Chapter 953 Going to Boston
To be frank, O'Donnell's plan may be a bit unpresentable. It is just a modified version of "honey trap". Congressman Lavoie's legislative director Daniel Boyd is lustful and shameless, and likes to drive big cars. He can be easily controlled by just catering to his preferences.
Jack was on the sidelines at first. After all, although the girls around him were not all stunningly beautiful, they all had their own specialties. In comparison, Dixon had too many wrinkles on her neck and around her eyes.
But since Reacher and O'Donnell both showed confidence, Jack didn't say much. He called Jiejie to take Dixon and Negley to the street for emergency shopping and hairdos.
He also took Reacher and O'Donnell to a handmade suit shop to buy their clothes. Shoes were easy to buy, as you could find leather shoes of all sizes in the United States, but high-end suits were not so easy to get. A big guy like Reacher could only have ready-made clothes altered.
Their time is limited. Daniel Boyd will be traveling to Boston tonight to attend a fundraising performance for the Boston Pops Orchestra. In order to set up a trap for him, everyone needs to dress formally.
The girls' clothes were all ready-made, and as long as the money was in place, it was not impossible to complete their makeup and hairstyle within an hour. However, it was Reacher's large-sized suit that took the longest time.
When he walked out of the locker room with a new look, O'Donnell, who was waiting outside with Jack, whistled, "Wow, look at you, you look much more presentable now."
Reacher glanced at him unhappily and didn't respond. Instead, Jack looked at the combat boots in his hand curiously and asked, "Where are your original clothes?"
"Throw it in the trash can." Reacher said as a matter of course.
"Throw it into the trash can? Why?" O'Donnell knew that Reacher was a pauper with no savings at all. He spent whatever pension he got every month. He didn't understand why he suddenly became so extravagant.
"It takes up one hand just to carry a pair of boots, and then I need a suitcase to carry clothes, and then I need a house to put the suitcases in, and then I look at the empty driveway and think I need to buy a car to park it, and then I have to fill out a lot of forms in the blink of an eye."
Reacher's answer was quite philosophical. Jack laughed and shook his head. After paying the bill, he opened the door and walked to the side of the road.
O'Donnell behind him was still insisting, "So a spare shirt and jacket is too much of a burden for you? Hey, psychiatrist, do you think this big guy might be a sociopath?"
Jack corrected him with a smile, "First of all, I'm not a psychiatrist. I study criminal psychology. Secondly, there were many people like him in the East in the past. They were usually called ascetics. In their view, external things are obstacles that affect their inner practice."
"OK, Mr. Ascetic, may I ask what you think about the fact that Marlo Burns fled in a hurry with her daughter, taking only a few clothes but leaving behind a pile of cash?" O'Donnell asked maliciously.
Reacher didn't hear the hidden malice in his question. He thought carefully and answered, "I have no idea yet."
O'Donnell continued in a serious tone, "But she did take her toothbrush."
At this point he suddenly showed a surprised expression and took a deep breath, "Oh, she should be your soul mate, right?"
"Shut up!" Reacher, whose heaviest luggage was a toothbrush in his pocket, couldn't keep a straight face. Jack was also amused by his antics.
Reacher took out his bank card from his pocket and handed it to Jack. "Here, take it. When my pension arrives, you can withdraw it."
Although he did not see the specific amount Jack paid, he knew that the outfit was worth a lot of money.
Jack looked at the small card and didn't even try to take it. "If you plan to stay at my house for half a year and eat and drink for free, I can build a small wooden house for you in the garden behind the house.
If you really want to calculate it, the cost of sending out that Gulfstream business jet once is enough to keep you from eating or drinking for two or three years. This case has become a little complicated now, and it has something to do with me, so I may need some cooperation from you."
Before he could finish his words, a fiery red Porsche Cayenne pulled up to the side of the road, followed by Jack's Firebird.
The door of the Cayenne opened, revealing a slender jade leg wearing 10-centimeter high heels. Of course, the color of the jade was a bit darker because it belonged to Negli, who was a mixed-race of black and white.
The indigo swan slim dress brings out the figure of this older sister to the fullest. She is nearly 180cm tall, and when she puts on high heels, she does not lose out at all even when standing in front of a big guy.
Just by looking at her stiff and awkward posture, you can tell that Negley, like Reacher, is not used to this kind of formal dress.
"Don't say a word." Negley threatened O'Donnell, whose mouth had turned into an O shape.
Unfortunately, it was too late. Two words had already popped out of O'Donnell's mouth: "Holy shit!"
"If you open your mouth again, I will shove the tiny heels of these shoes into your skin holes." Negli held the car door awkwardly, and it seemed as if he was wearing stilts instead of high heels.
"I just want to say that you look really beautiful like this. You two look like different people." O'Donnell flattered quickly, pointing at Reacher.
"The two of us look like idiots on a wedding cake," Reacher said self-awarely.
At this time, the Firebird following the Cayenne also opened its door. Jiejie, who was still dressed normally, got out of the car and walked around to the passenger seat to open the door. Dixon, wearing a pure black backless dress, got out of the car slowly, holding a Gucci handbag in her hand.
The upper part of this evening dress saves a lot of fabric. The two straps extend from the back of the neck to the chest and gradually close together. While holding up the surging waves, it also leaves as much space as possible to arouse imagination.
Jack recalled the description of Daniel Boyd's preferences in the information and gave Jiejie a thumbs up. It was indeed the right choice to leave this matter to her.
"It looks like everyone is ready. Let's go. We have less than five hours." Dixon smiled and winked at Reacher, then returned to the car.
"I hope the road isn't too congested. I'll drive in front." Jack took the Firebird's car keys from Jiejie, kissed her on the cheek and said goodbye.
"Boss, shut up and drive. Your mouth is so big that flies are about to fly in it." Negley smiled and threw the Cayenne car keys to Reacher who was still in a daze.

Boston is one of the oldest cities in the short history of the United States. It was founded in 1630, nearly a century and a half earlier than the official founding of the United States.
That year, the Ming Dynasty in the East had not yet collapsed, and Emperor Chongzhen had been on the throne for less than three years, and it was still 3 years before he hanged himself on the crooked tree.
There is a district in downtown Boston that is famous for its many theaters, so it is simply called the Theater District. People who come and go here are all well-dressed gentlemen and ladies.
The protagonist of this mission is Dixon, Negley is responsible for surveillance, and the three men can only wait outside the theater. Now is not the time for them to appear.
Fortunately, there was a coffee shop opposite the theater. Although it was a bit strange for three men in suits to get together to drink coffee, it was better than standing on the side of the road like a wooden stake in the cold wind.
"I didn't expect you to keep in touch with that 'wool man'." Reacher adjusted his tie awkwardly.
Jack couldn't help laughing when he heard the nickname Reacher gave Finlay. "I suggest you keep a certain level of respect when you meet him. He is now the inspector of the serious crime squad."
The person they were talking about was, of course, Oscar Finlay. Since leaving Margrave Town, the short black detective had returned to Boston and continued to work as a detective.
After Jack joined the BAU, he dealt with him in the "Boston Death" case.
That was the most dangerous case the BAU team had ever experienced. Hotchner almost died and Finlay was shot twice, but fortunately both were blocked by the bulletproof plates. It was a blessing in disguise as he was promoted after the case was over.
