HP: Embrace the Darkness

Chapter 20 Elise’s Secret

Snape was in a much better mood now that Artes was sharing the junior year's papers.

After all, he doesn't have to face the worst paper.

The two of them were correcting papers in silence in the cold cellar.

Aces didn't wear much when he came. For convenience when handling materials, he even took off his school robe, leaving only the shirt underneath.

For a short time, I didn’t feel anything, but after a long time, I felt cold.

The cold cellar made Artes shiver involuntarily, but the movements of his hands did not stop.

He's almost finished making changes, so just hold on.

Across the table, Snape saw this scene out of the corner of his eye, stopped writing, picked up his wand and threw a Warming Charm over it.

"Thank you, Professor!" Artes felt warm and looked at Snape with a little surprise.

He didn't expect Snape to notice these details, he didn't look like someone who paid attention to details.

"After all, I am the one who has to work hard to prepare the medicine for you trolls."

"Your poor Potions Master."

Aces smiled, Merlin! Who taught his professor to talk like this! Don't let him know.

Not knowing how to answer the question, Asseth could only silently speed up the movements in his hands.

Soon the last paper was revised.

The result was a bit disastrous. He tried hard but couldn't get it back.

After all, five of the ten articles are completely unrelated, and the rest are pretty much the same.

He would mourn for them, and hoped that the professor would be merciful then, but depending on the situation, it might not be possible, so he might as well wait for death.

Aces organized the revised papers and put them on the table.

"Professor? Should I go back first?"

Snape calmly gave the paper in his hand an A, and then looked up at Artes.

"Need me to remind you? Mr. Cavendish."

"It's curfew time, are you planning on spending the night in front of your dean?"

After a night of venom, Artes had gradually become accustomed to Snape's way of speaking.

The brain automatically translated Snape's words: You can't go back by yourself, it will be against school rules.

"Then can you ask the professor to send me off?"

Then sending the professor back to the dormitory shouldn’t be considered a violation of school rules, right? Aces thought a little naughty.

Snape obviously thought so as well. He stood up and walked out of the cellar, Artes following closely behind him.

Two figures, one large and one small, blew through the empty corridor like the wind.

The former's black robe was billowing, and he was imposing. The latter is a bit embarrassed.

After all, Snape is tall and has long steps, and he can walk very fast!

This forced Asseth to jog in order to keep up with Snape's pace.

Also, he had to always be careful to avoid Snape's black robes. Merlin knew why Snape's black robes hurt so much!

Aces ran faster and faster, and when he was about to faint, Snape in front of him suddenly stopped.

As expected, Asseth, who was following the black robe, didn't stop the car when the black robe stopped, and directly hit Snape's waist.

Snape groaned in pain.

Resisting the thought of kicking Artes out, Snape threw Artes into the lounge with his backhand.

"Go back by yourself."

Artes staggered after being thrown into the lounge. Just when he stood still, Snape was no longer visible when he raised his head.

Arthur's expression was tense. Is he really that annoying? This is the first time in his life that someone has disliked him so much.

On the other side, Snape, who had disappeared, was now rubbing his waist around the corner, cursing at the same time, the damn little troll, like a reckless lion, couldn't even walk.

In the lounge, Asseth cleared up his expression and turned to look at the corner of the lounge with a cold face.

"Have you seen enough, Mr. Carter?"

"I'm sorry, I just wanted to talk to you."

A figure came out of the dark corner, it was Slytherin's third-year leader Aaron Carter.

Aces narrowed his eyes dangerously. The Carter family is a relatively crazy pure-blood family.

But because he was too weak, he was not involved in what happened back then.

He sat down on the sofa leisurely and said casually: "I don't think we have anything to talk about."

Carter looked at Asseth confidently, "What if I say it's about Miss Lovelace."

"Elise? I'm curious, what is our relationship in your eyes?"

Carter replied without hesitation, "You are friends."

Aces did not deny it, but looked at Carter with interest.

"Then what do you want to tell me?"

Carter looked around cautiously and lowered his voice.

"You must accept her as your follower because of the secret of the Lovelace family. I can tell you that secret."

"Then what do you want?"

"I want the Carter family to become the most powerful pure-blood family."

Aces smiled, what a fool this is.

"Mr. Carter, why do you think I don't know something that you know?"

"An almost well-known secret is exchanged for the glory of the family. Mr. Carter, you are really good at calculating."

The sarcastic words hurt Carter's heart. He didn't expect that Asseth knew this secret.

Damn it, who revealed it? Who is it? Only their British pure-blood family knows this secret!

"You pure-blood families are so arrogant in your bones. You are obviously more miserable than the last."

Aces shook his head in disdain.

Each one is more shameless and greedy than the last, and they don't even intend to let go of an orphan girl.

If this wasn't Hogwarts, if there wasn't Dumbledore here, I'm afraid Elise wouldn't survive the next day.

"Okay, your game of house is over, it's time for me to rest."

After leaving these words, Asseth stood up and walked to the dormitory.

Carter, who was behind him, looked at Ass's leaving figure unwillingly and shouted angrily: "You know what's the use, you can't save her. You won't get anything."

When Asseth heard this, he said ruthlessly without looking back.

"You are wrong. We are just classmates. I am not interested in her, and I will not save her. The only one who can save her is herself."

When he said the last words, Asseth's eyes stayed on the stairs of the girls' dormitory, as if he was talking to Elise inside.

After saying that, he no longer cared about the incompetent and furious Carter and quickly returned to the dormitory. After a tiring day, it was time to rest.
