Chapter 1545: One really shouldn't be happy too early. I've already sent it. That thing sm
Ah...sometimes people really shouldn't be happy too early. For example, I just said this yesterday.
The Pyramid Head's helmet is almost finished. I'm very happy that the progress was very fast this time, and then today I got a thunder blow.
My triangular head helmet is almost finished, isn't it? The only thing missing is the inner cap, because I made it myself, and I didn't put on the fixing piece that is used to fix the helmet to the head in advance.
So I chose a helmet, but later I found that the safety helmets for motorcycles or electric vehicles were too big, so I wanted to change my helmet.
As a result, the hat was put on, but when I put it on, on the one hand, it was a little unstable, and on the other hand, even though the hat was a relatively thin one.
But after putting it on, it's still not high enough. The helmet itself just covers my head when there's nothing on my head, and if there's a bottom edge underneath, it would just cover my neck.
But after adding a hat, the hat can only be stuffed into about 3/5 of the helmet because of the small space on top.
This also led to the fact that when I put on the triangular helmet, I found that the height of the helmet was not enough, and half of my face was exposed, so I had to redo it.
The triangular head helmet was made so quickly this time, I thought that if it went so smoothly, maybe I wouldn’t have to wait until September to finish it, and I could start training in advance.
After all, every day of exercise means a greater chance of getting in shape. But with what he did, I have to redo it. I really have to rush and finish it before September.
I was speechless when I thought about this. I considered everything, even using cardboard. When making the helmet, it was a little difficult to cut the cardboard because the thin cardboard was easily deformed.
Therefore, I bought a large utility knife. Then, considering that even the fastest knife would cut in the wrong direction, I bought a ruler to measure the cutting.
Then I bought some seam glue to deal with the gaps that would appear when the various shaped panels were assembled into a helmet.
I also took into consideration that my frame is larger than the average person, and although I have lost a lot of weight now, I am still relatively fat, so it would take up more space in the helmet. Therefore, I specially made the helmet 40cm higher, for fear that there would not be enough space and I would not be able to put a hat or helmet inside to secure it.
In the end it was still not enough, partly because my head is relatively large. I had a custom-made work hat when I was working, and I remember my head circumference was about 62 or 65cm, I can’t remember for sure.
Although I considered the height of his helmet, I forgot that although I cut a 40cm high board, after the helmet is made into a triangular shape, it will open to both sides and the top of the helmet will sink.
Its actual height is not 40cm. After all, there is a difference between the height of a straight triangle and the height of an inclined triangle.
And because I forgot to consider this aspect, the final helmet was a complete failure.
After the helmet became three-dimensional, I measured its height again, and the actual height was only about 35cm. It was inconvenient to wear it on my head, so I didn't measure it, so I had to spread it out on the table and stretch it to the maximum extent to measure it.
As for the length of a human head, it is relatively long. The height of a normal adult male's head is between 23 and 26 centimeters.
It is quite long in itself, and my total height is only 40cm. After pulling it down, it is only a little over 30cm. Then I have to put a hat inside, and then put it on my head, so the space inside is already small.
The hat itself has a certain size, so it is impossible to stuff it all the way inside and then ensure that it is securely worn after putting it on.
Therefore, the hat must have enough space to be fully expanded, which means that it can only be pasted on about 3/5 of the entire helmet.
Then after I put it on after it was pasted, my head was pushed up and the whole helmet was pushed up high, revealing half of my face.
When I saw the photos, I was so excited. It was done. How long did it take? The helmet took a long time to cut and splice, and there were still many decorations to be done. Well, the estimated completion time of the helmet was actually on the 25th. And I started working on it on the th.
The helmet took me about two or three days to make, and it was almost finished. But now I have to redo it because of the space problem.
I was really impressed, and this also reminded me that next time before making something like this, I must make a template first. Even if I don't have a template, I must find an uncut cardboard and put it on my head to see if there is enough space.
When there is enough space, I will start cutting and making. This time, I plan to adjust the height to between 50 and 60 cm.
The shape of the entire helmet also needs to be changed. Because when I watched the behind-the-scenes video today, I found that the shape of the triangle-head helmet is a little different from the one I made. It is longer and taller.
Then I took the overall proportion of my character into consideration, so I made it a little small, and the shape was a little different. I made a mistake in the joining shapes between the various panels.
So this redo also requires changing the template, but I haven’t figured out how to change it yet, because the cardboard is limited. If I change it in the direction of the movie, the cardboard required will be very large, and I’m not sure if I have it.
My initial idea is to directly dry it to a maximum height of 60cm, and then expand the length as well.
The height of the helmet I have made now is 40cm. When worn on the head, its total length is about 80cm, and no more than 90cm at most.
