My Little Pony: My Little Pony The Martian
Chapter 173 Sun Day 311
AMICITAS Mission Three – Mission Day 315
ARES 3 solar day 311
Transcript – Radio Telegram – ESA Spacecraft AMICITAS <-> NASA Johnson Space Center Deep Space Communications Array
AMICITAS: Friendship calls Earth, Friendship calls Earth, Friendship calls Earth. The operator is star-studded. We're working on a new propulsion system that won't, again, rely on the Friendship's main engines or batteries on board the MAV. Please calculate the thrust required by three engines plus three minutes of propulsion beyond normal MAV takeoff. Also ask Rich Purnell if his theory covers the attenuation of magical energy with distance in the Martian atmosphere. Specific details will be discussed after the communication interruption is over. This message will be repeated every two hours until confirmation is received. complete.
NASA: Message received. grateful. good luck. Communication completed.
An image flashed on the screen.
Angel 11 is the first detector in the Angel series of detectors to have a movie camera installed on board, which will automatically film the entire process of inter-dimensional jump environment survey that lasts about one minute. So far, five films shot on the detector have been recovered and sent back to Masing to complete film development and splicing into such a silent video tape. And now Twilight Sparkle and all the high-level employees of the joint space program of this world are watching this video, observing the data magically projected on the top of the screen that reflects the power consumption of the battery and the elapsed stay time of the probe in the current universe. .
Of course, Cocoon Cocoon was not present. She was still stationed on Concordia, maintaining the little probe in between dimensions. So far, Angel 11 has made a total of twelve shuttles, three of which were interrupted urgently. So far, none of the remaining nine worlds that have caused an emergency shutdown have detected the pre-agreed beacon signal, so the probe keeps returning to the original world automatically, and may continue to do so until it encounters the same technology as the first ten. The same fate as its less advanced predecessors.
Whether or not the efforts to rescue the Amicitas crew were ultimately successful, the effort taught space programs how to build better space probes.
Against the dark background presented on the projection screen, a luminous disk came into view. After a while, it showed more familiar landform features-several continents and oceans on Mars. The camera continued to pan across the planet and rotated a complete 360 degrees before stabilizing itself and jumping back to the main world. Obviously this is an ordinary world where nothing happens.
The screen flickered again, and the cycle of actions started over again. This time, however, the shape of the continent was different. The size of the ocean has expanded and the coastline is completely different. What is in front of me is not the Horse Star, but a world that is located in exactly the same time and space as the Horse Star in this world. Thousands of detected radio traffic records scrolled across the bottom of the screen so fast that even the enchantment that burned the data streams into the video couldn't keep up. But other than that, nothing unusual happened.
Next trip. The blue and green planet is clearly visible this time from the first frame of the screen, but the distance is very far away, much further than the previous two times, and even so far away that it looks more like a flaw on the screen itself than the normal picture. No one can see the outline of the continent clearly. Then the screen rotated, and the camera first captured the outline of a circle, and then a huge glowing ball with pits jumped out - it was the moon, so close that their hair stood on end. What appears to be the far side of Mars' moon - it is clearly between the probe and the planet, so it must be the far side - begins to grow significantly in the frame; the video flashes again.
This time the planet in the picture is closer than the third time, but still farther than the first two times. At least some of the continents can be identified with the naked eye, consistent with the second world. The data captured at the bottom of the screen was overwhelmed by the vast torrent of radio signals flying out. Then, as the camera pans away from the planet in front of them, for just a few seconds, the audience glimpses an object that looks like an alien spacecraft - sharp edges, with parts of the shell streamlined and other parts solid. Wrapped in armor and exuding an iron-grey, sinister murderous aura, it flew past the detector.
Then the probe's lens moved away, pointing toward the vastness of outer space, continuing its programmed rotation of fifty seconds. There was only pitch black on the screen...and then suddenly a full screen of gray appeared. The shape was not a spaceship, but some kind of metal biped...
