Harry Potter's Cousin Dudley at Hogwarts
Chapter 48
"No, you got it wrong." Hagrid hastily opened his mouth to deny.
"Hagrid, we all heard you said you have a dragon." Hermione said with certainty, "Where is it now?"
"No, it's not here. Yes, I keep it somewhere else."
"Hagrid, it's exactly as you said," said Hermione.
Dudley noticed that Hagrid glanced towards the fireplace, then walked around the room guiltily.
"Hagrid, what's this?" Dudley walked towards the fireplace, where a dark egg lay under the kettle hanging in the middle of the fire. "Hagrid, this egg is really big. It won't taste good baked like this, why don't we crack it open and make an omelette!"
"No." Hagrid was afraid that Dudley would really hurt his egg, so he stepped forward to stop it.
"Where did you get such a big egg? Hagrid." Hearing what Dudley said, Ron walked up curiously, and found a really big egg.
Ron squatted by the fire, observing the big egg carefully, "I recognized it, I've seen such an egg from the photos Charlie sent home, Hagrid, is this a fire dragon egg? See It’s not cheap, it must have cost you a lot of money!”
"Fire dragon eggs? Where did you buy Hagrid?"
Hermione and Harry also leaned over curiously.
"Win—won." Seeing Dudley and the others looking at him, Hagrid had no choice but to tell the origin of this dragon egg. "Last night, I was drinking in the village and playing cards with a stranger, and that person lost the fire dragon egg to me. To be honest, I felt that I won for no reason. I guess that person wanted to get rid of this egg!"
"But what are you going to do when it hatches?" Hermione asked.
"It's - I'm prepared, I've been reading." Hagrid took out a thick book on raising dragons from under his pillow. "The content in this book is very comprehensive. For example, you can hatch eggs by putting them in the fire, and there are some things to feed after hatching. I think I can take care of it,"
Hagrid seemed a little complacent, thinking that he could easily feed it, but Hermione couldn't help reminding: "Hagrid, don't forget that you live in a wooden house, and this fire dragon can breathe fire."
Obviously, Hagrid didn't listen to Hermione's reminder.
He was humming a ditty now, and then fiddled with the firewood to see if he needed to add more firewood.
Hermione looked at Dudley and Harry, beckoning them to say something, preferably to persuade Hagrid.
Dudley glanced at Hagrid, spread his hands, indicating that Hagrid would not listen to him, and turned his gaze to Harry.
Harry saw Dudley turn his eyes to him, and then Hermione turned his eyes to him, and felt a sudden stress.
"Ahem, since we know this secret, we are going to keep it a secret for you."
"Thank you, Harry."
"Of course, for the sake of fairness, you have to tell us what organs are under Lu Wei. We all want to know, besides you, who else Dumbledore believes can help him."
Hermione looked at Harry and asked with her eyes how to ask this?
Harry looked back to indicate that the matter of the Philosopher's Stone was more important.
Hagrid was delighted to hear Harry say that Dumbledore believed him.
"Well, it's okay to tell you. Dumbledore borrowed Lu Wei from me, and then asked several other teachers to cast magic, Professor Flitwick, Professor McGonagall, Professor Quirrell and Sneaker Professor Pu and they all called. Basically all the professors were called to help, and of course Dumbledore also cast magic.
But I don't know exactly what kind of magic those professors cast. "
"Quirrell? Snape?"
"Yeah! What? Are you suspicious of them? No, they all help protect the Philosopher's Stone, and it's impossible to steal it."
Harry and Dudley looked at each other and decided not to tell about Snape and Quirrell's plot.
"Hagrid, so are you the only one who knows how to pass Lu Wei?" Harry continued to ask.
"Of course, no one wants to know except me and Dumbledore." Hagrid said proudly.
Seeing Hagrid's appearance, Harry knew that there was no way to get out of his mouth today, how could he pass Lu Wei.
"I wonder when the days of peace and tranquility will come."
On the way back to Hogwarts Castle, Hermione couldn't help but sigh.
Now they had new things to worry about besides the Sorcerer's Stone.
If Hagrid was found to be raising Loron illegally in his hut, no one knew what punishment Hagrid would receive.
The next day, Dudley, who was reading the Daily Prophet, looked up at Harry and said to them.
"Everyone, I want to tell you a sad thing."
"what?"
"Is anyone dead?" said Ron.
"No, no one died," Dudley replied. "It's almost Tuesday."
"I know that Nicole Flamel is going to give a presentation on the Philosopher's Stone, and the time is set for Tuesday."
"Congratulations, Ron, you can answer quickly, but unfortunately there is no reward." Dudley smiled at Ron.
"What I want to say now is also related to this. Next week, Nicole Merlin and his wife are going to Paris, France. The return date is uncertain, so the original exhibition will be cancelled."
"Oh! My God, that means the Philosopher's Stone will continue to be kept here at Hogwarts?" Hermione had been exhausted for the past few days, but she didn't expect it to last for a long time.
"Relax, Harry didn't hear Snape and Quirrell last time. He hasn't found a way to pass Lu Wei. Only Dumbledore and Hagrid know that way, so the Philosopher's Stone is still safe. Plus there is Rest assured, the magic cast by other professors is not so easy to be stolen." Dudley comforted.
Hermione could only sigh, and she couldn't help but stare at the corridor on the fourth floor for twenty hours.
In the past few days, going to the corridor on the fourth floor from time to time is already her limit, and she has no time to do many things.
"Harry, we have to trust Professor Dumbledore." Seeing Harry who was still a little confused, Dudley persuaded.
"I know, Dudley." Harry hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
I thought it would only be a few days, so I could keep a close eye on the corridor on the fourth floor.
Now the time for Nicole Flamel to take the Philosopher's Stone is uncertain, and he can't keep staring at the corridor on the fourth floor.
A few days later, while everyone was having breakfast in the Great Hall, Harry's Hedwig brought Harry an envelope from Hagrid.
Harry opened the letter curiously, only to see that Hagrid only wrote four words on the letter: coming out of the shell soon.
"What's the matter Harry? What did Hagrid say?" Dudley, who was eating, looked at Harry staring at the letter written by Hagrid in a daze.
"Dudley, Hagrid's letter says he's about to hatch." Harry said excitedly to Dudley.
"Really?" Of course Dudley knew what it meant to be about to emerge, and he was also curious about what the dragon looked like when it emerged.
"Hagrid, we all heard you said you have a dragon." Hermione said with certainty, "Where is it now?"
"No, it's not here. Yes, I keep it somewhere else."
