My Rebirth and the Strange Adventure of Black Zhen
Chapter 324: Jaina’s Past (Part )
Anduin escaped Ironforge using Jaina's hearthstone, and was visited by Baine Bloodhoof. In Theramore, he and Baine discussed the problems that come with being the son of a leader. At the end of the meeting, Anduin gave Baine the scepter "Fearbreaker". Anduin explained that "it chose Baine, just as it chose Anduin before."
When Anduin learned that Varian was leading eighteen SI:1 agents on a mission to liberate Ironforge and assassinate Moira, he immediately traveled to Ironforge through Jaina's wizard portal and attempted to convince Varian to spare Moira's life. Just as Varian was about to execute Moira, Anduin intervened and said that teaching her to be a better leader would be more effective than killing her. Although Moira was a tyrant who held the city hostage, she was still the heir to the throne, and killing her would only cause problems in the succession of the throne in Ironforge, leading to more chaos and conflict. If she survived, she and her son would unite all the dwarven clans. Varian considered agreeing, but was still very conflicted because Moira had caused chaos in Ironforge and was a threat to his son. In the end, Varian agreed to pardon Moira, but required that if she wanted to be a leader who could unite the dwarves, she must earn the respect of the people and obtain the throne. In order to listen to the opinions of all the dwarves, Varian established the Council of Three Hammers. The two embraced and reconciled, and the people of Ironforge applauded King Varian's decision.[]

Anduin and his father traveled to Darnassus to attend the Alliance Congress. During the banquet, Varian began to criticize Genn Greymane and other Gilneans for their betrayal of the Alliance during the Third War. As Varian scolded him, Malfurion noticed that Velen had suddenly taken an interest in the young prince. When his father abruptly returned to his room, Anduin did not leave with him, but discussed the Holy Light with Velen. However, the prince's personal guard noticed that he was still at the meeting and returned to take him away, ending the conversation. Later that night, when the Prophet was meditating in the temple gardens, Anduin once again came to his side, hoping that they could continue their previous conversation.
After discussing with Velen, Anduin realized that he should devote his life to the Holy Light, but he knew that Varian's stubborn desire to protect him would hold him back. Anduin made up his mind only after he overheard the argument between Malfurion and Varian, and told his father that he had decided to leave, saying that he would follow the direction of the Holy Light. When he found that his father would not listen to him, Anduin chose to leave directly. Varian grabbed his son's arm with anger and despair, and even injured Anduin in the process. Although he loved his father, such rough behavior made Anduin very disgusted with Varian. Then Varian wanted Anduin to study with Archbishop Benedictus in order to keep Anduin in Stormwind, but the little prince did not agree, saying that Benedictus could not teach him what he wanted to learn, and planned to go to the prophet Velen according to what High Priest Rohan said.
After a final plea from King Varian, Anduin said his farewells and set out for the temple gardens to speak to Velen about his decision. After confirming the young prince's resolve, Velen took him under his wing and told him that the Light had shown him a bright future. After the Battle of Ashenvale, Anduin sent a message to Varian, saying that he would return to Stormwind after completing his apprenticeship with Velen. [1]
The Prophet's Teachings
When human refugees began to gather outside the Exodar after the Cataclysm, Anduin was among them, offering his services to the sick. Despite his selflessness, many of the refugees resented him for his special relationship with his mentor, Velen. When Anduin asked Velen why he had not warned him of the Cataclysm, Velen showed him a vision of a world destroyed by the Burning Legion, and explained that the war with the Legion would be far more horrible than the destruction caused by Deathwing and the Cataclysm. That night, Anduin saw a vision of the entire universe being destroyed by the Burning Legion, but the Light appeared and saved him from the darkness, saying "Every life is a universe."
As the weeks passed, tensions between the draenei and human refugees grew, and Anduin accused Velen of being preoccupied with the Burning Legion and ignoring other pressing concerns. When the refugees began to riot and fight the draenei guards, Anduin rushed to Velen to ask him to stop the senseless slaughter. After reminding him of the prophet's vision's words that every life is a universe worth protecting, Velen finally realized that he had been too focused on the future and had forgotten. After stopping the fight between the refugees and the guards, Velen told Anduin that he would one day become a powerful priest and a wise king, and Anduin only wished that his father could hear these words.
Jaina Proudmoore was born three years before the First War, the daughter of Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, the ruler of Kul Tiras and an old friend and ally of Lordaeron and Stormwind. From a young age, Jaina was familiar with the stories of the Keeper Aegwynn. When her magical talent began to show, Jaina was sent to Dalaran for further training. She pestered Archmage Antonidas and was accepted as an apprentice, eventually becoming one of the few female mages directly under Dalaran. The burdens of her mentor's expectations, her family's honor, and her subjects' admiration put Jaina under great pressure in her studies. In addition, Jaina also followed Antonidas' orders and helped deal with Kel'Thuzad's undead creature experiments.
Arthas and Jaina
As both were royal nobles, Jaina was destined to meet Prince Arthas, the heir to the Kingdom of Lordaeron. They first met in the cathedral of Lordaeron. As time went by, the two became lovers from close friends. Kael'thas Sunstrider also had a crush on Jaina, but she did not respond. On one occasion, Arthas volunteered to escort Jaina to Dalaran, and he took her to visit the camp where the Alliance held the orcs. This was the first time they adventured together. The two fell in love and talked about marriage; however, Arthas gradually felt that they were not ready for marriage. Arthas called off the relationship, hoping that Jaina could concentrate on her magic studies in Dalaran, and he could concentrate on fulfilling his responsibilities to Lordaeron. Jaina was deeply hurt by this, but she did not oppose Arthas's decision. Later, she also realized that this was indeed the best choice at the time. Not long after, they rekindled their love, but the invasion of the undead Scourge changed them forever.
