America 1881: Legend of the West

Chen Jianqiu threw the gold bar in his hand to Holmes.

Holmes' hands were shaking a little. He held the gold bar in his hand, looked at it several times, and muttered repeatedly:

"It's Aztec gold! It's Aztec gold!"

While looking at the gold bars, he told Chen Jianqiu the origin of these gold bars.

A Spanish explorer named Corste led his team to Tenochtitlan, the Aztec capital.

They kidnapped the Aztec Emperor Montezuma II and ruled the entire empire under his command.

Six months later, Cortes' general Alvarado massacred more than 600 Aztecs, and thousands of Aztecs gathered to besiege the palace.

Cortes sent Montezuma II to pacify the people. During the chaotic assembly, Montezuma II was hit by stones thrown by the angry people and was seriously injured.

Montezuma II died.

The Spanish claimed that he died of his wounds, but the Aztecs preferred to believe that the Spaniards had killed their emperor.

Realizing that danger was approaching, the Spaniards decided to break out that night. The conquistadors, laden with looted treasures, tried to sneak away along a dike road, only to be discovered.

The Indian boats surrounded the Spaniards, and a fierce battle began.

Many Spaniards were forced to throw the treasures they carried into the water to lighten their burdens. Many others had gold on them and fell into the water during the melee and were buried under the water together with the gold.

On this night, more than 1000 Spaniards and a larger number of indigenous people died in battle. Later generations called it the "miserable night."

This group of Indians are descendants of the Montezuma royal family. They transported the gold in the canal, along with other royal properties, thousands of miles to the southwestern United States before the arrival of new invaders.

They thought that one day they could rely on this wealth to make a comeback, but smallpox and the harsh natural environment made them gradually wither.

These people tried their best to hide this legacy, including introducing underground water to hide the gold at the bottom of the cave.

"I was guessing the meaning of those obscure fables before, and they were all true." Holmes was so excited that he almost cried.

Chen Jianqiu sighed.

These Aztecs were so pitiful. They died and no money was spent.

He glanced around at the others.

The two of them were a little hesitant at first, but with Chen Jianqiu's words, they jumped into the lake regardless of their safety.

In less than two minutes, the voice of "help" came from the lake.

It was Hanif who shouted "Help!". Within a minute of going down, before he even touched the bottom of the lake, the bitterly cold water made his calves begin to cramp.

Chen Jianqiu slowly jumped into the lake again and dragged Hanif up.

As for Sean, he didn't even see a shadow on the lake.

Chen Jianqiu frowned.

This is a bit troublesome. You may not be able to see this black guy on the lake surface, let alone under the lake water where you can't even see your fingers.

Chen Jianqiu held the black man between his arms and fished a handful from the bottom of the lake with his other hand. He suddenly felt that his hand was heavy.

He surfaced, tossed Sean to the shore like a sandbag, and climbed back out.

Teresa gave Sean first aid. The black man woke up after spitting a few times, rolled his eyes, and scratched the air with his hands:

"Tentacles! Ah! Don't catch me! Ah! Big octopus..."

Chen Jianqiu ignored the incoherent Sean and looked around at everyone: "Is there anyone else who wants to go?"

Everyone was silent.

Hanif hung his head and said weakly: "Boss, we were too reckless. We all listened to you. This lake is too weird."

He originally thought that the gold under the lake was at his fingertips, but he almost died when he went there.

Who is this man in front of me?

Chen Jianqiu looked at what he had just fished out, which was a gold necklace and some broken gold.

He returned to the lake.

After a while, when he returned to the shore, his left and right hands were full of gold bars.

Chen Jianqiu threw the broken gold and gold bars to Holmes: "This trip can't be in vain. Let's share it with everyone. Don't forget Adam's. I'll handle it at the Stone Fortress."

Hanif shook his head: "It's useless for us to take the gold, and we don't plan to divide the money and break up. No matter where you show up in the west with this gold, you will be watched."

Then he walked shirtless towards the entrance of the cave.

Donnie and Li Sifu were sitting by the campfire.

Li Sifu's English was not very good, and he had a strong accent. Donnie was the same as him, but because of their similar age and rich body language, the two of them actually had a great time chatting.

Suddenly, the rope hanging from the back of Li Sifu's butt to the hole moved.

Li Sifu was startled and raised his torch to shine on the cliff.

He saw a male upper body that was as muscular as a sculpture.

Chen Jianqiu jumped up from below, passed Li Sifu, and trotted to the edge of the bonfire.

"It's so cold, so cold." He sat by the bonfire and put his wet clothes on the edge of the fire to bake.

People from behind also climbed up one after another.

Chen Jianqiu, who was burning by the fire, suddenly wanted to drink some wine to warm himself up. However, only Adam in the team had a bottle of Erguotou.

"Let's go back to the lake." Chen Jianqiu quickly stood up.

"But..." Danny looked at the dark sky, the sick Hanif, and Sean who was still rolling his eyes, and was about to say something.

He just turned around and found a shirtless Chen Jianqiu already walking towards the cave.