This time I plan to expand it, to about 60cm high, and the total length should be about 1m.
Although it needs to be redone, fortunately with previous experience, the progress should be faster this time. If we work hard and catch up with the progress, there is still hope that it can be completed before this month.
I can only say that even though I have done proofing in advance, sometimes I really can't trust too much in the floor plan I draw.
Because the brain uses inertial thinking when looking at the floor plan, and subconsciously makes it according to the data on the floor plan, as a result, ignoring the fact that the floor plan is the highest height.
Once it is cut out and put together and worn on the head, it changes from a straight triangle to an oblique triangle, so its original height also changes.
This was my biggest failure in making the helmet this time. I ignored this detail, which resulted in all the previous work being wasted.
Now I’m getting a headache just thinking about redoing it, and although there’s still more than a month left, this amount of time can be said to be neither long nor short.
Basically, it just passes in the blink of an eye. I have to get my body in decent shape within this month. Oh, I want to die just thinking about it.
Moreover, my funds this month are limited. I don’t have much money now. I only have more than 50 yuan on me. I will see when the royalties for next month will be paid.
Oh, damn, next month’s royalties won’t be paid until September 9th, and I only have a little over 12 yuan now.
Then I calculated the materials I needed to buy. I would need a piece of foam cotton that was 1m by 1.5m, and the thickness would be preferably 5cm.
This one costs about 100 or yuan, or more than yuan.
Then you need to buy small parts. There are rivet-like decorations on the triangle head helmet. This decoration is a kind of semi-sphere on the top and a small cylinder on the bottom.
It is rather troublesome to make it by myself, so I found a substitute online. There are semi-circular ones for sale for decoration. I took a look and found that sticking them directly on cardboard has an acceptable effect.
Then you need to buy fixings which will cost about 20 bucks.
Including some other miscellaneous items, I estimate that I will have to spend about 150 to 200 yuan.
Taking into account the more than 300 yuan I spent on materials, I feel that this set is almost the same as the cheapest and lowest quality COS costume.
Currently, the cheapest triangle head COS costume on the Internet is 640 yuan, and the most expensive one I have seen is yuan.
Although I really don't want to say that I made the COS costume to save money, but from the current point of view, my total expenditure has been more than 500 yuan, almost 600 yuan. The cheapest triangle head COS costume is only a few dozen yuan less. This is completely different from the money saving I expected.
But I can comfort myself that what I made is the most suitable for me. And I am quite satisfied with the weight of the knife and the shape of the helmet.
At least my knife, which is 142cm long and weighs about 10 pounds, can definitely kill a person with one swing.
After thinking about it, I have decided to use fasteners for everything, because I really can't find suitable glue, and fasteners are more secure.
Although using fasteners will not look good, there is no better way than fixing the hardware now, and we can only cover it up when the time comes.
For example, I can wrap it with black cloth or beauty tape from the outside, and then cover it with paint. As long as the overall color is consistent, when I hold the knife in my hand, others will not be able to see the details, so there should be no problem.
Alas, the road to becoming a prop is long and arduous.
Especially since I don’t have enough money every month, and I lack space and equipment. I have no experience in this area and don’t know how to grasp the difference between the sample and the real thing.
Every time I search for tutorials online, the more general ones are fine. I can make something by following the steps in other people's videos.
If you want a complicated or quicker production method, almost all the videos you can find are made using CNC machines or 3D printers.
Looking at their spacious venue and all kinds of tools, I am so damn envious.
Also, although the operation is relatively troublesome, as long as you are skilled in operation, have a good data ratio and a good model, you can directly start the 3D printer with one click to print the entire prop.
I'm so envious that my mouth is watering. That thing looks so fucking delicious.
There are also CNC machine tools and various large, medium and small mechanical tools. Damn, I am so jealous of those things.
Look at their spacious yard, where they can do whatever they want, and there is no one around, not even a ghost neighbor. I am so damn envious.
It would be great if I had such a nice place too. And those huge piles of machines are more fucking tempting than putting a bunch of beauties in front of me.
I really fucking like places that are big, with no one around, and the room is filled with all kinds of random things I like, things that I can use when I remember them, or put away when I don't.
I can't imagine how happy I would be if I could have a place like this.
Apart from the shortcoming that people might not discover the death for a long time, there are no other problems at all.
Alas, it's useless to envy. You still have to work hard for it. After you have mastered this prop, see if you can get orders and make some money. Then you can build such a great place by yourself, slowly equip all the materials, props and machines, and then live alone from now on and have a great life.
I fucking love this feeling of not having any contact with people.
Because I am not good at communicating with people normally, in my long life, I have become a person who can only communicate with people online. I feel uncomfortable if I don’t communicate with people online for a day.
