazzling white teeth. The real Lockhart wore robes as blue as the forget-me-nots, matching his blue eyes. The pointed wizard hat is playfully tilted on his curly hair.
"Give way!" A short and grumpy photographer pushed Ron aside, "This is for the Daily Prophet."
"That's amazing!" Ron said, rubbing his stepped foot.
This sentence was obviously heard by Lockhart, because he looked over here.
He saw Ron first, then Harry. He stared at Harry for a while, then suddenly smiled in surprise.
Lockhart stood up. He opened his mouth to say something, but suddenly stopped. His eyes fell on Ethan's half-smiling face.
Ethan clearly felt Lockhart's expression stiffen for a moment, and then quickly avoided his gaze.
"Isn't this Harry Potter?"
The crowd made a way, and Lockhart rushed forward, pulling Harry forward, and the crowd burst into applause.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Lockhart said loudly, waving everyone for silence, "what an extraordinary moment this is! I want to take advantage of this wonderful occasion to announce a small announcement..."
Ethan frowned at Lockhart's performance and realized something was wrong.
"According to the memory I modified for him, he should never react like this when he sees me. Unless...the memory spell has expired."
"It seems I still underestimate you, Gilderoy Lockhart." Ethan murmured.
Lockhart is by no means a good person, but he may not really be a waste.Especially in terms of memory magic, he can be said to be gifted. It was indeed a bit natural to think of using the memory spell to control him.
Soon, having obtained a complete set of Lockhart's signed works, Harry staggered out of the center of public attention. And Ethan also came to Lockhart.
"Professor Lockhart," he said softly, "I thought we might have a chat."
Lockhart, who was bowing his head to sign, trembled for a moment, then replied in a low voice with difficulty:
"Of course... of course you can."
Then he stood up, whispered a few words to the staff next to him, then stood up and walked to the rest room specially prepared by the bookstore.
"Ladies and gentlemen," the staff member shouted, "I'm sorry, but our book-selling session needs to be suspended for 10 minutes. Mr. Lockhart needs a brief rest."
Ethan also came to the lounge while no one was paying attention.
"I know you will definitely come to me." As soon as Ethan walked in, he saw Lockhart sitting dejectedly on the sofa, completely missing his previous demeanor.
"Have you unlocked my memory spell?" Ethan asked calmly.
"Yes," Lockhart laughed miserably, "As someone who often plays with other people's memories, how could he not take some precautions with his own?"
He raised his head and looked at Ethan, his lips trembling and asked:
"So? What do you want? Expose me, let everyone know I'm a liar, and send me to Azkaban?"
"You really should pay for what you did." Ethan said coldly, "Even if I really did it, you deserved it."
Lockhart said nothing. He buried his head in his lap again.
"It's just that I don't have such plans for the time being. I have other things for you to do."
"what's up?"
"I told you, didn't I? I'm going to be the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor's assistant."
"But, why..."
"You really don't think you can teach the students anything, do you?" Ethan interrupted him with sarcastic words, "Are you going to read your plagiarized novels to us in class?"
"But I don't want everyone to waste this precious time of this year, so if you still want to be the respected Lockhart, then I will take over the Defense Against the Dark Arts course."
"...I know." Lockhart said after a moment of silence.
He watched Ethan turn around and prepare to leave the lounge, and couldn't help but ask:
"But what good will this do to you?"
There was no answer, only the sound of footsteps gradually disappearing.
…………
"Ethan! Where were you just now?"
As soon as he walked out of the lounge, Ethan met Hermione who was looking for him.
Hermione looked behind Ethan, her expression becoming complicated.
"That's Professor Lockhart's lounge. Ethan, you...you shouldn't bother him."
"Although it is true, I always feel that this matter is different from what you imagined." Ethan muttered in his heart.
"Go find Harry and the others first. I'll tell you what happened later."
"Ok."
So Hermione took Ethan and walked in the direction of Harry and the Weasley family, and then they saw:
Mr. Weasley lunged at Lucius Malfoy and knocked him against a bookshelf. Then dozens of thick spell books fell on their heads.
Fortunately, Hagrid came over and immediately pulled them apart.
Although there was a commotion at the scene, Ethan could see clearly.Just now, Malfoy took advantage of the chaos and stuffed a diary into Ginny's old Transfiguration textbook.
Then he thrust the book into her hand, with a vicious glint in his eyes.
"Here. Little girl - take your book - this is the best thing your father can give you -" He broke free from Hagrid's arm and rushed out of the store with his son.
Hermione rushed to comfort her parents, who were clearly frightened by what had just happened.
Ethan walked up to Ginny and picked up the tattered "Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration".
"Mrs. Weasley, if you don't mind, I can give Ginny my textbook from last year."
"No, kid." Mrs. Weasley shook her head.
Ethan pulled Ron next to him with his hand and asked him to help persuade Mrs. Weasley.
"It's okay, Mom." Ron said, "Ethan's grades are very good, and I guess he won't need the first-grade textbooks in the future. Right, Ethan."
"Yes, Mrs. Weasley." He nodded towards Mrs. Weasley, "And I have spare textbooks at home."
"If that's the case, fine. Thank you, Ethan."
"It's okay, Ron and I are good friends. And I really like the sweater you knitted for me."
After hearing this, Mrs. Weasley finally smiled happily.
And the old Transfiguration textbook, together with the diary inside, was already lying quietly in the pocket of Ethan's arms.
They found a random Lockhart book and sneaked over to where the Weasleys and Grangers were queuing up.
