Chapter 1219 Plan Change
Unlike the FBI, the CIA does not set up its main training base in Quantico. After all, most of their agents are not visible to the public.
Moreover, compared to the FBI, they cooperate more closely with the military, so CIA agents are generally dispersed in various military bases for training.
As the headquarters of the CIA, Langley has a high level of security, but it is not as exaggerated as shown in Hollywood blockbusters. After all, there are still thousands of ordinary civilian staff who clock in for work here every day.
Of course, this only refers to the ordinary office area of the entire building. As for the secret archive room that Jack and Baldy are about to enter, that is another matter.
"This William Cooper, I know his instructor, Kodeski. I was the one who trained him."
Noticing that the car had already entered the building's underground parking lot, Frank put away the files Jack had brought and stuffed them into his briefcase, then put on his hat and straightened his general's uniform.
"Is it possible to bring William Cooper to our side?" Jack asked tentatively. He was also dressed in a military uniform and held the rank of major, serving as the general's aide-de-camp.
Ivan, the Russian, or the FSB behind him, is quite powerful. Not only did they get them two fake identities and a full set of passes, they even prepared the contact lenses needed for iris verification to enter the elevator.
Frank waited in style for Jack to park the car, and only got out after Jack trotted to the other side of the Lincoln and respectfully opened the door. "Then I'll have to find a chance to talk to him."
After swiping his card to pass the security check, Jack, carrying his briefcase, followed Frank, who was familiar with the route, through many twists and turns, and finally entered an elevator in a rather inconspicuous location.
He put on his contact lenses smoothly, entered the password, and passed the pupil verification. Frank's thumb was always pressed on the P3 button leading to the third underground floor.
The LCD screen showing the number of layers jumps all the way from P1 to P3, and then jumps to B1 and B2
The elevator ran for more than a minute before it showed that it had reached B5. After the elevator door opened with a ding, a short passage was revealed at the back.
At the end of the passage is a security door that looks very solid. There are no surveillance cameras or any particularly cool security equipment. There is only a simple combination lock on the door.
"I thought the security in the secret archives would be very tight," Jack complained quietly.
Frank took off his hat, revealing his bald head, and scratched it. "This place has been forgotten for a long time. Now, there are no more than 20 people in the entire CIA who know about this place."
"So the password here has never been changed?" Jack asked curiously.
"Of course not. The password changes every six hours and cannot be cracked." Before he finished speaking, Frank kicked the wall next to the door lock.
The seemingly solid wall was actually hollow gypsum board, and a big hole was directly broken by a kick. The bald man reached in and fumbled around for a while. With a click, the sturdy security door automatically popped open.
Behind the door was a small room separated by an iron fence as thick as a baby's arm. In the middle of the room sat an old white man who looked even older than Joe Mason.
Hearing the door open, the white-haired old man frowned and looked up at the person who came in. After noticing Frank's head still shining brightly under the dim light, his expression instantly turned into surprise.
The old man stood up tremblingly and walked around the desk, grabbing Frank's outstretched right hand, "Mr. Moses, it's been a long time."
"Henry, I need to see the files on the operation in Guatemala," Frank said with a smile.
"Guatemala?" The white-haired old man was slightly stunned, as if he was thinking in his mind. After a moment, he smiled and nodded again, "Aha, I think I can help you."
Is it that simple? Jack said he was amazed. It turned out that the most difficult thing to prevent is a thief in your home.
The old archivist, who is already a centenarian, still has an amazing memory. After opening the archive room behind him, it didn't take him long to find the information Frank needed in a cabinet.
"This place has completely changed since you retired." He handed the thick information bag to Frank while muttering, "Just take it away. It's not safe for you to stay here for too long."
"Are you sure you won't get into trouble with someone if you do this?" Frank did a quick check and looked at old Henry seriously after confirming.
Old Henry spread his hands, pointed at himself and laughed, his long eyebrows trembling, "Why? Do they expect me to stop the famous Frank Moses? Or drive me out of Langley after I have seen so many secrets?"
The two of them laughed at the same time. Old Henry seemed to suddenly think of something and said, "Oh, by the way, I have something else to tell you."
He watched Frank stuff the file into the briefcase Jack handed him, and continued, "Yesterday a stranger came to me and said he wanted to see your file. The name seemed to be William Cooper."
"The 6-foot-1 guy with the silly haircut?" Frank reached into his briefcase again, pulled out the file he had been looking at on the way here, and showed the old man the picture on it.
"Aha, yes, that's him, a very handsome young man, who looks no worse than the one behind you."
There is no mistake in the poem, post, content, and read the book on 6, 9, and bar!
Old Henry winked at Jack with his square jaw, and after he and Frank laughed again, he reminded him seriously, "But I think you'd better not underestimate him. I see the shadow of certain people in him."
Frank followed his gaze and glanced at Jack, his smile unchanged, and reached out to pat the old man's shoulder, "Thanks, Henry, take care of yourself."
"You too, Mr. Moses." Old Henry smiled and shook his hand again.
After Frank and Henry Sr. said their goodbyes, he turned and handed the briefcase to Jack, whispering, "Change of plans."
-
"I hope you can persuade William Cooper to join us, not to cause trouble for him."
Although he had planned a backup retreat plan in advance, Jack still didn't want Frank to run to William Cooper's office and beat him up as in the original plot.
Well, although it feels good to think about this kind of thing, after all, that guy had attacked me before without any reason, but it is too troublesome to create unnecessary trouble.
"When did I ever say that I was the one who would cause trouble for him?" Frank walked into the elevator, re-verified his pupils, and pressed the elevator button to the sixth floor.
"Ah? What do you mean?" Jack was stunned.
