Gary and Carly stood side by side at the exit of the frozen canyon. The icy wind was still howling, but the brief joy of victory had been replaced by the urgency of the next move. Gary's staff was still vibrating slightly, guiding them to the hiding place of the next rainbow gem fragment.
"Where is the next piece?" Carly asked. Although she had not fully recovered, her eyes were full of determination.
Gary stared at the faint light on the top of the staff, sensing the direction it was conveying. After a moment, he spoke: "In the west, there is an ancient forest called Dawn Forest. It was once the habitat of the elves, but now it has been abandoned."
"Dawn Forest?" Carly frowned. "I heard that the forest is full of dangers. Many adventurers who entered it never came out again."
Gary nodded. "Because of this, it's an ideal place to hide gems. But we have to be careful, the demons may have set their sights on that place."
Carly didn't hesitate, and said firmly: "Then we can't hesitate. We need to get there as soon as possible."
Gary agreed. He activated the teleportation array again, and a light blue light enveloped them, instantly taking them from the Frozen Canyon to the west.
---
The scenery of Dawn Forest is completely different from that of Frozen Canyon. The air here is warm and humid, and huge old trees block out the sun. The sunlight shines through the dense canopy, casting mottled shadows, adding a mysterious atmosphere to the forest. However, despite the pleasant scenery, there is an unspeakable sense of danger in the depths of the forest, as if some unknown force is secretly watching everything.
Gary and Carly walked along the path in the woods. It was unusually quiet all around them. Apart from the occasional sound of the wind, they could hardly hear the movement of any living creature.
"This place is too quiet, something seems wrong." Carly whispered, with a hint of vigilance in her eyes.
Gary nodded, feeling a little uneasy. The deeper they went, the stronger the magical fluctuations in the air became, as if some ancient power was awakening. The light of the staff gradually became brighter, guiding them forward.
Suddenly, there was a rustling sound in the woods ahead. The two of them immediately stopped and looked in the direction of the sound alertly. Almost at the same time, a figure walked out from behind the tree.
He was a tall man wearing a dark green cloak and holding a slender bow. His face was cold and handsome, with pointed ears, and he was obviously a member of the elf tribe. His eyes were as sharp as an eagle, and he swept between Gary and Carly with strong scrutiny and vigilance.
"You shouldn't be here." He said in a low voice, his bow already drawn and the arrow pointed at Gary.
Gary showed no hostility, slowly put down his staff, and explained: "We have no ill intentions. We are here to find the fragments of the Rainbow Gem. The demons are taking action, and we must get ahead of them."
The elf man frowned slightly. After a moment, he relaxed his bow and arrow, but remained alert: "Fragments of the rainbow gem? Do you know where this is? The Dawn Forest is not an ordinary place. Those who enter here will most likely never be able to return."
"We know the danger here, but we have no way out." Carly said firmly, "The demons have already obtained a fragment of the North, and we cannot lose it again."
The elf man was silent for a while, as if he was weighing whether their words were credible. Finally, he sighed and put down his bow and arrow: "My name is Elor, and I am the guardian of this forest. The elves left here a long time ago, and only a few people are still holding on. The fragment of the rainbow gem does exist here, but the road to it is blocked by an ancient curse."
"Curse?" Gary asked, his expression serious.
"Yes." Ailor nodded, a trace of worry flashed in his eyes, "This is a curse left by the ancestors of the elves to protect this forest from the invasion of the outside world. But now, the dark power of the demons is corroding it, and the power of the curse is weakening. If we don't take action in time, the fragments will fall into the hands of the demons."
Gary felt the urgency of the situation: "Then we must lift the curse and find the fragments before the demons do."
Elroy nodded, "But to lift the curse, you need three elven relics, hidden in different corners of the forest. Only by gathering them together can we unlock the path to the fragment."
"Where do we start?" Carly asked.
Ailor looked into the depths of the forest, his eyes flashing with a hint of complex emotions: "The first relic, the Elven Bow, is hidden in the ancient altar. It was once a sacred place for our people to offer sacrifices, but now it has been eroded by darkness."
"Take us there," Gary said without hesitation, "We don't have time to waste."
Elroy took a deep breath, nodded, and turned to lead Gary and Carly deeper into the forest. The dark shadows of the Morning Forest seemed to grow thicker, and their footsteps became heavier.
In this dangerous forest, new challenges are waiting for them, and every step may determine whether they can stop the evil plan of the demons.
---
The path in the forest became increasingly difficult to navigate, as the trees seemed to twist their branches consciously, blocking their progress. The magical atmosphere in the air became thicker, and unknown whispers came from afar, as if the entire forest was secretly observing their arrival.
"The ancient altar is ahead," Elor whispered, pointing to a stone structure covered with vines and mosses not far away. The altar was surrounded by a dark aura, and it had obviously been corrupted by the power of the demons.
Gary held his staff tightly, his eyes showing alertness. They knew that a new battle was coming. And this time, the power of the Guardian Elf Bow might be more terrifying than any demon warrior.
The shadow of darkness is approaching quietly, and Gary and his companions are embarking on a more complicated and dangerous adventure.
