Chapter 18 Businessman Killer
In a corner of the Central District, near the edge of the East District, there is a spacious three-story mansion. Renault stood in front of the house reluctantly.
"You should really refuse." Renault muttered and rang the doorbell.
A silence.
Press again.
Still silence.
Ring again.
There was a long silence.
"There's really no answer." Although he was not angry, Renault pressed several times in succession like a fanatical boxing master. If no one came out, he planned to leave.
Yet, deep within the grating, the door to the house opened. What emerged from the door was a tall man with slightly bluish black hair, slicked back, and wearing sharp, colorless glasses.
"Just in time." The door clicked shut, and there was a long silence after that. Renault became a little impatient and rang several more times.
The door opened again and it was the man again.
"You're such a bother," Raynor muttered before the man said anything.
The man seemed to have remembered something, showed a knowing smile, and approached Renault: "What's the matter?"
"I'm not causing trouble for you, I'm here to accept a commission." Renault's words reminded the man of something. He nodded and looked at Renault from bottom to top.
"I don't remember entrusting someone as rough as you," he said defiantly.
These words angered Renault, and he began to point angrily at the man and snap his fingers: "Do you want me to teach you personally what rudeness is?"
"Please come in."
"You guys change so quickly."
The man opened the grille door and invited Renault inside.
The man asked Reno for his ID and after confirming it, gave it back to him.
"I'm very sorry. I'm Mr. Nia's assistant. My name is Keping Klinz." The man bowed politely and called himself Keping.
Kaiping led Renault into the house and said, "Please go this way." The interior of the house was really spacious and very clean, not even a trace of dust could be seen. Best of all, there are no superfluous items.
The nobles and wealthy people that Reno had seen before usually placed decorations such as statues and paintings in their houses. But there was nothing of the sort in the house.
"Do rich people usually like to show off? It seems that this guy is different." Renault was walking behind Kaiping while thinking, and suddenly Kaiping stopped.
"Sir is calling you!" Kaiping suddenly rushed over.
"Eh? Wait a minute! Hey!" Renault chased after him helplessly. He was sure that he didn't hear anything just now. Renault tried to enhance his hearing.
At this time, he vaguely heard the boy's voice, and there was a "Kaiping".
"How good this guy's ears are." Half sighing, half surprised, Renault followed him.
They came to the restaurant. In a monotonous place with only tables and chairs, a green-haired boy with long green hair covering his eyes sat there. Lunch was placed in front of the boy.
"Kaiping! Something big happened!" the young man said to Kaiping.
"Sir! What's wrong!" Kaiping ran to the young man, squatted down and looked at him.
"There is no water!" the boy said.
The boy's words stunned Renault.
Indeed, among the dishes in front of the boy, there was no cup filled with water! However, he wants to say that you should prepare yourself.
"What!! I will solve it right away!" Kaiping replied in a matter-of-fact tone and hurriedly left the room. Perhaps "overprotective" is a mild word to describe it.
Reno was frustrated with the wayward teenager, presumably Nia Fulzbelt.
"What's your name?" the boy asked Renault, probably thinking he needed someone to talk to while waiting for water.
"My name is Renault, are you Nia?"
"Well, please take care of me." Nia showed a carefree smile. At this moment, Keping appeared with a bottle and cup full of water and poured it into Nia.
"I'm sorry I forgot the water, I'm sorry."
"It doesn't matter, everyone will forget. Thank you."
Renault sighed helplessly, and then looked at Nia again. Nia was obviously much smaller than Renault.
"But it's surprising that a child like this is called a 'business killer'."
"Businessman killer?" Nia questioned Renault's words.
"That's something like a nickname that businessmen gave you, sir." Kaiping frowned and adjusted his glasses with his fingers in displeasure, glaring at Renault.
Nia replied nonchalantly: "Oh, that's it." Then nodded.
"But, that's their own business and slack, right? To be honest, this title makes me a little unhappy."
"Slouch?" Renault frowned and stared at Nia.
"Isn't it? No matter what it is, as long as it is cleverly designed, it will sell well. It's my fault that the things I make are too good. It can only be said that they are slacking off by passing the responsibility to others. "
"That's even more uncomfortable. You're making something that's really functional and durable. It might help improve the country, but it doesn't make it rich."
“What’s wrong with improving things?”
"I'm not saying it's bad. It's just that a country that doesn't prosper will decline."
"This statement is too extreme." Nia laughed.
"First of all, the purchase and sale of magic weapons does not make the country rich, and besides, the currency can also be circulated in other places." Nia's answer is very pertinent.
Of course, it is not the buying and selling of magic tools that drives the circulation of currency on a global scale. People who call Nia the "Businessman Killer" are often businessmen who specialize in magic weapon trading. Faced with such a legitimate point of view, Renault was speechless.
Therefore, Renault, who did not want to lose, did not back down, but racked his brains to find words.
"You may be right. In fact, the magic weapon is not a commodity, but a very powerful tool. However, it at least drives the flow of money, and the value of currency is also determined by merchants."
"Absurd, the value of currency is determined by the state and it is impossible for ordinary businessmen to do so."
Renault curled his lips deliberately sarcastically.
“Piling up money can be dispersed, it’s possible to intentionally change the value of money, and there are ways to make money.”
Nia frowned and thought for a moment, then nodded. However, he did not respond to Renault, but muttered to himself.
After staring at him for a while, Nia laughed without restraint: "It seems redundant, but it is indeed a reasonable method. Oh, the world is so big."
In response to this, Kaiping, who was listening silently, sighed: "Sir, he is a simple person, please don't lead him astray."
"What do you mean?" Nia asked, and Kepin glared at Renault.
"Only a small country can adopt that approach. Moreover, the basis for dialogue has been replaced." Reno smiled proudly.
Nia, who saw the meaning, puffed up her cheeks: "You lied to me, it's really outrageous."
"I didn't lie to you. I just didn't provide you with information you didn't know." Renault laughed, but Nia didn't stop being awkward. Kaiping looked at this scene and smiled slightly for some reason, looking a little happy.
