Konoha Sheriff

Chapter 39 I pay

The next morning, in front of the open space outside the BBQ Q shop.

The aunt who was the first to pay Beichen yesterday did not come to grab the land before dawn as usual because she paid the money. Instead, she slept until nearly seven o'clock, pushing the food that her husband had prepared. The cart rushed to Barbecue Q.

However, before she could get closer, she saw a middle-aged man occupying the spot she had circled with white lime from a distance.

The aunt parked the cart in front of the middle-aged man's stall and shouted dissatisfied:

"Get up, get up, this is my place!"

When the middle-aged man heard this, he looked at her disdainfully:

"You said that your place is your place? Does this place have your name?"

"Of course I have it. The young minister of the police force put the sticker on me yesterday!"

As the aunt said this, she went to lift the sack that the man had laid on the ground and tore open the sack. However, she saw that the stickers on the ground had long since disappeared, leaving only a little white mark left after tearing it apart.

Seeing the aunt's constantly changing expressions, the middle-aged man grinned, revealing his big yellow teeth:

"Did you see it? I don't have your name. Go aside as soon as possible. Don't delay my business."

"It was obvious yesterday that people from the police force..."

"Do you really think that someone took you 200 taels and made you the number one person? There were so many people who paid you yesterday, who knows who you are?"

The middle-aged man looked at the aunt with disdain, looking proud.

"I...I..." The aunt wanted to say, "I'll go find someone from the police force right now," but she didn't have the slightest confidence when she spoke.

Yes, those people in the police force usually look askance at people, would they really listen to what she said about a bad old woman?

The aunt subconsciously looked around and found that many of the vendors who paid with her yesterday were lamenting and sighing at the place they had circled yesterday.

Looking at this scene, the aunt subconsciously wanted to curse, but at this moment she heard the sound of neat footsteps and a loud whistle.

After the sharp whistle, a group of police force members led by Beichen came to the street.

When the aunt saw Beichen, her eyes lit up and she ran over, taking three steps at a time and then two steps at a time:

"Oh, Minister Beichen, you are here, you have to make the decision for us..."

Beichen still remembered this aunt, so he separated from the crowd and walked up to hold her hand affectionately:

"Auntie, I still remember you. You were the first to pay yesterday."

"Yes, yes, I was the first one to pay yesterday. Look, I paid yesterday, but that person still dared to take my place..."

Beichen subconsciously raised his eyes and saw that the middle-aged man looked away unnaturally under his gaze.

After signaling to the team members behind him, Beichen immediately walked over with the aunt:

"Are you related to this aunt?"

Facing the imposing Beichen, the middle-aged man was not as arrogant as before, and said dullly:

"Uh, it's not..."

"Then leave quickly. You don't want my men to help you, do you?"

"I...leave now." He was clearly cursing, but the middle-aged man quickly stood up and put the vegetables on the ground into the bag one by one.

Just as he was about to carry the sack to the open space next to him, Beichen stopped him again:

"The area that we have not marked is a planned public travel area. You cannot set up stalls anywhere. Violators will be fined 500 taels. In addition..."

Beichen kept looking at the remaining sticker marks on the ground:

"Unauthorized destruction of public beauty will result in a fine of 100 taels."

The middle-aged man glanced at Beichen, and then at the powerful police ministers behind him. After all, he couldn't stand it any longer.

He first took out a 100-tael bill from his pocket and gave it to Beichen, and then said:

"Then I have to stop doing business, right?"

"Our police force is only responsible for maintaining daily security and does not restrict villagers from doing business."

"But if you arrange it this way, where will those of us who didn't buy a stall go to do business?"

"You can choose to pay now to subscribe for a stall, or you can..." Beichen said as he said that more than a dozen vendors gathered around a door in the distance, almost blocking the entrance to the small shop.

"Well, that store over there is not included in our business scope because we haven't paid the management fee. If you don't mind, you can go there and squeeze in."

The middle-aged man glanced at the crowd of vendors that were as densely packed as sardine cans, and then at the sealed store entrance. After all, he gritted his teeth and took out another 200 taels of cash from his pocket:

"I'll pay!"

…………

After solving Auntie's problem, Beichen asked the team members to disperse and go to various vendors planned yesterday to inspect them one by one.

Some people packed up their things and left obediently, but others tried to deny it.

Facing the guy who tried to deny it, the members of the police force raised the drawings in their hands.

It was a thumbnail topographic map of this street. The same number of grids were planned in front of each store according to the area, and the name of the person who paid yesterday was registered on each grid.

There are pictures and the truth. No matter how quibly the vendors who occupy the space are, they can only leave obediently.

In less than a quarter of an hour, the originally noisy and crowded commercial street that was almost impassable suddenly became orderly.

The street suddenly became much wider as the vendors setting up stalls haphazardly disappeared, without affecting pedestrians' travel at all.

If you ignore the stores that were crowded together because they had not paid, it would be an understatement to say that the changes in the entire street have been earth-shaking.

The villagers who were originally complaining about "arbitrary charges for the police force causing street congestion" looked at the brand-new streets and their complaints immediately changed to:

"No wonder I had to collect money from the vendors like that yesterday. After paying the money like this, the unified plan looks different."

"Yes, we used to have to go around and around to get to the street, and we had to queue up to pass in some places. Now it's smooth and direct."

"Look at those stores over there. They can't bear the 200 tael store management fee. Now it's better. I wonder how they can do business here."

"That's right. I originally wanted to go to that clothing store and order two pieces of cloth, but now I feel embarrassed even walking there."

"Isn't that right? I make so much money every day and I don't want to pay a little to contribute to street cleaning. Not to mention there are so many vendors around. No matter how beautiful the door is, I won't go inside. step."

Scenes like this were played out in various streets of Konoha.

Although Danzo's men tried hard to bring up the rhythm, they were so powerless before the changes visible to the naked eye.
