A sharp Hogwarts

Chapter 9 Dalia’s Secret

"Wait, what's going on..."

Hagrid looked particularly confused as he looked at the two letters in Dalia's hand.

Dumbledore told him that he might have trouble finding Harry because there were many things he didn't know.

In fact, Hagrid heard some not-so-good rumors from Professor McGonagall - about the Dursleys.

So when Dumbledore made a request to him, Hagrid agreed without hesitation.

No one could stop Lily and James Potter's son from going to Hogwarts, and he was even ready to kidnap him.

However, Dumbledore never told him that in this Muggle family that did not believe in magic, there was actually a new student at Hogwarts this year.

"Well, as you can see, I got a letter from Hogwarts too."

Dalia shrugged calmly, glanced at her parents who were stunned, and added something extra after thinking about it.

"On the afternoon that Harry first received the letter, a chubby old wizard appeared in my bedroom and gave me this letter."

"Besides, he also told me a lot of stories about Hogwarts, well, some of them were about Harry and Aunt Lily..."

"Wizard?! Chubby-oh...Professor Sprout?"

After hearing this, Hagrid was stunned for half a second, searched in his mind, and patted his head in sudden realization.

"Hey, let me tell you. When children from Muggle families receive a letter from Hogwarts, a professor usually comes to explain it."

"But..." Hagrid quickly frowned and looked at Dalia with a confused look on his face, "Didn't Professor Sprout introduce it to your parents and explain it?"

"At that time, my parents were quarreling over Harry's letter, and the wizard gentleman thought it might not be suitable..."

Dalia hesitated for a few seconds, looked at Mr. Dursley, who looked uncertain, and said cautiously.

"He thinks that you and mom will most likely not agree to my admission. After all, you reacted very strongly at the time."

"So he suggested that I wait until Harry enters school and explain it together..."

"Wait! Chubby-Old...Mr?!"

Hagrid suddenly interrupted and looked at Dalia suspiciously.

"There are no chubby old professors at Hogwarts...

"Are you sure he is a Hogwarts professor? Did he say which course he teaches?"

To his mind, there was no one on the Hogwarts staff who fit that description.

Dumbledore, Snape, Flitwick, Sinister...

He thought seriously for a long time, and even including Professor Kettleburn, who was about to retire, and Filch, the castle administrator, there was no suitable candidate.

At the same time, Mr. Dursley also vaguely guessed the reason for Hagrid's doubts - obviously, there seemed to be something wrong with the wizard who didn't even dare to meet them?

He exchanged a worried look with his wife.

Just a few minutes ago, Mr. Dursley had thought that nothing could be worse than Dahlia receiving a letter from the wizarding school.

Now he and Petunia find the "worse thing": an unknown wizard breaks into the house and tries to trick Dahlia.

"Well, he did. He said he taught Potions at Hogwarts."

Dalia looked like she was thinking hard and answered hesitantly with some uncertainty.

"And he's also...Sly...the dean of some college?"

"Slytherin House." Hagrid added in a dull voice.

"Yeah, yes, it's Slytherin House-"

Dalia nodded quickly, looked at Hagrid slightly uneasily, and asked proactively.

"So, what's the problem with all this? Like no Potions class or that Slytherin thing?"

"Well - Slytherin House is indeed one of the four houses of Hogwarts, and there is also a Potions class."

Hagrid said with a confused look on his face. Dumbledore never told him that the situation here was so complicated.

"But the Potions Master and the Head of Slytherin are not chubby old gentlemen."

He scratched his disheveled black hair, glanced at the two letters on Dalia's lap, and said impatiently.

"I admit that Snape looks a bit older, but he has absolutely nothing to do with the adjective 'chubby' -"

"By the way, did that guy tell you his name? Don't tell me he's also called Snape - well, this is the real Potions Professor and Headmaster."

Anger gradually appeared on Hagrid's face, he clenched his fists and snorted coldly.

"Hmph, how brave you are to pretend to be a Hogwarts professor... It's best not to let me know who it is -"

call……

Come on, come on, finally come to this question.

Dalia secretly breathed a sigh of relief, one lie had to be covered up with ten lies.

In order to fulfill her foresight, she rehearsed it countless times in her mind last night and finally finalized a perfect set of words.

"That's not true. The gentleman asked me to call him..."

Dalia coughed lightly, raised her head thoughtfully, and said slowly in a long tone.

"...Professor Slughorn? Well, that's roughly how it's pronounced, right? The professor told me that he was entrusted with delivering a message to me."

"Oh! Wait, he should be the professor at Hogwarts, because I remember he said that Aunt Lily is his favorite student!"

"Professor Slughorn? Horace Slughorn?!"

Hagrid was stunned for another two or three seconds. The anger on his face disappeared, and his expression suddenly became extremely strange.

"Uh-ah-it's Professor Slughorn-it's like this-"

"Hey, Mr. Hagrid, do you know that old wizard?"

"Of course I know..."

Hagrid said somewhat uncomfortably. He glanced at Dalia and the Dursleys awkwardly.

"When I was at school, Slughorn was the Potions Professor and, of course, the Head of Slytherin House."

"Well, if it's Professor Slughorn, then there is no problem - yes, he did like Lily very much back then. If there is any professor in Hogwarts who likes Lily the most, it is definitely him. As for Professor Slughorn will give a more detailed introduction to Hogwarts and about Lily and Harry than I will."

"Then you try to introduce and explain it to your parents first. I'll get some food first. If you have any questions, I'll just add them later..."

Hagrid hesitated and sat down on the sofa again, his heavy body causing the sofa to collapse.

He began to take out various things from his coat pocket:

A copper kettle, a package of flattened sausages, a poker, a teapot, a few chipped cups and a bottle of amber liquid.

He took a big sip and then started making tea.The cabin was immediately filled with the aroma and sizzling sound of grilled sausages.

Except no one cared about the sizzling sausages and tea now except Dudley.

Everyone's attention was focused on the father and daughter confronting each other in the center of the room.

Vernon Dursley took several deep breaths, trying to keep his voice from sounding out of control.

"So, Dalia. No matter what that strange guy said to you, or what you saw in the letter..."

"What I want to tell you is - those things are all lies! I and your mother will never allow those damn things to get even half a step closer to you!"

Obviously, Dalia's "intrusion" completely disrupted Mr. Dursley's plan, and he had to start to reorganize the logic of the whole thing.

Unfortunately, compared to Mr. Dursley who responded hastily, Dahlia was too well prepared.

"I'm sorry, Dad - I have my reasons for having to go to Hogwarts."

Dalia took a breath and whispered sadly. As she spoke, she glanced at her mother who was standing behind her father.

"Magic is both a gift and a curse."

"If there is no systematic education, magic may form a monster called Obscurus in the wizard's body."

"Once the Obscurus takes shape in a wizard's body, it can take anywhere from a few days to a few years for the host to fail. It is irreversible and cannot be cured."

"So, Dad, Mom, Harry and I have to go to Hogwarts to learn magic."

"We want to... survive!"
