Chapter 168 Highest Alert

Tricurve Wing Building, Director's Office.

Fury used his powers as director to drive out all the staff on the first floor and then turned off all surveillance equipment.

Now he was the only one left on this floor.

After doing all this, Fury walked to a secret room.

After closing the door and making sure no one would eavesdrop, Fury walked into this small room.

The room has a fan-shaped structure, is clean and tidy, and is full of technology.

There was nothing messy in the room, not even a chair.

Fury walked up to a circular terrace in the middle of the room.

Just stood up~

Drop~

With the terrace as the center, linear blue lights spread around, and a virtual keyboard appeared in front of Fury.

Fury's hands turned into afterimages on the keyboard, and then there was a soft beeping sound, and the blue light in the room suddenly turned red and flashed several times rapidly.

hum~

Five minutes later, five virtual screens suddenly appeared on the curved wall in front of Fury, and five people with different expressions also appeared at the same time.

The chests of two of them were heaving violently, showing that they had just undergone strenuous exercise.

"Director Fury, what happened? Why was the maximum alert procedure initiated? Do you know what this means?"

On the second screen from the left, a reserved and dignified white lady in her fifties with obvious freckles on her face looked seriously at Fury, who was standing in the middle.

Maximum alert procedures.

Special powers given to the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. by the World Security Council.

As a worldwide special agency, SHIELD's responsibility is to prevent and handle crises that may endanger world security.

Under normal circumstances, SHIELD can handle this kind of crisis by itself, as long as it reports to the World Security Council at regular intervals and accepts supervision and inspection.

But there are too many secrets hidden in this world, many of which are beyond the control of SHIELD and the World Security Council.

Maximum alert procedures are designed to respond to crises that could lead to a world-wide disaster.

A world-class disaster cannot be solved by SHIELD itself, or a family or a country. All forces that can be combined must be combined.

This actually means that the World Security Council learned the lessons of the First Mutant War and specifically gave the director of SHIELD the power to deal with this situation.

This is the first time that the highest alert program has been activated since it was assigned to the Director of SHIELD.

The two panting ambassadors were originally in a meeting, but they were almost frightened to death by this thing. They ran for five minutes before finally arriving at the meeting place on time.

Although the other three were not as embarrassed as the two, their faces were not pretty either.

Facing the scrutinizing and questioning gazes of the five ambassadors, Fury took his time and said with a serious face: "Ambassadors, of course I know what it means to activate the highest alert, but the current situation is imminent. I think other than that, It doesn’t solve the problem at all.”

"Fury, this is no joke. SHIELD spends so much money every year. What problem can't SHIELD solve?" reminded an ambassador on the far right.

"SHIELD?" Fury said expressionlessly, "The current SHIELD is no longer SHIELD?"

Fury's words caused the five ambassadors to frown at the same time.

"What do you mean?"

Fury did not answer, but took out a small memory chip and inserted it into the console that had just risen.

"Everyone, this is encrypted top-secret information. I will explain the whole thing to you one by one."

Afterwards, Fury explained to the five ambassadors one by one the situation that he and others had been secretly investigating, as well as Natasha's confession after surrendering, the situation that he had verified, and then everything he investigated based on those clues.

Seven months have passed since Natasha surrendered. During these seven months, Fury did not rely on SHIELD, but relied on his own personal connections to do all the investigations he could.

As Natasha said, in the past few months, Hydra has become more active, and the investigation is not as strenuous as before, but it still consumes Fury's energy.

As more and more information came into his hands, Fury's heart became heavier.

Hydra's power is beyond Fury's imagination.

If only this wasn't enough to make Fury's sense of crisis so strong.

But with the mutant factor, he had to think of the worst.

The abilities of mutants are weird and powerful. He doesn't know what Ania's situation is now. He doesn't know how many mutants there are, let alone what their abilities are.

Facing the blank of knowing nothing, and with the lessons learned from the first mutant war, Fury believed that it was understandable to activate the highest alert.

After listening to Fury's explanation, the five ambassadors fell silent.

After a long time, the ambassador in the middle asked with a trace of anger: "Fury, these are just your speculations, where is the evidence? You have to know that once you decide to deal with Aniya, it will be a war, a possible In a war that involves the whole world, we cannot agree with your speculation so easily."

For a time, the five ambassadors began to angrily accuse Fury.

"Yes, Hydra's power is indeed beyond imagination, but what is its purpose? You only mentioned that they are active, but they have not done anything to harm the world."

"We cannot decide to launch a war against Aniya based on your words."

"Once we tear up the agreement first, the mutants will have more excuses to retaliate against humans, and we can't do that."

......

Fury had already anticipated the reactions of the five ambassadors.

Until now, the word war has only appeared in the mouth of Natasha's dead sister.

Hydra is active, but there is no direct evidence that they are preparing to launch a war.

When it comes to mutants, no one can easily make a decision without direct evidence.

Fortunately, Fury had anticipated this situation and had his own response.

I saw him calmly saying: "Ambassadors, please be patient. In fact, it is very simple to prove this point. Send someone to Aniya to find out."

The room suddenly became extremely quiet, and the five ambassadors looked at Fury like he was an idiot.

After a while, the female ambassador spoke again.

"Fury, the 'Forbidden Wall' is heavily guarded, and mutants are extremely xenophobic. Ever since the 'Forbidden Wall' was built, no one has ever brought out any information. Do you think you can get the information inside by just sending someone in?" ?"

Fury smiled slightly: "Your people can't, but my people can."

The five ambassadors looked at each other.

"who is it?"

"X-Men, Professor Charles Xavier, Head of Xavier Academy for the Gifted."

As soon as he finished speaking, the other ambassadors had no reaction, and the expression of the ambassador in the middle suddenly became extremely unnatural.

Fury saw it at a glance, and then asked: "Ambassador Charles, it seems that you know this person."

The other four ambassadors were attracted by Fury's words and looked at Ambassador Charles in the middle.

With that look on his face, one could tell that something was going on. Although Charles quickly returned to normal, there was no one present who was not human, and that fleeting expression was still captured by them.

"Ambassador Charles, do you have anything to explain to us?"
