The Dark Lord at Hogwarts is not too cold

311. Dumbledore's Mistake

The courtroom of the British Ministry of Magic is much smaller than that of the Magical Congress of the United States, but it is quite dense. When Peter was brought to the chained seat, it can be seen from his trembling body:

How oppressive and aggressive it is when everyone's eyes are focused.

The courtroom was full of people, but it was unusually quiet. Cyrus looked at the small window next to him. Although it was underground, the picture was the imaginary picture of the wizard in the maintenance department:

It was raining lightly in the sky, and the raindrops made a crisp ticking sound on the glass.

Opposite Peter was Sirius Black, while Cyrus and Hermione each held a small stack of papers, standing on either side of Black, with Professor Lupine in the middle, and Harry at the back.

Professor Lupine was a little fidgety, his rough hands tightly clenched his pants, and he frowned from time to time.

Peter was strapped to the seat, fearing in advance that he would replace Veritaserum with a spell, and the Aurors of the Ministry of Magic had already used a tongue gag to keep his tongue stuck to the roof of his mouth.

"Peter Pettigrew...a long-dead man, today, here, will resume a trial that was forgotten 12 years ago... Ladies and gentlemen, for justice!" Fudge tapped Small wooden hammer.

The Minister of Magic looked at the Wizengamot jury and found that Dumbledore just put his hands on his knees, as if he was closing his eyes and resting his mind.

Perfect opening statement, righteous Fudge...and expressed that this formal trial was forgotten by the then Ministry of Magic 12 years ago. As a politician, Fudge can be regarded as just passing.

But Cyrus and Hermione felt nothing in their hearts, even though there was no Prime Minister John here this time...

"let's start!"

With a loud voice, he respectfully saluted both sides slightly, and then directed an Auror to walk over with the Veritaserum Potion prepared in advance, which was prepared by the potions master, and he poured it in regardless of Peter's struggle.

Then I saw Peter sitting on a chair with blank eyes and loose muscles.

On the other hand, Sirius put his hands on the table lazily, looked up at the various people above from time to time, his eyes were disdainful, his mouth curled up, and he didn't take the Ministry of Magic seriously.

Perhaps this is a kind of resistance because of his grievance.

"Who is the Potters' secret keeper?"

"I...I am their secret keeper." Peter said with blank eyes. Before the trial, he had been staying in Azkaban, and his spirit had long been tortured beyond normal.

"Silence!" Fudge yelled loudly.

Many people stood up and kept shaking their fists at Peter, who was gathered by the lights. Finally... when Peter confessed, the court room was still noisy.

It's like a big frying pan.

Fudge then asked a few more irrelevant questions, most of which were about Blake's confession, and finally Fudge just said that he would take back the first class medal.

Many wizards support the "Dementor's Kiss" on Peter Pettigrew. Although Pettigrew drank a lot of Veritaserum, when he heard this punishment, even Blake on the opposite side saw the fear in his eyes .

But Black held back, clenched his fists hard, and asked him, "Why did you betray Lily and James?"

Harry behind him also pricked up his ears. When Peter looked at Harry, the latter looked at him with hatred. They were different from other people who only wanted to hear the truth...

They didn't believe it, they didn't believe that Peter was simply afraid of death.

"That person found me...they threatened me...I can't do anything, they threatened me and my mother..." Peter cried timidly, "I'm obviously the most inconspicuous one..."

Cyrus saw Dumbledore let out, and the Headmaster opened his eyes.

He was indeed the most inconspicuous, but sometimes it was so subtly that at certain times, inconspicuousness was a huge advantage, and Sirius wasn't the only one who realized that.

And Hermione found that the clenched fists of Lupine and Sirius were much looser. Although they were still clenched, at least they would not tremble with tense muscles.

Lupine told her in a low voice: "At that time, the Dark Lord's power was not only huge, he was unscrupulous... He would not just attack someone head-on..."

