Harry Potter's Cousin Dudley at Hogwarts
Chapter 6 To the Leaky Cauldron
"Dudley, Harry, get up and eat!"
Early in the morning, Petunia's voice resounded throughout the house.
After Dudley's friendly negotiation last night, he persuaded his parents to allow him and Harry to study at Hogwarts with his three-inch tongue.
In the end, Vernon and Petunia could only sigh with emotion that their little Dudley had grown into a little man, knowing that their child's stubborn temper could not be stopped. But they also asked Dudley and Harry to promise to send them letters frequently and not to do dangerous things.
When sending the reply, Dudley couldn't help feeling sad again. Harry was worthy of being the protagonist, and he kept sending him letters without replying.
In the middle of the night, there was still an owl waiting for his reply on the telephone pole outside him. No wonder I could see an owl near my house in broad daylight these days. It turned out that it was specially waiting for Harry to reply.
Poor self, forget about the owl, who didn't even get the letter in person like Harry did.
After breakfast, Dudley and his family stayed in their own rooms, because they received a letter this morning saying that people from Hogwarts would take them to buy books and supplies for school today.
'Bang bang, bang bang' came loud knocking on the door, and Dudley even saw dust falling from the door beam.
"Aunt Petunia, the people from Hogwarts are here. I'll open the door." He had been waiting for this moment since his cousin Dudley persuaded his uncle and aunt yesterday.
"Who is so rude!" Petunia murmured dissatisfied when she heard the knock on the door.
Harry opened the door, stunned, to see a giant-like figure appearing in front of him.
The person in front of him is at least 3 meters tall, his face is almost covered by his long and messy hair and beard, only his shiny black eyes can be clearly seen.
"Are you?" Harry asked, looking up at the person coming.
"I'm Hagrid, Rubeus Hagrid, you're Harry! You can call me Hagrid. Nice to see you Harry, the last time I saw you, you were a baby, so big in the blink of an eye By the way, by the way, I brought you a present Harry." Hagrid took out a slightly crushed box from the inner pocket of his black trench coat, and handed it to Harry.
"Thank you Hagrid." Taking the box, Harry could tell it was a cake.
"Can't I have a cup of tea?" Hagrid looked around the room.
"Hagrid, please come in."
"Thank you Harry." Hagrid bent down and forced his way through the door.
"Hagrid, drink tea." Dudley and the others also heard Harry and Hagrid talking in the room. After Hagrid came in, Dudley poured him a cup of tea.
But considering Hagrid's size, Dudley deliberately took a bowl and poured tea.
"Thank you lad, I know you, Harry's cousin, Dudley Dursley, right!" Taking the bowl full of water, Hagrid drank it in one gulp, then wiped his mouth.
"Hello, Hagrid. Hagrid, do you know?" Dudley greeted Hagrid, a little surprised that Hagrid knew his name.
"Of course I know, you are also one of the freshmen at Hogwarts, and I will take you two today."
"Okay, it's getting late, we have to get up and go to Diagon Alley to buy things for you to go to school."
Originally, Dudley and the others were planning to go in the new car his father bought, but Hagrid was too big, so the group had to take the subway.
Seeing that the passengers in the car were all staring at Hagrid, Dudley and his parents didn't want to be seen as monkeys, so they sat as far away from Hagrid as possible, and only the kind Harry and Hagrid sat together.
Compared with Hagrid's bulky figure, Harry sitting next to him looked extremely petite.
After arriving at the station, they came to the London neighborhood. To be honest, Dudley often brought Harry to the London neighborhood for food and shopping, so he was quite familiar with it.
"This is it." Hagrid stopped and said, "The Leaky Cauldron, it's a very famous place."
Dudley looked up at the sign that was about to fall. This was a dirty, small bar in an alley in the block.
Dudley had seen this bar before when he was wandering here before, but he didn't pay much attention to it. It turned out that the dilapidated signboard was the Leaky Cauldron.
Harry saw that the hurrying passers-by didn't seem to pay attention to this bar, their eyes only fell on the nearby shop, and there was doubt in their hearts, so Harry asked Hagrid.
"Because of the spell, ordinary people can't see the Leaky Cauldron, and they will subconsciously stay away from it." Hagrid answered Harry seriously.
Hagrid took the lead leading Harry into the pub, while Dudley led his parents in who couldn't see the Leaky Cauldron.
After entering the bar, as Hagrid said the place is famous in the wizarding world, this bar is really dark and dirty, and there is a strange smell, which made Dudley and the others couldn't help covering their noses, but Hagrid acted like a normal person Same, say hello to the bar owner.
Judging from the reactions of the bar owner and all the drinkers, they should be very familiar with Hagrid. It seems that Hagrid is a frequent visitor to this bar.
"As usual, Hagrid?" the barkeep waved a glass at Hagrid.
"No, Tom, I'm not free today, I'm doing something for Hogwarts." Hagrid patted the bar owner on the shoulder with his giant palm, indicating that he would drink next time.
"My God! Could it be this?" The bar owner noticed Harry next to Hagrid at this moment, and let out an exclamation from his mouth.
He quickly ran out from the bar, grabbed Harry's hand, and said excitedly, "Welcome back, Mr. Potter, welcome back."
Harry didn't know why the bar owner was so excited, and then he shook hands with everyone in the Leaky Cauldron with a puzzled expression on his face.
"Harry, congratulations, it looks like you're still a celebrity in the wizarding world." After the people in the Leaky Cauldron had dispersed a little, Dudley whispered to Harry.
"Dudley, I don't know what's going on, okay?" Harry said helplessly as he wiped his hands on his clothes after being startled by the sudden enthusiasm of the crowd.
Among the chattering crowd, Hagrid raised his voice and shouted, "It's time to go, there's still a lot to buy. Come on, Harry, and the Dursleys, follow, follow."
Hagrid led Dudley and the others across the bar to a small walled patio. There wasn't much else in here except trash cans and some weeds, but Dudley knew there was a door to Diagon Alley.
"Hagrid, why are they so excited to see me?"
"It starts with your parents, James Potter and Lily Potter, they are great people in the wizarding world." Hagrid told Harry excitedly.
Next, Harry learned all kinds of things about his parents from Hagrid.
"Harry?" Dudley patted Harry's shoulder worriedly.
"I'm fine Dudley, my parents are a pair of heroes, I should be proud of them." Harry's eyes were red, trying not to cry.