Many years later, while Antonidas was busy studying the plague that was sweeping across northern Lordaeron, he met a mysterious prophet who begged Antonidas to take his people and flee to Kalimdor. Antonidas thought the prophet's words were just madness, but Jaina, who had been secretly observing, felt the great power in the prophet and thought the prophet's warning was worth considering. Antonidas remained noncommittal and insisted on sending Jaina and Arthas to investigate the plague north of Brill Village.
In the process of investigating Brill, Jaina found a lot of anomalies: a necromancer, and zombies made of body parts. They eradicated some undead creatures and found a barn infected with plague. The grain in the barn came from Andorhal, the main food supply place for Lordaeron.
While pursuing the necromancer - actually Kel'Thuzad, a member of the Kirin Tor - to Andorhal, Jaina and Arthas found a large group of undead warriors waiting in formation. They fought their way through the siege, caught up with Kel'Thuzad, and Arthas killed him.
On the way back to Lordaeron, Jaina and Arthas stopped in Hearthglen for a rest. They found that the townspeople had turned into undead after eating the plague-infected grain from Andorhal. Although extremely reluctant, Jaina quickly left to seek support from Uther. When she returned with the Knights of the Silver Hand, she found that Hearthglen had been destroyed and Arthas was dying. With Uther's help, they repelled the undead attack. The influx of undead hordes disturbed Arthas's mind, and he vowed to go to Stratholme and face the dreadlord Mal'Ganis.
Jaina and Uther followed Arthas to Stratholme, but they were unable to stop the townspeople from eating the plague-tainted grain in time. All three knew that the townspeople of Stratholme would soon turn undead and attack them. Arthas believed that the townspeople had to be killed before they turned to slaughter the city, but Uther could not bring himself to kill these innocent and defenseless townspeople, even though he knew that it would be useless to let them live. Uther refused to carry out Arthas' orders and refused to point his blade at the townspeople. Arthas condemned him and accused him of treason. He said that anyone loyal to the king would stand with him and take over the town himself. To Arthas's surprise, Jaina sided with Uther.
After the incident, Jaina and Uther returned to the ruins of Stratholme, both of them were stunned by what they saw. The mysterious Prophet once again visited Jaina after persuading King Terenas and Antonidas. The Prophet sensed leadership in Jaina and urged her to take as many people as she could muster to flee the kingdom of Lordaeron and her homeland of Kul Tiras and cross the Great Sea to Kalimdor. Months later, Arthas and the Scourge launched an attack on Dalaran. At this moment, Jaina and Antonidas realized that the Prophet was right. Antonidas encouraged Jaina to take all the refugees from Lordaeron she could find and set sail west to Kalimdor. Jaina listened to her mentor's advice and began to prepare.
Jaina leads the survivors to Kalimdor
Shortly before departure, news of the fall of Quel'Thalas came from the north. Kael'thas Sunstrider, who was immersed in the grief of losing his father and country, not only angrily rejected Jaina's comfort, but also blamed her for choosing a "monster" like Arthas. When Arthas's army was approaching Dalaran step by step, Jaina wanted to confront Arthas in person, but in the end she chose to back down. After all, he had never been convinced by her for so long. Jaina also offered to help the mentor and the mages of Dalaran resist the attack of the Scourge, but Antonidas insisted that she fulfill her duty: to lead the survivors across the Endless Sea.
Upon arriving in Kalimdor, Jaina discovered the presence of orcs. She thought the orcs had followed them from Lordaeron and were immediately drawn into the war with Grommash Hellscream. After a defeat, Jaina needed a strategic point to keep the orcs out: Stonetalon Peak was not only high and defensible, but Jaina also sensed the power it held. After failing to defend the mountain, Jaina led a small group deep into the mountain, hoping to find some power that could help her resist the orcs. Soon after, she suddenly felt that they were being followed. As they approached the center of the mountain, Jaina ran into Thrall and Cairne Bloodhoof. As the two sides were about to fight, an oracle suddenly appeared, and they realized that it was the prophet Medivh they had met in Lordaeron. The prophet advised them that only an alliance between the two sides would have a chance of survival under the iron hoof of the Burning Legion.
Jaina reluctantly agreed to form an alliance with Thrall's forces. Jaina also gave Thrall a soulstone, which Thrall used to capture Grommash's soul during the invasion of Kalimdor. Jaina later helped Grommash break the curse of demon blood that controlled him. Jaina and Thrall's alliance remained, even after Hellscream's death, and neither faction was optimistic about the alliance. They had seen the horrors of the undead, and had both suffered under the elusive guerrilla warfare of the night elves. Even though the alliance allowed both to survive temporarily, it was only a thin line away from breaking up.
Thrall finally received the revelation of the dream. Jaina followed him to the place shown in the dream, and met the night elf leaders Malfurion Stormrage and Tyrande Whisperwind. At this time, the prophet also appeared in his original form of Medivh to correct his previous mistakes. He pleaded with humans, orcs, and night elves to unite as an alliance against the enemy, rather than being divided. They swore to jointly resist Mount Hyjal.
While using teleportation to survey the surroundings, Jaina discovered Archimonde and his Doomguard approaching the holy mountain. The defenders divided into three lines along the mountain to slow down Archimonde's attack. Jaina's line of defense was the first to be destroyed, and she evacuated by teleporting before Archimonde's claws reached her. The second line of defense destroyed was Thrall's Horde. Jaina used her remaining strength to teleport Thrall out and continued to fight alongside him.
