Chapter 1222 Alexander Denning

"Really?" The old lady whom Frank called Victoria looked at Jack suspiciously.

"Absolutely true, I'm not his student. My name is Jack, and I'm an FBI agent." Jack showed his police badge and empty holster to show his sincerity.

Victoria seemed a little surprised, "Hmm? FBI? Are you being hunted by the CIA too?"

Jack sighed, "To be honest, ma'am, this matter may be a little complicated to explain. There are two friends outside. Now that the misunderstanding has been resolved, can we sit down and talk slowly?"

"Of course, it's tea time now." Victoria slowly pulled out an MP5 submachine gun from under the flowers with her right hand and gave the two of them a playful smile.

This expression, which originally belonged to a young girl, now appeared on the old lady's face, and it did not feel out of place at all.

She turned and pointed toward the windowsill behind her, "Let Marvin in if he doesn't want to get hurt."

The bushes outside the window shook, revealing Marvin's dull old face and the muzzle of a gun pointing into the house.

"So, how did you guys become friends back then?" Jack asked curiously as he followed the two into the restaurant.

"Anyone you are not sure of killing can be considered a friend." Frank raised his eyebrows slightly, half joking and half smiling bitterly.

When passing through the corridor, the door was opened again. Anna, who always showed her legs before seeing people, walked in with a cat-like step, one after the other, and Marvin.

"Who is this girl?" Victoria, who was originally smiling and looking back at the door, suddenly narrowed her eyes slightly, "FSB?"

Anna paused slightly. Although she didn't make any unnecessary movements, Jack could feel that all the muscles in her body tensed up at this moment, like a cat with its fur standing on end.

"Well, she's with me." Jack said, putting his hand on Anna's shoulder, and the girl gradually relaxed.

Frank rolled his eyes and also put his arm around the old lady's shoulders. "This is also a complicated story. Victoria, can you give us some snacks? We are all starving."

Ma Wen timidly poked his head out from behind and asked, "Do you have almond muffins?"

-

The entire dining table was filled with steaming hot tea and a large number of snacks, including the almond muffins that Marvin ordered.

Jack declined the milk in Victoria's hand, and did not touch the sugar and honey on the table. Instead, he picked a small slice of lemon and put it in the cup.

The British add everything to their black tea, including but not limited to milk, sugar, jam, and even ginger slices, diced apples, cinnamon powder, sweet cloves and other strange things.

Of course, Jack is not an expert in tea tasting, but he has already done his best to adapt to local customs and add a slice of lemon. Milk tea without red beans, pearls or coconut is considered "heretical".

Frank chewed a fish sandwich in just a few bites, like a cow chewing a peony, and said with emotion, "It's hard to believe, Victoria, how did you do it?"

"Fresh salmon is delicious no matter how it is cooked. Would you like another portion?" The old lady who came from MI6 was wearing an apron and a pair of tortoise-shell glasses. She looked very kind.

"No, uh, give me another one, I mean, how are you adjusting to retirement?"

Frank's eyes were full of envy. "You look so calm and comfortable. You really enjoy this kind of life."

"Because I like these things." Victoria smiled as she spread sauce on salmon and bread slices. "I like quietness, baking and flower arranging. I like normal life."

"Cough!" Anna, who was a little choked, coughed softly. Seeing that everyone was looking at her, she quickly waved her hand, put down the teacup, and sat up straight and obediently.

"Okay." Victoria handed the sandwich to Frank, her expression slightly embarrassed. "Sometimes I get restless, so I take on some odd jobs privately."

As she spoke, she tried to explain, "You know, people like us are always busy, right?"

Frank chuckled and nodded in agreement, "Who says it's not?"

"It takes time for people to adapt to a new life. It's not easy to change all at once."

Victoria's words sounded so real that Jack chuckled secretly. If someone didn't know, he would have thought that these were elderly people who were bored at home and went out to do odd jobs.

"Frank is different from us. He even found himself a girlfriend who is almost 20 years younger than him." Marvin ate almond muffins and grumbled, not forgetting to tell tales.

Victoria suddenly became interested, and her wrinkled face slowly relaxed like a blooming flower. "Wow, really? Tell me what kind of person she is?"

"Ah, that." The usually cool bald guy actually looked a little embarrassed for a moment, and glared at an FBI agent who was drinking tea tactically and holding the teacup to hide the smile on his face.

"Sarah is the woman who makes me feel that I can really embrace a brand new life, a real life." He subconsciously picked up the teacup and took a sip, his face filled with a happy smile that he had not even noticed.

"Oh, Frank, you are such a romantic." Victoria held her arms against her chest, looking happy for him. "You have always been romantic, a big boy who looks strong but is sentimental on the inside."

Frank ".?"

Feeling that if they let the two of them continue talking, he and Anna would be in danger of being silenced later, so Jack took out the Guatemala file they had stolen from Langley from his briefcase.

He started with the list left by the New York Times reporter, then talked about Frank being hunted down inexplicably, and then mentioned his and his female boss's speculation about the real culprit behind the scenes, and finally talked about the death of Beckett's mother and a series of murders that followed.

"The speculation that the person behind this may be the same person, Senator Bracken, is still just a speculation.

Although we found the original files of the Guatemala operation, most of the second half of the report was blacked out. Obviously, there were people within the CIA trying to cover up the truth at the time, but this does not match the time when Cynthia Wilkes joined the CIA, which was at least 20 years ago.

I checked the names on the list, including Frank and Marvin, and almost all of them appeared in the report, and they were all dead, except this man. "

Jack tapped on the note, "Alexander Denning, his name didn't appear in the report, or it might have appeared but was erased.

I looked up the name through the FBI system, and the files showed that this person had disappeared fifteen years ago. "

"Alexander Denning?" Victoria put on her tortoise-shell glasses again and studied the note carefully for a moment. "I think I know him. His name should be Browning Orvis now. He used to be a CIA agent."

"The guy who later became a defense contractor?" Frank seemed to have some impression of this name.

"A money-hungry villain." Marvin, who was eating a small cake nearby, also interrupted.
