Villain: Glory bows to me
Chapter 135 Special Chapter: Some settings and ideas
Before continuing to write the main text, let me tell you about the name of the protagonist and some settings.
The main thing is to facilitate everyone’s understanding.
Vito is not English, but Italian. The etymology of this word is Vita in Latin, which means "life".
The reason for using this name is simply because I like the old godfather in the "Godfather" series very much-Vito Don Corleone.
I have also written before that Vito used the pseudonym "Tang" to get close to the students of Dragon Academy. Tang is actually Don, which is an honorific title that can be understood as noble and is generally used to address the hsd boss.
In fact, in my setting, the names of all characters have special meanings.
For example, Moonrise Princess Isil, from her title it is not difficult to see that she represents the rise of the moon.
The inspiration for the word Isil does not come from a real language, but from the Elvish language created by the master of fantasy literature J.R.R. Tolkien.
In the "Lord of the Rings" series, the name of the Tower of the Moon is Minas Ithil, which is the old name of Minas Morgul.
Others, such as Shidong, are actually stone and should be translated as stone, but they just borrowed Quanyou's honest and elegant translation method.
I also mentioned in the article that Shi Dong's parents gave him this name to make him as tough as a stone.
It is worth mentioning that I personally like Horsehead and Tolkien very much.
Many plots in this novel pay tribute to some literary works, movies, games and comics.
For example, "Dracula", "Scent of a Woman", "Legend of Sword", etc. My favorite game producers are Hidetaka Miyazaki and Hideo Kojima, and my favorite Japanese manga is "Sword of Sword" legend".
Therefore, there are many elements and shadows of them in my works, which I fully acknowledge.
At the same time, since I often study religion, my works contain a lot of religious elements, which everyone can probably see.
Next, let’s talk about the setting of Ed Continent. All life in this world needs “light” to maintain, whether it is natural light or manufactured light.
So once all the light disappears, the world will come to an end and enter a dark age of despair.
The reason for the gradual disappearance of light is the emergence of the abyss, which will continue to expand and swallow up all light. Its essence, as I have always mentioned, is the fall of human nature.
Next, let’s talk about a new setting that is about to appear—Dreamland.
My own idea is a bit brain-burning, which is to set up multiple dreams, but it is too abstract to explain, so I will borrow some film and television concepts.
First of all, this dream only exists in Huiyuan Country, which is Vito's new plan to allow all the people of Huiyuan Country to enter the dream to facilitate their rule.
You can think of it as the Infinite Tsukuyomi in Naruto.
There are three dreams in total, namely the main dream, the nightmare dream and the curse dream.
The settings of these three dreams come from Freud's "Three I" theory, namely the id, the ego and the superego.
Borrowing the setting of dreams from "The Matrix", a dream requires a creator and several maintainers.
The creator is naturally not Vito, but the artificial human Amigodara created by Milea using magic. The maintainer is also very simple, that is, the person who was imprisoned in the dream.
Let’s talk about Amigodala first. My setting for him is that he can control the fear of creatures, which is actually related to his name.
Amygdala originally means amygdala, which is the fear center in the human brain and an organ used to regulate and control emotions.
As for how to let people enter the dream world, a catalyst is needed.
I believe that smart students have already guessed what it is. It is definitely a catalyst that basically all the people of Huiyuan Country have been exposed to!
At the same time, "The Matrix" has also explained the issue of the authenticity of dreams. Dreams that are too perfect can lead to the destruction of mankind, but dreams that are too psychedelic can make people get lost.
Therefore, the dream should be set to be no different from reality. This is the subjective dream, corresponding to the "self".
In Freud's dream theory, he believed that the "unconscious" was the essence of human dreams and thoughts.
Therefore, the main dream will be infinitely close to reality, making the person in this dream completely unable to realize that he is in a dream.
The nightmare dream is a trash can, corresponding to the "self", and the failed products abandoned by the subject's dream will be thrown into it.
At the same time, there is no maintainer of the nightmare dream. This is an extremely chaotic place for discarding unnecessary dream waste.
Therefore, nightmares are very likely to be born from nightmares. As for the setting of nightmares, I haven’t thought about it yet.
Finally, there is the cursed dream. This dream is quite special. It not only requires a creator, but also has an additional curse, and at the same time, the maintainer is replaced by the victim.
This special curse will cause the time of the cursed dream to continue to go back, and it will be in reincarnation forever, until it becomes an extremely perfect existence, corresponding to the "superego".
The meaning of the existence of this dream is an absolute torture, constantly tormenting the people in it.
In other words, this dream is used to punish those who try to break the dream, causing them to cycle in endless pain and despair so as to give up the idea of escape.
This is my own idea based on the world view of "The Matrix" and combined with the dream analysis in "Bloodborne", a game that I like very much.
At the same time, I will also borrow the multi-layered dream theory and the dream within a dream theory from "Inception".
That is to say, the time flow rate of multi-layered dreams is different, and the time points are also different.
At the same time, multi-layered dreams can also be created on the basis of dreams to make the dream more perfect.
I have to say that dreams are indeed a perfect place to express all bizarre stories, although it is still very abstract for everyone to explain them concretely.
But the idea of dreams can still add more possibilities to this novel. It is originally a Western fantasy theme, so it doesn’t matter if it’s a bit more magical, right? (dog head)
All in all, the plan is to use a pre-designed world to trap the people of Huiyuan Kingdom and prevent them from causing trouble when Vito attacks the Sun and Moon Kingdom.
Anyway, Vito is a villain, so it is natural for him to do all the bad things.
Finally, here is a little question for you. If this world was originally a designed dream, would you continue to resist it?
This sentence is written on the back of the package of Hidetaka Miyazaki's first Souls series "Demon's Souls".
"Is the world just a tragedy? The soul will now suffer endless trials for eternity."
Master Miura also raised questions in "Legend of Sword and Wind".
"Is the end of the battle going to be destruction?"
So please wait and see what kind of ending Aide Continent will eventually lead to. See you in the main article.