Poisoning, assassination, threatening family members... Principal Dumbledore said that even the wizards of the Wizengamot did not dare to act rashly.

"Okay, everyone, let's pronounce the sentence..."

"Slow down!" Hermione raised her wand high, which made Fudge frowned impatiently, wearing a fat woman next to her.

"Miss Granger, we've confirmed Black's testimony," Fudge said conservatively.

"And what did Peter Pettigrew do in the past 12 years?" Hermione was very dissatisfied with this rough court trial, "Do you really believe that the argument of 'to seize the opportunity and kill Harry'..."

Umbridge, the fat woman next to Fudge, twisted her belt, and said proudly: "Miss Granger, I'm afraid you are not qualified to ask, sorry, the authority is so~"

Her clothes weren't the Wizengamot's jury clothes, just plain dark Ministry overalls, but Hermione didn't like the way she stood next to Fudge, looking down from above.

not qualified? She is not qualified? ?

"Second-level Merlins are not qualified, are they?" Hermione raised her brows and said disdainfully.

"You were downgraded to the third class because of Muggles..." Umbridge pursed his lips and retorted displeasedly, "Besides, you are just a student~"

She obviously didn't understand that the contribution of Hermione and Cyrus is a stable second-class medal. In a few years, they will even hit the first-class medal. Although they were downgraded because of Muggles, their theoretical contributions are real.

This contribution was recognized by all of the Wizengamot, and even Fudge had to hold his nose to admit it.

"If you have any questions, you can ask Chairman Dumbledore..." Cyrus pulled Hermione's arm and stood in front of her with a frown. "Now! Don't disturb our records!"

"I don't think this kind of question has anything to do with this trial...I acquit Sirius!" Fudge glanced at Dumbledore who was silent, and quickly knocked down the wooden hammer.

But Cyrus' voice sounded at the same time as his knocking on the table, and while the Veritaserum was still in effect, he asked Peter:

"Who were you hiding from in 12 years?"

"...Death Eaters..." he said drowsily.

Pettigrew's answer, as well as the admission of 'I'm the Secret Keeper', caused a commotion, like gravel thrown into a lake, which splashed everyone...

He's a Death Eater...he killed the Potters, but then why is he running away?Because he killed 'that person'?

"why?"

"They thought... I killed... 'the man', so... they were after... me" Peter said with his muscles twitching as he was strapped to the chair.

"Is there any Death Eaters out there after Voldemort?"

How could Cyrus say 'that man' by his name?He and Dumbledore observed everyone with sharp eyes, watched them gasp, and subconsciously looked at their colleagues around them.

"Albus, this doesn't fit..."

"Voldemort is not here, Amelia!" Although Dumbledore was an old man, he stopped Amelia Bones with just one touch, making her sit in her seat.

The eyes of Dumbledore and Fudge collided. Facing the pair of deep blue eyes, Fudge panicked, but quickly calmed down.

"After the Dark Lord failed, the Death Eaters have been captured in Azkaban..." Fudge patted the table, looking at the panic-stricken courtroom, he was furious, "He's already dead!"

"There are the Carlo family... and other hired dark wizards..." Peter said tremblingly.

"Are you talking about these people?" Fudge held up a few photos, which were the scapegoats thrown out by the previous families, "Obviously, everyone, he is just greedy for life and afraid of death! Such a weak black wizard can scare He hid for decades!"

He continued: "These people have long been caught by the Ministry of Magic.. and now I declare! Peter Pettigrew should be sentenced to 'life imprisonment'!"

Fudge ignored Dumbledore, and neatly directed the Aurors to escort him down.

Seeing the wizards gradually relieved, Fudge laughed, because he dispelled everyone's concerns very well: there are still hiding Death Eaters?Nothing! You can always trust me!

Cyrus and Hermione couldn't understand...even though the Dark Lord wasn't there, the aftermath was still there.