...Twilight Sparkle realized in shock that this object also had a face with slightly human features. The chin and nose are complete, and there is also a pair of purple-red eyes. The face was encased in some sort of barrel-shaped helmet, resembling the kind of armor worn by gladiators in ancient times before Equestria was founded. At least as far as she knew, she should be the only horse in this room who had actually seen humans with her own eyes, and she naturally did not expect that she would actually see any creatures that looked like them on this side of the magic mirror. …
The detector continued to turn. The camera lens passed over the metal creature that seemed to be studying the detector in front of it with great interest... and a moment later, the other person grinned a smile that made her feel extremely uneasy. (Twilight thought inadvertently, why does such a metal creature have teeth?) The panoramic scan came to an end, and the planet returned to the camera's field of view again...
...Then, just as the detector was recharging its jump engine and preparing to return to the main world, the camera captured a huge hand, a luminous metallic black against the dark void, stretching out towards the interstellar intruder. Come. Judging from the last second of this video, this giant hand is big enough to wrap up the entire detector... If the detector had stayed in this universe for another half second, it would have been grasped by this hand. In the palm of your hand.
The emerging scene doesn't get any better. It looked like light from some kind of magical beam lighting up the deep space. The captured data is once again dominated by a large number of detected radio signals, although the output speed is slower than before. The camera began to rotate slowly, showing an environment roughly similar to the second and fourth worlds, but it looked much worse than any previous world.
Another giant metal biped appeared on the screen, driving a propelling jet out of the darkness and stopping next to the detector. Although it is not as big as the metal monster in the previous universe, it is still a huge behemoth of considerable size; a short, fat gray object holding some kind of weapon in its hand, with only a glowing weapon on its expressionless face. The single eye was moving, scanning the nearby area back and forth. Then the one-eyed eye noticed the detector, and another giant metal hand reached out to the detector...
...but was suddenly interrupted by a beam of light that hit it. After being hit, the thruster exploded and the armor was riddled with holes. The power of the explosion and the large number of flying fragments luckily did not hit the detector, so it continued to rotate undisturbed, not caring about its unknown fate.
What horrified her was that just before the behemoth disappeared from sight, she saw a lifeless figure floating out of a hole in the machine body with half-stretched limbs. The robot - whose features were now obvious - was carrying a pilot. The other employees in the room also witnessed this scene, and were so shocked that they almost gasped in unison.
Then the camera captured another robot flying in. This one was black and white in appearance, holding a huge shield in one arm. Instead of the giant glowing eye of the first robot, its face had a pair of tiny eyes; but otherwise it bore no resemblance to a human face. It also stopped relative to the detector, holding a huge beam gun in one hand and firing at something that was not within the detector's viewing range. The energy of the beam gun was exhausted, and it threw away the giant gun in an instant, reached behind itself, and pulled out a sword that looked like it was made entirely of lightning. The lightning and thunder were collected and restrained. The curved edge of a long sword.
Then the lightsaber swung upwards, blocking in time a giant ax made of red energy that was coming downwards...
...The video ends here.
I don’t know who relit the lights in the Friendship Cape conference room.
At home, the changeling who is now responsible for managing the entire changeling space program and related affairs hissed and asked weakly, "So have our previous detectors always experienced this kind of thing?"
"It seems now," Moon Dancer replied, "of course it's possible."
The buck-toothed changeling in a white coat trembled with fear when he heard this, "Interdimensional travel is too scary."
Twilight Sparkle certainly didn't have a problem with this statement. What would happen if such a robot came into contact with the detector when it traveled back to the main world? Will the Twinkle Engine fail? Or is it possible that they will return to the world of Mars with the probe? If they attack us, what can the horse country do to stop their attack? In that case, those space horses performing missions in orbit will definitely have to sit back and wait for death...
We'll be fine after we rescue our friends, she thought silently. Then we can say goodbye to the trouble of traveling through the universe completely. Our universe alone is enough for us to explore for a long time, and the potential dangers in other worlds are too serious to be imagined...
