HP: Embrace the Darkness

Chapter 272 The follow-up to the trivial matter of substitute teaching

The situation on the desk was the same as in the morning. There were piles of papers with no sign of being read, and some items that had been knocked off Snape's robes were scattered around.

Aces sat down at Snape's seat, took out a quill and began to make corrections.

The tip of the pen quickly scratched the parchment, leaving traces of outlines and comments on it.

Without correcting two copies, Artes saw Draco's paper.

After opening it, it turned out that it was exactly what he said, and he even said it lightly.

By Snape's standards, this paper would definitely have to be sent back and rewritten.

Aces made two strokes on it, and after realizing that he couldn't change it, he hesitated for a moment.

"Nina."

The house elf appeared out of thin air, staring at Arthas with his big bright eyes.

"Master Asseth, why are you calling Nina?"

Aces handed Draco's paper on the table to Nina.

"Send it to Draco and ask him to rewrite it before giving it to me. Then help me get the letters from my study that were sent today and send me a lunch."

"Forget it, I'll send two lunches over in an hour, as per Sifu's custom."

Artes figured that Snape would be awake by then.

"Okay, Master, Nina will definitely complete the mission given to Nina by Master."

Nina puffed up her chest and assured Asseth.

She, Nina, is the young master's most trusted house elf, and the entire manor knows it.

In the cellar, the fireplace burned quietly, with sparks popping up and exploding from time to time, making a slight sound.

The warm and bright firelight shone on the man who was writing at the desk, giving off a warmth that penetrated to the bones.

After Snape woke up, he opened the door and saw this scene.

Hearing the sound of the door opening, Artes put down his quill and the paper he was grading, and came to Snape to observe his face carefully.

"Do you have a headache when you wake up?"/"You didn't go to rest?"

The two sentences were asked at the same time, and both of them were startled.

Looking at each other for a moment, Snape was the first to look away uncomfortably.

He turned to glance at the paper that had been mostly corrected and another pile of letters that did not belong to him.

"Are you very free?" The potion master's tone was unkind and a little angry.

"I changed this and went to rest after lunch. If I fell asleep hungry, I would wake up later."

Aces explained gently and pulled Snape to sit on the sofa.

With a wave of his hand, time appeared in mid-air. It was only a few minutes away from the meal delivery time that he had agreed with Nina.

"Sev, wait a minute, Nina will bring lunch in two minutes."

Aces returned to his desk and continued to correct the paper he just had.

Snape watched his movements quietly, leaning on the sofa and feeling a little drowsy due to the warmth.

The Potions Master hadn't gotten enough sleep yet, it was just his physiological needs - hunger that woke him up.

Just a second before she fell asleep completely, Nina appeared with two plates of lunch.

Snape's half-closed eyelids opened instantly, his eyes suddenly became clear, and then he sat upright calmly.

Nina didn't notice his little movement and carefully set lunch for the two of them.

On the contrary, it was Asseth who was attracted by the sound of Nina's appearance and witnessed the whole process of Snape's little actions.

There was a smile in his eyes, and the curve of the corners of his lips could hardly be suppressed. He just suppressed it and then raised it.

Snape noticed the smile in Arthur's eyes and glared dissatisfied.

Artes immediately suppressed his smile, put down the paper, and came to sit next to Snape.

"Ahem, let's eat first. After eating, I have one thing...two things to say."

When Asseth spoke, there was still a hint of smile in his voice.

Snape didn't bother to argue with this man and just ate his breakfast and lunch.

He didn't speak, and Asseth became quiet.

The two quickly settled down for a simple lunch.

"Tell me, what's the matter?" Snape took the handkerchief handed by Artes and wiped his mouth slowly.

Asses leaned on the sofa, admiring Snape's side profile, and recounted what happened in the principal's office.

Snape couldn't help but frown as he listened, so he was suspended without knowing it?

"Of course, all this still depends on the professor's opinion. It will only be implemented if the professor agrees."

Upon hearing this, Snape's expression softened slightly, and after hesitating for a few seconds, he agreed to this approach.

He really wasn't in the mood to teach those idiots during this period, so he might as well leave the matter to Asseth and concentrate on his own research.

but……

"Are you too busy to come here?"

The suspicious eyes hurt Artes. Can he say no at this time? Absolutely impossible.

"Come here if you're busy!" Asseth said decisively.

Snape still didn't believe it. Although he didn't reply to the holiday letters, he had read every one. He probably knew how busy Ass was.

"I don't need to do everything myself. Before, I only needed to watch because it was just starting. If I'm still so busy now, then I should doubt their ability."

This explanation was acceptable, and the Potions Master nodded reservedly.

Like countless times before, Asses took over the trouble that originally belonged to him.

Asseth looked at the reserved potions master helplessly and amusedly, feeling inexplicably that he was busy, but... it felt good.

"Then can I stay in the cellar? It's more convenient that way. I don't have to waste time running back and forth."

"Just to remind you, your office is very close to the cellar."

So running back and forth is not a waste of time.

Aces never expected that the office that was originally intended to be convenient for him would now become an obstacle to living in the cellar.

"OK then."

Snape was a little surprised that Artes gave up so easily. He stared at Artes suspiciously for a while and asked, "Do you have anything else?"

"Have."

"I know the identity of the werewolf Lupine. After communicating with Principal Dumbledore, just leave it to me to prepare the potion for him."

Snape agreed quickly to this matter. He couldn't wait to agree almost as soon as Artes finished speaking.

He was originally unwilling to prepare magic potions for Lupine, but now that Artes has taken over, he is happy and relaxed.

Snape's reaction was expected by Artes. He knew how much Snape hated Lupine as early as in the auditorium.

What surprised Asseth was Snape's other words.

"Except for delivering medicine, stay away from him."

The silky voice was tainted with a hint of disgust and warning.

"it is good."

Of course Asseth knew who this dislike was for, and he responded with a smile.

Snape nodded with satisfaction, "I think you have nothing else to do?"

"Nothing."

Aces shook his head honestly, and the next second he saw Snape slightly raising his chin towards the door.

"I assume you don't need me to send you off?"

"Of course... no need."

Seeing Snape's green eyes, Artes' words changed naturally.

"Go and rest, I'm going back to rest too."
